But a random thought occurred to me - what if Summer was a Zane offspring instead? Entirely possible given the way Willi acts. I'm not really serious about this thought, other than it shows there's enough ambiguity in the plot right now to make any theory plausible, which keeps my brain overthinking it :sneaky:
[/QUOTE]

With all this talk about the MC's/Nami's potential parentage, especially if their parents originate from a higher social circle, I'd assume Summer and Elsa's parents had no idea who the Cyrus' are since they believed the MC to be trailer trash.

Very possible, or, she knew, doesn't like the family and didn't want Summer/Elsa to be associated with them.

Another trival but interesting thing with Sasha. When Marla pairs the class up for the research project, Sasha is the only main protagonist not to be paired with someone. We don't see her when all the pairs are shown in the auditorium. On another note, the render of Ayua and Nami when Marla announces they will be paired, almost looks like Ayua knew in advance they'd be paired because she's looking at Nami before Marla announces her name, if you read Marla's dialogue from the beginning. How's that for a conspiracy... :)
And in some scene when Mila is breaking down and MC has the options to comfort her and/or ask her out to eat as friends or as a date, Marla and Ayua are sitting together at the cafeteria, and chatting as if they were good friends rather than teacher/student.

You know, I've been wondering lately if Ayua and Sasha have been asked to keep an eye on Nami and Nika respectively. Sasha is always lurking in the background of quite a few of Nika's scenes, an Ayua seems to be keeping somewhat close to Nami. Why that is, I'm not sure. Are they observing? Protecting? Sasha and Ayua are both accomplished in self defence...
Looking at the scene in the Ch 5 rework, these are not the words (or look) of a woman co-tasked with "keeping an eye" on Nami or the MC... [assuming Ayua and Sasha are aware of each other's 'mission']

Theoretically, Summer's parents could have called Nika trash not because of his family's financial situation, but because of his bad influence, or Nami could have done something or framed him somehow. I also would not rule out the possibility that the resentment and enmity of the parents spread to the children. Theoretically, if Summer is Leia's daughter and Nika is Monica's son, then this would explain the deep hatred. Especially if Nika = William + Monica.

If you go to the gym with Bella, Robin introduces herself to the MC (with Sasha standing in the background). Bella says Hi to Robin, to which Robin replies, "Hey Bella, long time no see." and later says, "I did try to contact you a few times."
It always surprised me that Sasha and Bella completely ignore each other. Especially considering that they have mutual friends (the same Aya or Robin). Sasha may not be the most sociable person, but she can say hello, just like Bella. And they behave like that as if they don’t want to notice each other.

That would have been a fast-acting anxiolytic (not an anti-depressant). Something taken when having a panic attack. The fact that Sasha carries them with her says a lot about her!
The problem is Ocean explicitly called it Sertraline, a real world drug, which is Zoloft for those of you that are unfamiliar with its marketing name. It is an anti-depressant.

Long text incoming: I've never used medication cause I refused to take any of them, so I'm not familiar with them and their effects. A quick search on google says that it's used to treat depression, OCD, PTSD, Social Anxiety Disorder and Panic Attacks, so Ocean wasn't that far off.
However, it says that the tablet is usually taken daily, but it also comes as a liquid and concentrate, this last one has to be diluted (you can use different drinks besides water for this). It also says that it might take weeks or even longer to give you full benefit, that you should always take it even if you feel good, and if you stop taking it you will experience nausea, sweating, depression, mood changes, irritability, anxiety, tiredness, sleeping issues, etc.

So after this, I came to some conclusions that might explain what happened here:

- Ocean simply didn't know that it's not supposed to take effect that fast, and it could be solved by looking for a different medication OR create their own, tailoring specially to what Nika and Sasha need.
- Ocean does know exactly how Sertraline works, and Nika was just experimenting withdrawal symptoms. How? I dunno, don't have a theory for that one.

I dont post a lot in this forum but i gotta say the theories you guys come up with are incredible to read. This game features so many little hints and mysteries i never thought about.

It's also really cool to see that we are having civilized conversations again after the shitshow this thread was 2 weeks ago.

Keep the theories coming

It can't be that Ocean knows, as Nika asks where he can get the pills. I'm pretty sure that Noji would be able to get most things for him, or refer him to someone anyway, so it's a bit of a plot hole. But it's as much of a plot hole as the adrenaline shot to the heart in Pulp Fiction. There are medicines, changing the name to a plausible one is easy.

It could be that this one is used even if not 100% correct because it's over the counter, so it doesn't fall into a drug use tag for steam? Purely pragmatic maybe?

By accident or design, the rooms the MC inhabited are different in their architecture.

I just noticed again a line Nami speaks at the bookclub... The MC asks Nami how long Noji had been going to the bookclub and Nami replies, "Forever. I remember her going to this club since we moved here." So, they weren't always in the house they live in now. Who knows when or from where they moved?
There was a mention of the cabin, from Nika's dream, being a six hour drive; I think it was Nami who mentioned it. I think it's safe to assume their old house was closer than that, much closer.

Oh boi... the amount of new ratings that are complaining about the current lack of sex is just ridiculous.

You have been told about this, several times. There are even sexy police babes telling you this at the very beginning.

Yet, "how dare not be any sex after 5 years of development? How DARE YOU? This is a porn game BLA BLA BLA"
It is a valid criticism because it was always heavily implied that there would be sex, eventually, and that it was just a matter of time.

In fact, even the "sexy police babes" you mention say these, at the very beginning;
  1. "We value your time"
  2. "At the moment this game doesn't feature any sex scenes!"
  3. "The first part of this game has a huge focus on relationship/world building."
  4. "Consider coming back at a later point if your primary interest is lewd."

Would you have preferred they complain about "Only 5 chapters in 5 years" instead?

And before you jump into conclusions about me being a hater, let me tell you; I like Summer's Gone, in fact it's the only VN I have bothered to check/play the updates for for the last couple of years and I'm looking forward to more in the future.

Really? I bet this sexy police babies screen will be removed as soon as Ocean adds the first 'lewd scene' in SG.
I bet it'll be gone in the steam release - as it won't be a porn title on steam, there is no need for any disclaimer. Season 2 which will be standalone will like have the age verification thing. It purely exists for the patreons and pirates who seem to expect a string of surprise sex scenes thrown at them instead of a plot :sneaky:

It is easy to criticize an AVN because it does not give someone what they want.

This is a pirate site where many people come to take something for free.

F95 has a well-organized system of tags that can be used in searches as well as a quick assessment - what is actually included in an AVN.

Summers Gone has NO tags for sex yet.

Then the creator, Ocean, adds in a screen that CANNOT be missed - saying NO SEX YET.

Still - after all of this - we have some takers who complain about the lack of sex and give poor ratings.

Why not give 1* ratings because Summers Gone has no Loli content or no NTR or no ..., etc.

So what if there are no tags for these - and they were not specifically mentioned on Ocean's 'sexy babes' screen warning, right?

I'm giving each person who rates SG or comments on SG credit for being at least 18 years old - AKA - an adult.

I see adults who Can read (whether or not they choose to check out the tags for SG and/or just click through Ocean's No Sex Yet warning page) complaining because they are not getting what they want When they want it - i.e. - sex with the LIs.

Do I believe that there will be sex, lewd times and other naked fun with the MC and some of the LIs in Season 2 - Yes!

Ocean wraps up primary world-building during Season 1 (while leaving/adding plenty of mystery for future seasons).

This world-building provides an interesting and deep framework within which the MC is growing various relationships, including those with potential LIs.

The depth of Ocean's world-building is a critical part of Summers Gone, IMO, - creating a living, breathing world we get to enjoy as we make choices to build or pass on deep relationships with potential LIs.

For me, this means that When sex happens between the MC and an LI - it will both fit the story and be a meaningful step in the MC/LI relationship.

If someone wants the equivalent of Pornhub shorts - Summers Gone, like Many of the good/great story-based AVNs that are still in the world-building phase - is not the place to scratch that itch.

For those who can't wait for the sex in an AVN - they have Literally thousands of other options on F95 that include sex.

Cheers!! :coffee:

Panic attacks are weird.
They're not like regular illnesses where the body is in need of something to fight them. They lie entirely in the brain and can appear and disappear at the drop of a hat.

The simple act of having taken a pill can resolve them, Sasha could've given him a sugar pill and would've had the same effect.

At the same time the fact that Sasha was with him and she knew what was happening to him helped more than any pill ever could. MC was fine when he was amid the book club and only had the panic attack when he found himself alone. It really depends on what triggered it.

Yep! And anyone who has taken it or anyone who works in the field has complained about it to Ocean.

Just my two cents here: I think the scene would have been much stronger if Sasha had gone up and done everything the same without the pill. Of course, the pill would not have created that kind of response in him. But having her there, holding his hand, and talking him through the attack would have been extremely powerful.
