I've got a stack of books about 40 deep I haven't gotten around to, at least 50 games I've bought on steam I haven't played (specials are always tempting) and adult life currently means a social life takes back seat to anything responsible. I will die before I get around to all the of all the things I can do to escape responsibility. There's not enough time to taske every vintage the world has to offer, and I'm spoilt for choice...

What amazes me is that people don't have other things they're happy to do while they wait. Personally, SG will bypass the queue of things I need to do, and I'll deprive myself of sleep when it happens. Until then, I'll just pick up one of the hundreds of the other ways I can procrastinate on my own deadlines.

Absolutely agree, I'm the same. A couple of months ago I did the grand purge of my hard drive for AVN, deleting everything that was older than six months that I didn't even bother to unzip and take a look. Now there is almost no free space left again. I think I need to create a spreadsheet in Excel where I record the games I've ever watched, because often I download something only to find out that I saw this pile of crap about a year ago and deleted it after a few minutes of play Life is not enough to play all the games and read all the books you wanted to play or read, even if you do it 24/7. And I'm not even talking about such a serious real life threat like Baldur's Gate 3 and whatnot
But honestly, this forum is kind of a game itself, and we all play it less or more. Asking "Is this game abandoned?" in the thread of the game, which is obviously in development, is one way to play it, I guess. I can't imagine anyone believing that the people asking this are actually interested in the answer. This is their way of expressing disappointment that they haven't gotten what they wanted for too long.

SG and The Unbroken both make me feel bad whenever I follow porn logic. Seeing how choices affect the characters hits me in both games, it feels terrible to make choices without thinking them through and in these games, the choices imply someone will be upset no matter what you choose. And I would love an Elspeth cameo crossover. Maybe training in the background with Bella in a headlock?

Yep, the infamous "came for the porn, stayed for the story", although I found both games when I was already aware that there are not only sleeping mommy molester simulators exist, and was purposefully looking for story-based games. And yeah, if you try to put the story aside and just play it like a porn game, you'll be disappointed and end up writing "No sex after years and the MC is impotent, ha-ha, lmao." kind of comments Although I'm not entirely sure about SG, I think Ocean is a special kind of pervert and at some point he'll surprise us all with something in the style of Estate: Dominate. For some unknown reason, he put Beanpole in the reworked chapter 2. For what?

I mean, there are good parts. But I am one of those who just can't get over things. Don't get me wrong - I still like the game. Deffo in my top 15, just not my top ten. Maybe I will think about the writing differently if/when the reworks ever finish. But currently, to me, it seems quite inconsistent personality wise for some of the characters and the pacing. And yes, the whole table top sci fy bit is just... Bad. If it were its own thing it would be a great story, no doubt. But it just makes things in SG disjointed.

I guess there's nothing can be done about this then, maybe it's not exactly your cup of tea. However, I would wait until Ch.5 comes out before drawing the final conclusion. If I'm not mistaken, Ocean said somewhere that if you don't like chapter five, you probably won't like what comes after it.

After pure black, maybe they'll post blind albino polar bears in a liquid soap snowstorm. Or 4k flat white. Probably can do it with 1 sample then

Why go to extremes? Any professional 3D designer knows that Max samples = 1 is enough to create high-quality art.

Just want to say if he rendered that with 100 samples the noise and splotches would be much more noticeable. In fact it would, quite likely, ruin the image. Also, a side note, depth of field requires you to use more samples when rendering the scene. For a final product, which uses denoising, I would say 800-1000 is a good number to start at, raise or lower for scene complexity. Without denoising you will need to set the samples much much higher. You would only, ever, use 100 samples to test an image to get a rough idea as to what it will look like. A lil lesson for you.

They found out that on Discord, Patreon and on this site there is a group of people (ass-lickers) who, under different nicknames, attack people who ask awkward questions about Ocean and his game. At first I was shocked and outraged by the way he pretended to be a 3D designer, now reading this puns he writes, I get a dose of fun.
