Well Ocean says on discord all the time that there is no sister.
I can just quote yesterday: "And of course, there's no sis in the game, that would be agaisnt Patreon ToS".
I don't read EVERYTHING on discord, but even then I find that statement 2 or 3 times a week. And I don't really see why statements on discord would make problems for Patreon. Or he could just stay silent and say nothing about that stuff at all.
Yes see my comment above. it appears Ocean was going for giving the sense to the reader that they are related without actually being related to avoid the Patreon rules based on some things in the game that have been pointed out but perhaps Ocean doesn't like to talk about it when asked in discord? Dunno why.

Because if a complaint is made to Patreon about content in breach of their ToS, statements by the devs on other platforms like discord, SubscribeStar, even f95 could be used as evidence.

So if some dev is circumventing incest restrictions via maintaining a patch, it's in their best interests to completely dissociate themselves from it, and outright deny any claims that they are producing said patch. The 'evil modder' exists to provide plausible deniability if Patreon starts asking questions.

People who follow these games closely know who's making the patch. The first rule of incest content production is don't talk about incest content production.

Ok, I find it a bit hard to believe that companies like Patreon are investigating better/more throughly than german offices - else there would be no one able to cheat on taxes - but, I take your word for it. Talking about priorities in western countries...

Oh, they do on occasion. That's why some games have had ti undergo sudden plot changes years into development. Fetish Locator was the most recent that comes to mind.

Well it's a kind of a different experience since there is no sex scene in like, 4 years of development? I dunno, but in my case I'd say it's the MC, since he is not just another horny teenager who wants to bang with anything with a vagina in it and he tends to call them out when he's pissed.
And the slow burn, I tend to skip sex scenes in a lot of games to follow the plot but I think this will may be one of the few out there that will make satisfactory scenes.
Same here, I mostly skip through them, just glance at the text.
But a few good VN's do manage to make the lewd scene's part of the story/character development. Showcasing insecurities and so on. As for SG, WiaB shows that he can create really good animated scenes, but in SG's case, I really do enjoy the slow burn.

Overall, really enjoying it so far.

I also saw that yesterday, the spicy part of the post was not the thing about the sis but the part that points to the ToS from patreon. :)

Yes, Patreon is likely to use evidence like F95 or dicord. I, for myself have reported some creators on patreon for stuff that was here published - pretty sick shit, with kids(!) who clearly weren't even close to the age that could be called pupertary.

The depicted characterswere officially all 18+ (talking about refuse to see the the obvious...) but there was a "build in" possibility to play the game "as intended". The patreon was removed shortly after that and here too.

If you report someone on patreon you have to click through a couple of questions and put afterwards a evidence in:

From this point of view I can fully understand that a dev, with his income depends on patreon, is extremely carefull about confirming things that can ruin your life.

Feels like part of this thread might get purged for OT soon but anyway.
I understand your report in this particular case but also recognize that this "something outside of patreon" option sets a dangerous precedent. Patreon shouldn't care what you do outside of Patreon as long as it isn't directly connected to your work. Perfectly meshes with social media cancel culture which I despise.

I know exactly what you mean and how you feel about this, but this was not my point. I wanted just to point out how dangerous - for exact this reasons - it can be to do as you like when your fate depends one on certain thing. This complete "snitching/chancel culture" and the connected supression of unlikely opinions dosen't make it easier to be free minded.

Patreon doesn't really have to "investigate" anything, all that has to happen is that someone reports the person. They just sit back and wait for someone to make a complaint, look at it, and make a decision. Because credit card companies are cracking down on those types of things, Patreon has to so that they can continue to accept credit cards.

Sucks ass to have to relay on such shitty business "partners". If I had ANY artistic talent, THAT would really turn me off.

Yeah, I'm working on a game and I'm trying to decide if I'll go for Patreon (It will fit their ToS I'm pretty sure) or do SubscribeStar since they don't (yet) have the draconian policies that Patreon does. Even though my game should fit their ToS, I'm kind of inclined not to use them so they don't get the money.

That statement does seem to be a bit "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" though.

It's like saying "And of course Qatar didn't give any backhanders to host the World Cup, that would be against the law.".
