up to you but personally I rarely judge something by word of mouth without trying it for myself. As I do find sometimes when people are angry about something especially on a video game they blow things out of proportion. I'm willing to bet any of the dialogue changes arent going to be a big deal to me as I doubt he changed the entire script. But hey that's just me. Lewd scenes changes are a non issue for me as well.

basically the self censorship he attempted to do for a rating for steam. However we knew about that already. Tho their appears there is dialogue changes as well ive yet to play it myself. That is something I dont think was ever mentioned before.

No nudity? In the Steam version we still get a shot of Bella naked in the tub, MC groping Mila's bare ass while making out and Bella sleeping topless more than once, plus new renders and re-worked lines and new dialogues.
Only major changes I saw so far were we don't see Nika's dick in the changing room in during his medical examination, and the hot tub at Zara's has bubbles that cover the girls. Played Bella's path so far, but saying the game lacks nudity is a lie.
I not gonna say some scenes and dialogues were changed, but don't come here saying lies.

Yeah that's pretty lame. Adult Game with Adult Themes and while I know that he wants to take time with Sex Scenes, lowering NUDITY, of all things, is definitely going to kill your game.
There's plenty of Adult Games with Sex and Nudity in it on Steam so I dunno why he's trying to play hard ball with the "Ratings". Maybe it's better advertisement because it's more SFW but still; it's like you're trying to juggle 2 of the opposite things.
Either you hook in the Sex lovers, who will buy the game for the Good Renders + Sex, or you try to hook in the SFW Adult Readers with Good Renders but NO Sex.
I don't think I've ever seen a large chunk of honest to God Steam Gamers that go on Steam, of all places, let alone to pay for an Adult Game just to see little Nudity and no Sex, regardless of how good the Story or Characters are.
Supporters will sure! But not when they've been waiting for Sex this entire time, just for the ENTIRE 1st Season to not only be Censored with LESS Nudity, but also have No Sex Scenes altogether. And that's EXCLUDING the factor of the horrible Development time because the Dev thought it was a good idea to make 2 games at once.
I'll have to see for myself but whenever this game updates, the fact that I'm ONLY stoked to see the story but not sex as well really hurts, I was hoping to at least see ONE Sex Scene by the end of Season 1. At least with WIAB there's SOME Sex Scenes already, with the promise of more down the line based on the progress. Summer's Gone is more of a good book at this point with visual stimulation, except now it sounds like there is even less visual stimulation so at that point, I might as well wait for Season 2 Sex and watch a Drama instead.

Meh, i don't even care about renpy sex scenes. I get more enjoyment out of the hot renders of the clothed babes in this game than pathetic renpy sex scenes. There are other... sites for that.
That said, sucks that some of the good music was removed and scenes deleted or heavily altered.

Devs really need to just finish the game before they start trying to rework/remaster a game that is perfectly fine as is already. Been waiting for an eternity on Summertime Saga as is.

I mean to be fair it does say there is no sex in Season 1 when you launch the game so I never expected alot of nudity anyhow. so censoring some nudity I don't see as a big deal personally if rating was a goal of his. Be different if he censored a sex scene to me or got rid all the nudity as there is still some. But im also one of those people that would pay for an AVN for just the characters or story without a care if there is lewds or not as they arent important to me. What is a bigger issue for me apparently some of the dialogue changes I heard about ill have to wait till I play it to judge it for myself.
With that being said I dont think it was a good move to try to get a rating when S2 is going to be tagged as an adult anyways doesn't seem worth the headache or upsetting the fanbase.

I may be stupid, but what exactly was the point of trying to censor for Steam? Season 1 not being available in places like Germany was kind of a given even with the cuts Ocean tried to make and at best was a long shot. Even if season 1 was available in Germany, future seasons wouldn't be since they would have explicit adult content. What then? Is the point just to ensure immediate sales? In the longterm, as future seasons release, those people would probably see they can't get the future seasons on Steam anyway and not buy season 1 or at least makes it less likely even if it's available elsewhere like GOG. Could've tried distributing an uncensored patch on the itch page which many devs bigger and smaller have done, but I can understand not wanting to maintain multiple versions of the game causing a bit more work. Even if the decision was about visibility, the game already got slapped with the nudity tag even though it avoided the Adult tag, so the visibility is still slightly limited per Steam's system but it seems to still be doing fine on Steam. Ocean confirmed Patreon version will have the Steam cuts, but have they confirmed if the GOG version will as well? Because at that point, if multiple versions are being maintained, why not just offer an official patch?

I just see no reason for it is what I'm saying. These have to be the least horny young adults I've ever seen, even Dr. Pinkcake's games have a better standard of showcasing the bear bones of sex in their 1st Season, along with other story focused, slow paced games like Artemis.
You can still fuck and not ruin an entire character, you can still fuck and build a character after the fact. I just don't understand why Summer's Gone has to be different in that regard even for the SEASON FINALE. I feel like the only thing the Dev has over the above is the better Renders, that's about it. Dev time, Sex Scenes, and even Writing in SOME cases are all better found in other games' 1st Seasons.

But why the focus on Germany ? German law isn't against porn or AVN's etc, it's just steam which geoblocked all porn games because they didn't want make any security checks for minors (at least that was the reason back then).
Instead they got sued for the geoblock which is illegal, paid already millions for it, lose all the revenue and probably will pay more fines...they just don't seem to care.
Yep German law sees incest in a direct line (siblings, parents, children etc) as criminal, boning/marrying your aunt or cousin is fine.
Well our law states, only vaginal intercurse as incest....so doing your sister in the ass is all ok, technically
Just can go to Portugal or Spain it's legal there. France, Belgium and Netherland all made new incest laws in 2010 iirc, so also legal between consenting adults. Then there is Italy, also legal...until it leads to a public scandal than it's illegal and up until 8 years in prison. And i think there are a couple of other european countries where it is legal.
Well either way, reading the thread is way more amusing then the game ever was.
the slow burn is in reality Ocean's lack of progress.

I think the Jacuzzi scene might always be censored as that was done before the release of steam cause of music license issues if I recall but I could be wrong. I heard the lake scene won't be yes but I think some of the dialogue changes might still be changed from what I heard.

If the primary reason was to try and make it available in countries like Germany, then my point stands as it makes little sense in the longterm due to the point I previous stated and doesn't make sense in the shortterm since while he may lose some potential sales, Ocean could still direct those people to GOG.

If this is the case, even more baffling not to offer an official patch or something since multiple versions are already being maintained with tweaks to each of them.

usually never go to the credits for some reason on the 3rd playthrough I did. WIAB and Summers Gone is 2 of 5 games planned. Ambition is great but shouldn't you finish the 2 on deck which look like there are going to take years to complete.

Jacuzzi scene was censored? how other than Namis Butt not showing everything else seemed the same.

I really don't understand why anything other than Nikas penis was censored. Most of the censored scene were Namis and 1 scene with Nia on the basketball court. Might have missed a few more but boobs were everywhere as they said on the college free the boobs. Just doesn't make sense.

I don't fully know the reason but I recall it's something about showing penis and vagina is a no go if he wanted to keep some of the music I think... or maybe it was steam for a non adult rating one of those 2. But yeah never made sense to me when you can show ass and boobs
