I thought RAID wasn't as much a thing with SSDs? I assume if one went, the other would be on it's last legs cycle wise. I also wouldn't want to raid the fast SSD's purely because I am a cheap ass, and fast large SSD's are far too expensive. I'd say the only thing lost is the time to reimage.

but yes, if an SSD on a raid goes out, you back up what is available, check the status of the other drives, and if you are smart, replace them.
here in Texas that would be about 200.00 per 2tb ssd [for Samsung] you could go cheaper... but you get Cheaper.
though i am one to talk, i have a 4tb in my laptop that i got for 160.00

And at the same time, respectable freeloading consumers at the Zone shout: "Milking, this is nothing more but milking."
I don’t even want to delve into what they consider milking: Dev moves to another apartment - it's milking, an overly optimistic estimate published - it's milking, hardware problems - this is still good old milking.
And the most idiotic assumption in this thread: "He just wants supporters to pay for another month." So if he didn't tell people what was going on and just kept quiet until next week, would they all cancel their support? Seriously? Those who continued to support him after he failed to meet his December/January targets as he originally planned? The breadroll-level thinking.
I might see some sense in assumption that since he's made public statements again that he's about to, most likely, if all goes well, he'll probably deliver a release before the end of this month. While, in fact, he screwed up a little with his damn reworks and postworks and still needs time to prepare the Steam release.
The thing is, that in the past, Ocean always announced a release delay, even if it caused a massive butthurt in this thread. And he was never afraid to tell the public the unpopular reasons for it, like wanting to rework the Marla gun scene or the delays and issues related to the music licensing, even though the crowd was screaming, "Fuck the music, just release the fucking update." Nah, I don't see why he needs the lame excuse of "the cat ate my hard drive" just to continue the subscription for the next month. He will get it even if he remains silent.
But what do they mean? Who is being milked? Obviously it's not them, because they're getting the game for free. Patreon subscribers? But why do some randos speak for them? Why don't they stop their support if they think they're being milked?
The mystery is more intriguing than where Summer is gone.

In seriousness most people can't think beyond being blueballed emotionally by the update, they don't even think about how messed up a SSD failure is for anyone. Think about losing all your documents, passwords etc (don't tell me about redundant failsafes; there is nothing 100% foolproof - I'm sure Ocean has as many failsafes as he thought practical, and after today he'll have more). Now think of your amazing plan to make bank on steam failing because of one SSD. Milking patrons rather than pushing an update that you're hoping will revolutionise your work? He can't get the update out fast enough for himself.
I bet you he had his own panic attack, and will now write even more intense panic attack episodes in SG season 2. Literally, people need to think as a human being first and an entitled consumer pirate second. No one can make you care about other people's dramas but your own goodwill. So now we wait a day or two for OCean to repopulate his main SSD, then an hour after till he submits it. Silence is way worse as blueballing.
PS the limit is 1000 threads in the latest games and updates, you can ignore anyone eles on top of that. I ignore more games than people. So you're safe yossa, ghost us with impudence! Or be the first to ignore more than 1000 shitposters, surely there's a trophy for that.

But let me share one more idea that you might find refreshing.
This art, as you said, is possible not only thanks to Ocean’s talents, perseverance and belief in success. But there is a fair share of every his supporter who helped him with their money and loyalty. That's why the guys like you and me can enjoy this art.
Therefore, calling everyone who appreciates Ocean’s work and wants to help him create a fucking cool game a fools who don’t know the value of money is at the very least hypocritical, if we use the results achieved thanks to the talent and hard work of the developer and money of his supporters.

would you say Ocean's games are better than say TES V (skyrim)?
i bought that game for $29.00, then i bought more copies for my daughter, my wife and a friend. that is less than 3 months of Oceans top supporter tier for an unfinished product going on how many years.... so it was likely a better investment than his supporters... but to each his own. I would probably toss him cash [there are maybe 5 devs i would do so] if i Could actually spare it.
i do see your point, i believe we are both correct in this regard, he makes a good product, and is incentivized to not be fast.
heck i know for a fact my son supported several devs when he moved out of my house a few years ago to get married, he forgot to cancel about $150.00/month of them and really felt it a couple months later when he was 100% responsible for himself monetarily. it was a funny facepalm for us both [i recognized one of the names he let slip, luckily he couldn't see my face].
i actually think Ocean's biggest problem isn't work ethic, its perfectionism, or he wouldn't stop a few sessions in to redo them (the chapters), he would just keep going and make the next game 'cleaner' etc. but he sees his 'art' and .... his artist' eye starts screaming at him...
Mila is a perfect example, while some will say she is amazeballs gorgeous now, no one said she was just OK before.
and i noted that Ocean doesn't really go for the static Daz shots with groups either.
so Lucky Us... and ... darn.
i hope he is able to get the hardware that he needs; and the hardware he wants, ASAP.

I can think of another AVN on F95 where the dev has had Patreon charging paused for well over a year, while working on an update. You guessed it! They're still accused of milking.

The Most interesting thing this is. Buy an Windows USB-Stick. Every fucking Windows User do that that themself. HDD or SSD is always a part ya should atleast 2-3 new drives at home for the possible failure and as Dev this thing is a Have Must.
I always have a really good laugh when Dev's post there problems.

It seems like you just dont understand patreon, you're not buying a game there, youre supporting a dev/project. Its based on the idea that you want to help the dev to finish/continue his project because you like it. Its pretty simple.
If someone supports with 150/month on patreon while not being able to afford it, there isnt patreon to blame, its just the person to blame whos either unresponsible with money or dense, but im pretty sure the person would waste their money for other stuff anyway in this case lmao
I think youre right about the perfectionism part but i dont consider it a problem, SG wouldnt have the quality is has if he wouldnt be like that and there really are enough devs who produce half-hearted garbage all the time.

She's one of the main LIs, so arguably just as important as all the others.
Well she's the second favourite if that counts? Just because Nami and Bella got more screen time does not automatically make them more entitled to be the face of Summer's Gone.
So something like the gallery art? Sure, if your goal is to display all the characters' faces. But this isn't a hollywood movie, and Ocean isn't forced to make those kind of posters, so I don't think he will (Might be a bit of a personal opinion, but those type of banners suck ass and lack in creativity and artistic vision).

Although an argument could be made that since the first season focuses more on their storylines, that they should be present in the S1 cover. But I don't think that should be the primary goal when creating a game poster - I mean Tracer is considered the face of Overwatch and she's not incredibly relevant in the game lore-wise.
Personally I really liked the Sasha one. Pretty disappointed it was shot down in favour of someone's lips.
