This game takes itself way to seriously for being so unrealistic when it tries to be realistic. Renders are obviously 5/5 but with some mistakes here and there, one I saw many times were hairworks, but also backgrounds shifting and clothes clipping etc...

Also, Sasha's scar... It doesn't look like a scar imo, more like a plastered on wound 'sticker'. I've no idea how long she's had it but it wouldn't look like that no matter how long.

MC is awkwardly written I'd say,the dialogue in the first chapter were weird and when the renders and animations took a jump in quality, so did the MCs dialogue and personality. It doesn't cut it to say he's getting out of his comfort zone and saying he's confused all the time.
The thing about MC's mental health and all the rest of his issues, that instead of it all happening naturally and instead of him already knowing some of the cast, we as well as him, are introduced to everyone at the same time. What I'm trying to say is that things happen in this VN simply out of plot convenience and not because it's what could've happened in real life.

The fact that he gets a psychologist now (an expensive too I might add) when him and his sister goes to college and not when he apparantly were much worse in high school seems unlikely. If his adoptive mother hadn't done anything, which she didn't, then someone else would've i.e. his teacher, counselor oror maybe even social services (i've no idea where this is set, but I assume it is basically the same wherever in the world you are that adopted children are regularily check in on.

Some of the characters are written good, but shallow, or even too deep. We find out one or two things about them and it stops there but then they also get a hobby or two, they work out, they do projects, homework and have a social life filled with shopping, games, partying, even street racing and whatever else. It's sometimes too little or too much.

But I do like that many of them are written as being in similar situations but act and live completely different from eachother.
The fact that there are many potental conflicts being set up througout is also nice to see so we won't get bored with whatever is going on with Summer and whatever else that seems to be the main point in each episode.

It's a good thing that there are no "instant" solutions like some other college VNs would do... *cough *cough

I've no idea where the plot is going but am sure that with all the cast, dev will find a way to tie them all/most of them together before the end.

P.S. No sex scenes at this point is a strange decision waht with it being about college, but I get that the dev is saving if for something special instead of the "cheap" instant gratification where we see the usual cliché porn scenes play out 5 minutes in.

Bottom line: It takes itself way to seriously.

Just for your way of criticism, here i mine to you. This is clearly review, and should be in "Reviews". From one, who is here on F95Zone from August 3rd 2017, I expect to know those base things, especially if you want to have everything "Tip-Top"!
I never meant to give a review, just some of my thoughts. If I were to give a proper review I'd touch on way more things in-depth and maybe come with some suggestions to try and improve the VN with of course a rating. So clearly not a review, but what can I expect from someone who's only been here since Dec 10, 2019:ROFLMAO:

I know you said realistic......hmm.....but you also said you wanted a game with good writing or with a badass MC ?, SO i am gonna suggest 'The Intoxicating Flavor'...trust me it's an awesome one with an intriguing story.

any other visual novels like "summer's gone" ...?....give me atleast five ........and yes i've played "where it all begun"..
Depends how similar you want. If by means a story good enough to make you play through, there's quite a lot of them.
To add 5 more onto the pile already mentioned earlier, worth playing/reading: 'Depraved Awakening', 'Good Girl Gone Bad', 'Lancaster Boarding House', 'My Sister, My Roommate', and 'Dreams of Desire'.

Those 5 are "complete", and Should be able to knock quite a few hours off the clock. And a "mixed bag" of different styles of storytelling, and diversity to some degree. So a little some, some for each and everyone. Mind though, opinions and tastes is like the butt, split in two halves. Either you like or you don't. :p

Sorry late to the party, I binge them forums only once in a while. ><

Sorry my english is not so good but with realism I dont mean no fantasy/scifi I have no problem with that one. The main reason why I like for example our red string so much is that you have the feeling living in that world. You can make a lot of decisions (play like alpha/ or more like a weak guy/ a complet normal guy) and the whole world is not turned around MC some people already have relationships if you dont care for a person they move on and maybe go for other relationships they dont wait and just exist too fuck the MC they have their own feeling and feel like real persons and I get the same feeling with ocean games. You actually have male cheracters in our red string depends how you play can be friends with them or neutral or have a rivalary or they just dont like you and so on in other games it feels so staged or they just dont exist which feels weird too me. I dont want hardcore harem or ntr games where the whole plot is turned arount that both are bad I know that both camps hate each other but I think that both are equal bad for a plot in terms of writting perspectiv ( I dont mean that it should not be possible too have a 3 some if it fits the cheracters but not that every girl wants to share you/ or that people should not cheat if it fits there personallity and its on party or what ever)but I mean that the whole plot is not turned around that this hurts the narrative.

But I want realism if you are in an relationship with bella and she finds out that you are cheating in other games she would do a treesome relationship or compete with the others (like I said everything is turned around MC) but this dosent fit too her cheracters bella would fuck you up that would be a huge revenge(exspacially if she develops feelings for you) and she would prob target the people that are the closest too you or do the same or would tell anyone that you have a small pepe or any other fucked up shit we now her cheracter :Dor if you are on a party and as a good brother have a eye on naomi and if she is hanging out with weird people in latlely than you should save her or face the consequences that are things that make the game more realistic for me that decissions actually matter, not everyhing is turned around MC and not every cheracter lives for MC.

so is The Intoxicating Flavor like that (never played it)? or more like the other games on this site? because that is the main reason why I like our red string and ocean games hope ocean dont goes the other games route:(
