Eh, it's fine, not "incredible" to me but everyone has their own standards and such. For me this image was/is/will be the eternal SG banner. (and she's not even close to my favorite LI, but the quality and level of detail Ocean achieved here is incredible).
If you mean the screenshots, it could be, yeah.29 images on Steam, 5 are from the board game? Can it be considered bait?
SSDs die faster the MORE you use them, by design.Okay I'm curious about this, because all the creators of this kind of games always have these problems with their computers. Jesus Christ man I had a computer for a year without cleaning and somehow the bastard never let me down. Definitely these cases are very curious.

They don't do anything to last anymore.SSDs die faster the MORE you use them, by design.
so if he is a 'heavy' user, it will go that much faster, especially with mid-tier hardware or lower.
Nah, it's just the underlying tech. And there's no real warning sign, they work perfectly until they don't. SSD's are also the least sexy thing to upgrade, but one of the most important. I don't churn through data as fast as a graphics renderer, but getting expensive SSDs is crucial; speed increases from faster disk access are wild, and the price is always going down. Chances are the burnt out disk is a pretty old generation, and Ocean can get a bigger one with better speed and more reliability cheaper than the one that died. They don't do anything to last anymore.![]()
and should have set up a RAID system for just such crashes, just like any responsible business would... oh wait...Nah, it's just the underlying tech. I'm not going to kick someone while their SSD is down, at least he has backups (multiple).and should have set up a RAID system for just such crashes, just like any responsible business would... oh wait...
i'm not kicking him either, he said he had backups, not RAID, but regular backups, so it's much better than nothing.I'm not going to kick someone while their SSD is down, at least he has backups (multiple).
Idiotic? Absolutely. It's just as smart as all the "My drive died. Save file please?" requests.Strange to live in a world where we have Devs with $5000+ GPUs
but then NO RAID
Like WHAT?
I thought RAID wasn't as much a thing with SSDs? I assume if one went, the other would be on it's last legs cycle wise. I also wouldn't want to raid the fast SSD's purely because I am a cheap ass, and fast large SSD's are far too expensive. I'd say the only thing lost is the time to reimage.i'm not kicking him either, he said he had backups, not RAID, but regular backups, so it's much better than nothing.
the likelihood of them both going out at the exact same time is slighty better than winning the lottery odds.I thought RAID wasn't as much a thing with SSDs? Depends on how he does back ups.
there is a saying,"...a fool and his money..."I'm very afraid that the ignore list is limited to a thousand entries, since I'm almost approaching this limit, and they keep coming and coming...
I just can't figure out how it works. People at Ocean's Discord are screaming, "Ocean, shut up and take our money. Make us a $100 tier because $50 is not enough."
And at the same time, respectable freeloading consumers at the Zone shout: "Milking, this is nothing more but milking."
I don’t even want to delve into what they consider milking: Dev moves to another apartment - it's milking, an overly optimistic estimate published - it's milking, hardware problems - this is still good old milking.
And the most idiotic assumption in this thread: "He just wants supporters to pay for another month." So if he didn't tell people what was going on and just kept quiet until next week, would they all cancel their support? Seriously? Those who continued to support him after he failed to meet his December/January targets as he originally planned? The breadroll-level thinking.
I might see some sense in assumption that since he's made public statements again that he's about to, most likely, if all goes well, he'll probably deliver a release before the end of this month. While, in fact, he screwed up a little with his damn reworks and postworks and still needs time to prepare the Steam release.
The thing is, that in the past, Ocean always announced a release delay, even if it caused a massive butthurt in this thread. And he was never afraid to tell the public the unpopular reasons for it, like wanting to rework the Marla gun scene or the delays and issues related to the music licensing, even though the crowd was screaming, "Fuck the music, just release the fucking update." Nah, I don't see why he needs the lame excuse of "the cat ate my hard drive" just to continue the subscription for the next month. He will get it even if he remains silent.
But what do they mean? Who is being milked? Obviously it's not them, because they're getting the game for free. Patreon subscribers? But why do some randos speak for them? Why don't they stop their support if they think they're being milked?
The mystery is more intriguing than where Summer is gone.

No bro, I don't get any idea from the common sayings that are not relevant to the point.there is a saying,"...a fool and his money..."
there is also a saying, "... Opinions are like ..."
you get the idea.
Ocean makes art, so everyone wants it.
some people have more $ then sense... and
some people, like myself, are cheap ass MFkers...
would you say Ocean's games are better than say TES V (skyrim)? No bro, I don't get any idea from the common sayings that are not relevant to the point.
But let me share one more idea that you might find refreshing.
This art, as you said, is possible not only thanks to Ocean’s talents, perseverance and belief in success. But there is a fair share of every his supporter who helped him with their money and loyalty. That's why the guys like you and me can enjoy this art.
Therefore, calling everyone who appreciates Ocean’s work and wants to help him create a fucking cool game a fools who don’t know the value of money is at the very least hypocritical, if we use the results achieved thanks to the talent and hard work of the developer and money of his supporters.
