Confession time: I'd not been consciously aware of the term "waifu" until these forums. I'd fallen behind in my anime.
Because I first saw it applied to characters that were slim and young in appearance, I initially thought "waifu" was a Nihonization of "waif," rather than "wife."
Note: I was surprised that Nihonization passed spell check.

God, I hope not. That would be so frustrating. So many questions with no answers. Would probably be running around the nursing home screaming "Where the fuck is Summer?".with alzheimers, the first three chapters will last forever...
