In other news...
As many know, with the Steam release, I will remove a lot of music from the game... I'm currently still in the clear but as soon as certain content is added, I will have to remove the music.
This means that multiple cinematics will pretty much be "useless"... As they're all tailored to the music... This includes all the cinematics in Chapter 4.

Why am I still doing them even though I will have to remove them?
It's about more than just a nice video... I've been envisioning some cinematics for a few years now...
I've been looking forward to them since early 2020... Listening to the songs over and over again, playing the cinematics out in my head... I couldn't wait until we got into the later Chapters and I could finally do them.
Now that many of them will sadly stay nothing but a vision, I will still finish those that I legally can before the nuke.
It makes me unbelievably sad but at least that way I will gain some inner satisfaction by releasing them... Still better than never being able to express my inner vision.
Sadly, some visions will stay unsatisfied but maybe if I become more relevant in the future, I can convince them to go the extra step of contacting the artist for me, and ask them if they have moral concerns.
Maybe some cinematics will be resurrected.
So most cinematics will get cut out from the game?
Will they just be gone or get new music and stay the same or reworked to fit new music?

And it's so sad how many hours were spent on them just to be butchered like that. How does PinkCake get away with using licensed music? I heard he buys single song for 199$ on PremuimBeat website - isn't it much cheaper than what Ocean had been using?

Ya I'm really worried about losing some of the music in the game. It adds a lot for me, personally. I've stopped playing some games in the past when there was no music as the environments felt dead to me without fitting music for the scene.

For me, it is not important. I mute all music anyway and put on my Spotify playlist
Summer's Gone music isn't all that good at the moment anyway, so it doesn't really matter to me unless the cinematic are going too. WiAB's lobby music is fire though.

I think so. Ocean is trying to get custom songs produced, and he was trying to get an entire library earlier - that's where his 10,000$ quote came from, I think.

BaDIK's Season 1 was almost Creative Commons Music, which is free to use.

DPC paid for all the music he used in Season 2. He has already paid for it, so there's 0 chance of Music being removed from Season 2.

Also, it depends on the License and I think that DPC deals with the artists personally. Either way, He has a lot of experience with how these things work.

Edit: Also, Ocean's budget is limited.

A quick question why do artists and companies care if their "love song” is featured in a piece of work which contains adult intercourse even if the song itself hasn't been used in that scene, is it some kind of marketing strategy or just moral faggotry and why can't ocean just leave the cinematics as they are but changing the audio instead of completely removing them seems like such a waste of electricity and render power why were those songs added in the game to begin with without reading the terms and conditions of their license seems like mismanagement on ocean's part to me.

It just depends on the artist or the company.

Many are fine with their music being used in a Porn game.

As for the Cinematics, I agree with you. (y)

If he makes a deal with a band he could ask them to make a piece with the tempo of the previous cinematic, so the new song would still fit in.

Keyword in your idea is IF. And it's not just the tempo. It's also the feel.

And all that also takes time. So in the meanwhile what can a perfectionist like Ocean do other than remove the whole cinematic?
