You know, this is pretty funny review actually.
"As a result, I think Summer's Gone should not even be on F95".

I think even Ocean would completely agree with them on this. But by some strange coincidence, there is always a “hero” who posts new versions here again and again. Why do you people let these "heroes" humiliate you so much? Why don't you ban them already and finally get rid of this game that doesn't belong here?

And the same... how to call them politically correct... accounts that shouted here half a year ago during the beta release, what a shitty game, what a crappy developer, how they are done with this crap forever and will never open this game again, and you shouldn't even think of asking them to do it!

So, the same accounts, they are all here today, howling exactly the same sad song. Why do they return again and again to where their butts felt so much hurt? The thing is more mysterious than Summer's disappearance.

It's like you eat chocolate of a specific brand but find out that now percentage of chocolate is being less less by each passing year, you won't giveup on that after all those years, you will rage, voice concern, etc. People are just tired of Ocean's tantrum I believe, giving some spice than taking it away, of course they can voice whatever they want, on-topic of course. If you look at it, it is sus on top of sus. Why would Dev convert AVN into VN, making it 13+ and it's not like that when the season2 will be 18+, those 13, 14, 15, 16 years old kids will be 18 years old when season 2 ep1 drops. SO, only one thing clicks and that is Ocean is trying to get Money so it the game may benefit longterm as now he will have buncha money to hire (I guess) more people which will lead to faster developments otehr than it doesn't make sense.

If anyone have a better theory do let us know.

Well, study harder because the statement is complete and utter BS.

As has been recorded many, many times for those who bother to read, Season 1 was toned down to retain EXISTING music licenses. Season 2 has no such restrictions because it incorporates completely new licenses allowing 18+ material.

That's not true. The only reason for being reported and blocking from this thread is breaking forum rules, for example for trolling and insulting thread members, or off-topic discussion.
You can criticize the game and write what you don’t like, but don’t insult the thread members by calling them cultists or Ocean simps - this is against the rules.
I will now write what I don’t like:
1. The idea of remastering an unfinished game (Ocean argued well that he wanted to bring the game up to modern standards and for the Steam release), but it still turned into an extremely slow-burn work.
2. Censorship for the Steam version.
3. Ocean's ambition with several projects. Too many tasks for one indie developer.
That's minuses from me.

Those who were deleted are simply doing hate-trolling, one of them even wrote to Ocean in DM, insulting him and bragging that he was leaking the game to F95 from Steam. That's not normal behaviour. Some people obsessed, coming here to fight with the dev supporters trying to aggressively convince people here that "Ocean bad" is like it's their meaning in life.
There is also hate from developers in other threads, but what I see here is anomalous.

Well, the 16 year olds will be 18 probably when season 2 drops on steam. I highly doubt that any of them will convert to patron/ss to get S2E1.

I do agree with your reasoning as to why Ocean is selling the game. It's not a conspiracy though, this is a pretty normal way to raise money for a business to reinvest in the business. And he was aiming for 16+, not for 13+ so the regions which have that are just more relaxed. Those regional variations are Steam.

Although an interesting facet for anyone who checks the first page of this thread from when the game was first released by Regium in 2019 is the number of people mentioning/acknowledging that the game was going to be a "slow-burn". So, nothing's changed there.

Well... after playing the steam version it's not that bad, but it's confusing why some tiddy scenes got removed and others didn't. Still a whole lotta T&A. Also I'm concerned that even more reworks might be happening as there's quite a lot of renders that flip back and forth between old and new model renders and it's quite noticeable.

One example is the scene where they're all sitting on the stairs, which was changed to account for the Mila rework, but when it flips to Ayua asking Nika to come train you can see the old version of Mila and crew in the background. Not to mention Ayua looking like pre-rework still. Hopefully they just say fuck it and leave it so they can finally focus on Season 2 100% from now on to actually progress the story. Since ya know... 5 years.

If this hadn't taken 5 years I don't think people would be as pissed off as they do about the Slo(ooooooooooooooo)wburn.

Oh no - my point is S2E1 will be a patreon/ss release, until S2E5, at which point it will be STeam Season 2 release. Potentially Ocean will do an early access style thing with steam, as that helps get awayfrom patreo hiccups, but I guess we have to see how WiaB's early access goes from the next release. The standard thing on Steam would be to only release the full seasons - that was also the plan with WiaB until the patreon purge. So we'll see how S2 gets delivered, but I'd expect full seasons on steam, not chapters.

That's makes sense. That way Ocean won't need to update both Patreon and steam parallel.

I'm actually pretty satisfied with the latest version - it's even better than the "Chapter 5 Beta". The new scenes add some nice depth to the setting, though the lighting might be a tad dark. But hey, it kinda fits the overall mood of the story, so I'm not sweating it.

Even the fancy UI, which I usually don't pay much attention to (no offense to the devs, I just have some beef with frontend folks ), is well-executed. If I hadn't already played SG a bunch of times, I'd be even more hyped about this update/release.

As for the lack of sex scenes, it's no biggie for me. I'm all for a solid, well-written story over a quick thrill. And when the characters are fleshed out enough to make you care about them, the eventual sex scenes become even more satisfying.

Anyway, I'm gonna dive back into the game before I get bombarded with angry emojis and slippers for being too optimistic

Precisely. Chapter updates are typically meant to be the WIP, not the finished product. The season breaks the ambitious size into manageable chunks. Yes, I have games on Steam over 100GB, but no I do not want AVN's that size, with every chapter as a DLC.

Also, to go through the time consuming steam approval for each and every DLC update for a new chapter - imagine this thread every release. Not for the faint of heart. I mean, any dev could try to go tame on the base game and upload DLC that's higher than the rating etc. The fewer times Ocean needs to go through that approval process, the better.

I don't fully recall. I think the real hate started the moment Ch 1 was reworked (so early 2021). I've seen some of those haters (of the changes) complain that Ocean turned the game into a blue-balling slow-burn - yet the first page of this thread (from 2019) mentions the phrase "slow burn" many times in relation to the original release.
