Is it true that people are going crazy over gummy bears?
Also, there won't be any sex scenes for most of the second season. So, if you're only interested in that, this game may not be for you.
"there wont be any sex scenes ever.
if you arent interested in cats, gummy bears and kindergarten talks in half-baked never ending project, this game isnt for you."
here, corrected that for u, u re welcome;)

I started playing yesterday, and I want to say that it’s good that Ocean finally removed Regnum bullshit completely, where MC was a complete psychopath, ready to shoot a woman (and not suffer any consequences for it, lol), and he would have ended up shooting at a school and suicide with that writing.

For now I've stopped at 0.3. That damn cat. MC need to make shawarma out of it.

Nah bro, Regium (not Regnum :KEK:) promised on Discord (when he was there) that the MC would not shoot up the school. But he wasn't completely sure. Gave only 99%. :KEK:

This cat could still become a pain in the ass in the future if there are still events at the Holgerson mansion. It would be good for Nick and Bella to learn how to cook cats. It would be doubly nice to invite Mario and Stefan to dinner and serve a dish of this cat.

No and there is no sign for one being in the game for a long time. Hell, the dev even removed many scenes with the girls nude and ALL the scenes with the guy nude. Next rework is gonna push the game into Victorian level prudishness.

Is he trying to sell the game to the Amish, maybe?
Shit.
Thanks Bro.
These are the tags from the OP:

3DCG, Male protagonist, Animated, Big tits, Big ass, Graphic violence, Incest, Mobile game, Romance, School setting, Virgin

If you are looking for sex, this is not the right AVN as Season 1 was focused on world-building and the MC has a very valid reason to not engage in sex yet.

Resolving his issues with sex/physical intimacy is a key part of the story and a driver for season 1.

NO one knows when Ocean will give us the first sex scene in Season 2, but you have encountered at least one who is happy to make predictions as though he has the dev's script for Season 2 in hand - he does not...

The quip: Is he trying to sell the game to the Amish, maybe? is a dead giveaway for how even-handed an answer you will receive from him.

Let's take one of the comments he made:

"Hell, the dev even removed many scenes with the girls nude and ALL the scenes with the guy nude."

The way this is stated, it is misinformation - if one is kind, or outright lies - if one is not.

There is a VAST difference between removing SCENES as described above and replacing IMAGES.

The dev removed Images of full-frontal male nudity, replacing them with other images to maintain the story, and if someone wants to see men's asses - I did not do a count... that was not my focus ... ;)

As for the women, there is no frontal - below the waist - nudity.

There are Plenty of topless shots, they fit within the story, and Yes - they Were part of my focus... :p

Where images were removed (as part of putting this AVN on Steam - which is the version you can download from F95 at this time), they were replaced with other images to maintain story continuity.

As for whether or not Summers Gone Season 1 is an AVN you want to take time to download and try, I recommend:

Reading a few reviews that give specifics - both 'good' reviews - 4/5 star and 'bad' reviews 1/2 star.

You want to find those reviews where the person tells you a detailed 'Why they like/dislike' SG Season 1 and if they actually played all of it or are not.

Don't rely on any one poster, neither the person who first responded to you nor me.

Summers Gone Season 1 is a Long story as AVNs go, weighing in at 10,000+ renders and accompanied by the equivalent dialogue.

It is not an AVN to repeatedly hit the skip button on - if you do, you Will miss out on important elements of the story, and later parts of the story will make less/no sense.

It has mystery, good/great music (depending on your preference - it's great in my book), stunning renders, some exceptional animations/cinematics for a one-man shop, and an engaging story that rewards you for paying attention (there is a lot happening in the background and I personally enjoy the 'easter eggs' I find).

If the description I provided immediately above interests you, check out the reviews and make the decision that is right for you.

If you stay and give Summers Gone a chance, you might just be pleasantly surprised.

Cheers!! :coffee:

Anyways... I'm done with it, so let me just gather my thoughts a bit, but there's a few things I'll say outright:

I'm not exactly sure which songs he's trying to not lose, because like half the songs in there I've heard in BaDIK and other big games, so it's clearly not those... either way, after doing a full PT I can say with the utmost confidence that it just wasn't worth removing all the erotic moments just for a few songs that could've been replaced.

I understand the game is designed as a slow burn and it's fine, however, it only worked because Ocean had the good sense of inserting very erotic moments when needed... and some random nudity too, which by the way, is still present... it's in fact a bit puzzling as to why he chose to remove certain nude shots, but left some others... kinda feels random. Specially Bella removing her top in Ch5 all of a sudden for no reason (or rather, because he obviously removed something else in that scene)... like why even do that?

It's not surprising that Steam didn't fall for that half-assed attempt at trying to avoid the nudity/adult tag, and at that point you have to wonder why even censor anything at all... yeah, yeah, the music, whatever, it's easier to replace a track than to re-render all of those images he decided to change... I mean, whatever, that was his choice, but imo it was the wrong choice, specially considering that he's most likely not out of the hot water with the whole music thing, I suspect.

I'm gonna be honest, it felt like at least 3 or 4 erotic moments were cut out from the script in ch5 too... what I mean is that it really felt that some scenes were leading to a whole lot more and then it just doesn't happen, and it just felt odd and the scenes felt truncated, like something was missing.

Besides that, some of the reworks also resulted in narrative & visual discrepancies that SHOULD'VE been ironed-out BEFORE it got released... he'll still need to do more work on S1 as a result (or leave it as is with those mistakes, but knowing Ocean... yeah =/)... Some of the more noticeable ones were how some characters shift their appearance constantly (banana girl looks chubby at times, then thin at others... wut? I need that sudden weight-loss secret!) and of course how they reference stuff that never happens in the reworked version.

Oh, speaking of pointless changes... the 1st therapy session: Why? Dr. Mommy is still dressed inappropriately... sure, her shirt is not VERY slightly transparent anymore, now she has a huge ass cleavage that looks even sluttier that her previous shirt... soooo... :WaitWhat:

The dialogues in Ch1 and 2 also needed A LOT of polish... somewhere around ch3 they start not reading like attrocious mistranslations, but everything before that just doesn't read like proper english AT ALL... I won't comment on the extreme cringyness of the dialogues 'cause that's more of a personal taste kind of thing, but yeah, some of those dialogues between Bella & Nika are "edgy" to a point of ridiculousness... oh and by the way, repeating the word "cunt" every two seconds is NOT gonna help your game with getting a non 18+ rating... that should be obvious to anyone with any working brain-cells.

I also noticed that he removed a bunch of choices... I'm not exactly sure if those choices were all that impactful, tbh, but the problem is it feels even more Kinetic-y than before and I really don't see the point of removing those choices.

Anyways, all that to say that between all these things and the ones I mentioned before, IMO this wasn't "launch ready", or at least not how he was painting the picture. S1 is still gonna need more work, mainly to fix things that shouldn't have been changed in the first place, so the whole thing is starting to feel a bit stupid... like an excercise in futility.

And the last thing I need to ponder is: Is this even an AVN anymore? Should I just remove from my recommendation list? I mean, sure, he gutted it to shit for no reason, but there IS still a fair amount of random nudity and a whole lot of sexual talk... I mean, holy shit did he really think that was gonna fool Steam? lol... And the worst part is, there's still very much a possibility that he will end up losing his precious music rights anyways, because even IF he managed to fool everyone with S1, well S2 is supposed to be a fully R-rated game, right? Do you think the licensing companies are gonna be okay to have their songs being associated with a porn "franchise" just because season 1 doesn't have hardcore sex scenes? I don't know Rick...

Imma be real, it just feels like a half-measure and half-measure are a really bad move, you need to commit one way or the other, but instead, Ocean just butchered his own game stupidly (as in he really didn't put much thought into HOW to censor it correctly once he decided to do so and just half-assed it), and in the end, pointlessly (because he clearly didn't achieve his goal... except for the music licensing thing, and again, I'm not sure he's completely avoided that problem yet)... so uhm... good job I guess?

I will preface by saying i like Summer's Gone but.......
but after remakes , retouches and rewrites the story and the characters feel so disjointed at points , that it feels like some characters are from different VN's and somehow , someway ended up in Summer's Gone.
Ocean it's very good at setting mood in the scenes he created but his so bad at dialogue and continuity that feels like you're jumping from event to event without letting 'em breed
2 examples 1 good and 1 bad

#1 GOOD : when you visit the hospital to give back Vic id.
after the fight between MC and Nami (hate it that the nurse asking you to be quiet is no longer there) , the next scene is Mc and Nami in the bus getting back home , no dialogue , letting us gather our thoughts after the information dump that happens in the fight.

#2 BAD : the dinner at Nojiko's boyfriend house .
we get this beautiful scene with Mc and Nami on the lake followed by the them going back home and changing cloths and then we get to Nik's house we found out that Zara and Vanessa are Nik's daughters , how Nojiko met Nik , we barely talk to Nik , then Dinner , then baskteball practice , then go back home and tennis match , then let's get naked on the hot tube and Nami it's trying to grind her cheeks on Mc infront of Zara and Vanessa , then we say good bye and off to Vic house we go .
all that felt like Ocean shotgun blasted all those events and information right to your face (pause).
we don't have enought time to process and asimilate everything .

if this VN is slow burn , i hope that Ocean extend events so they can flow better , Nik's dinner should've been the only event that night , basketball practice next day followed by the Vic pajama party.

Shit.
Thanks Bro.
Actually, next update added back lewds unlike the poster told you. Still no sex scenes though. Wait for season 2 or play WiaB (Ocean's other game) if you want to see Ocean doing sex scenes. WiaB has a pretty good one basically right at the start. Link to Ocean's other game (set 20 years earlier than SG) is on the first page of the thread.

Why would anyone want to take over a college?

200 cases...  :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :alien:
Well, I don't know, but you know the Zane's don't own a college in WiaB, and aren't buddies with the Reveras and Petrovas in WiaB, and in SG, there is ZPR, the company made up of Zanes, Petrovas and Reveras who run the university. Seems to me like you don't even know what the content of the game you diss so hard is.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

So yeah my bad, she's won 249 cases and lost 3 in the old version, compared to Dana who is 83 to 1. Do you even play these games?

Fair. I enjoy the story, but I also would've done things differently. I think (despite my general reluctance for AI) AI music will be very useful in AVN's in general, which would allow creators to score the scenes rather than repeat the same loop. Regards the licenses, until there's a commercial release of S2 Full, SG won't be a franchise. I can't see how we'd see S2 in less than 2-3 years being optimisitic, so chapter updates released effectively privately via patreon/SS shouldn't rock any boat.

Regards the dialogue/grammar, I do notice things, but it's still miles ahead of where it was, and equivalent to the level of bugs I find in most releases. Your review articulates what you did and didn't like, so yeah, well spoken.

Having said that, it's comparing against a history - a steam player doesn't necessarily have any history with the game, so they're playing without knowing what alternate scenes were there in Ch1, Ch3.5, Ch4 Ch5 Beta etc. So in that sense, the game is mainly ruined for you because you know what you're missing. I personally found it flowed better than at any point it has since the remake started, and some scenes focused me more on what the characters left unsaid than before.

So thanks for taking the time to be detailed.

Edit:

OMFG, The changelog is relevant? another rework? is this a joke?
Well, shouldn't you be happy he's listening and fixing the typos, and restoring the two Nami scenes he cut? It's already done in any case, it's just effectively a patch/bug fix, 56MB

Is there any difference between the Steam, Epic Games and GOG release? (also what does GOG stand for?)
No, other than (my guess) achievements on the epic or gog versions will be different.

GOG = Good Old Games, and was a reaction to Steam requiring people to be logged on. It's focus is on DRM Free games, where you can download the installer and do what you like. It's also run by CDProjekt Red I believe, and was also a way to preserve games from becoming abandonware, and not updated for modern OS, so I can play all the old RPG's of my wasted youth :sneaky:

Hey Ray, can You wake me up when this title becomes of age?
Doesn't have to be old enough to drink, voting age is acceptable.
Can't have any Adult VN's/games "under age".

This one(or the Dev, to be fair), clearly needs some years under it's belt.
[DISCLAIMER]: i'm not suggesting it should be dragged out for more years.
But lets face it, it's not going to mature within next election time.

That is, when Summer's Gone.
