The experiments on animals are "for science and progress", the love affairs between students and professors are just rumours and gossip, and as far as I can remember the women's basketball team doesn't appear in season 1, they were resting at a spa, so it's just more evil rumours :Kappa:.
Forget to add sexual harassment.:HideThePain:

You make good points. I don't think that SG will be a light novel, but lighter than WiaB, but this depends on how dark it will be. The modeling thing is an interesting perspective, Leia could use it, although not with Sasha, but Katie would be part of it ? Too many question, too little information.
I have a feeling that Summer's Gone may turn out to be darker as a whole, but the path of the protoganist will be lighter and vice versa in WIAB the whole story will be lighter but William will sink into a darker path. In WIAB the entire burden rests on the street gangster drama for now, in SG there are more personal dramas happening in the privacy of homes and from the very beginning of the game and the dream with Summer I have similar feelings known from Lynch's films, a feeling that something is very wrong but I can't fully describe it. Apparently these psychedelic flowers have messed with my head so much and the appearance of a classic Willem Dafoe character in the form of Officer Cerill didn't help

Abso-fucking-lutely no chance! None whatso-fucking-ever!

Ocean had his chance to tell a darker story and he utterly backtracked. This could have been an engaging story about someone lost in a very dark place due to some very traumatic events that slowly crawls back into the light. Could have delved into subjects like suicide, death, psychopathy etc... Instead we have the story of a weird dude that's kind of a prick and suffers from mild anxiety because his teen crush moved out of town a few years ago.

This story is so ludicrously sanitized you can barely argue with a straight face that is directed at an adult audience. This is dating sim level shit. This is teen romance novel type shit. Straight up. The lack of mature themes in SG is about as inconspicuous as a naked 300 pound man dancing in front of your eyes. Besides the nudity what do you have?
- Drugs? No.
- Violence? No.
- Sex? Fucking LOL :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
- Smoking? Wasn't the smoking lady in the café cinematic removed too? :ROFLMAO:
- Guns? That's gone. Unless you count Bella's lighter.
- Sexual harrassment? Only if the victim is male, cuz that's funny. The other way around it would be a nono for publishers.
- Strong or offensive language? Only if you think "cunt" or "fuck"crosses a line you soy fuck.

Bottom line? SG is as vanilla and mainstream as vanilla and mainstream get. It won't get darker than you've already seen. If you want a more mature story try the Twilight Saga. Play the original Life is Strange.

I agree with you on WiAB though. That should be a more grown up story but still very mild considering it's going to Steam.

Drugs are there, Sasha gives Nika a pill in chapter 5 :Kappa:.

Violence is there too, Bella attacks Nika when he asks her about her sister and there's the fight with Zac?, I can't remember his name, the guy who likes Nami, when Nika ends up with a black eye.

If it really is as you say and he does not intend to go into darker tones in the future, focusing on, as you say, Steam mainstream vanilla experience. In my opinion, he is mercilessly overestimating the marketing reach of his games. What is he counting on? AVN is and will be a complete niche in the video game market from what I have seen, the most reviews that AVN game has on Steam is Fresh Woman with 15,000, what mainstream is he aiming at? Unless he dreams that his game will be some kind of breakthrough, the first game of this type that will really break through and become recognizable on a larger scale. It would make more sense not to impose any restrictions, aiming at a non-existent mainstream audience, but to do everything to make his game unique and offer an experience that you will not find in any other game of this type, focusing on its true audience of fans of the niche genre that is AVN

I get what you're saying but I think he's doing fine and will keep doing fine. There are plenty of creators focused on fully vanilla content that do very well. MrDots for example.

All I'm saying is Ocean clearly picked a lane and will most likely stick to it. So we should manage our expectations accordingly :)

Technically right but...I mean...THC gummy bears? Really? No "hardcore drugs" then.

Violence is there too, Bella attacks Nika when he asks her about her sister and there's the fight with Zac?, I can't remember his name, the guy who likes Nami, when Nika ends up with a black eye.
Also technically correct but...c'mon guys. That's hardly "violence". That type of content could feature in a kids schoolbook. Or am I just super desensitized? A scuffle with a couple of thrown punches and a hugging session with Bella is hardly what I'd classify as "violent" but ok. I'm not dying on this hill

I don't think so, WiaB seems the darker story out of the two. As I said I don't think that SG will be light but lighter, ultimately SG has a hopeful tone where WiaB does not. SG does seems to be a much more character driven story where WiaB is less so, so maybe we will have more personal drama in SG. About Summers dream, can't say I have seen Lynchs movies, but while it has its narratives purposes, I always have a feeling that the dream is not entirely true, like is a idealized version of what happened. Defoe with BIG TITTS.

While I agree, I think it has space to explore darker themes. Not that it will necessarily become a dark story, this sheep has sale, but I don't think it needs to stay teen romance, it can have more depth than that. At least I hope it will.

It's a miracle that the college hasn't been shut down, porn logic I guess. Let's see: animal experiments, several cases of male and female professors having sex with students, the first women's basketball team bribing the principal with naughty pictures and probably sexual favors. Yeah, it looks like it's all good.:BootyTime:
who knows, maybe if Nika makes the first team, he'll get his own "place of business" office on campus all without ever showing his face even once...oh wait..different basketball AVN :KEK:

That's Sai.

To add to your list:
- Vic being hit in the first place
- fucking Seigbert, the avatar of ultraviolence, spontaneously manifested after Mario watched True Romance for the 12th time in a row.
- when Bella rams the dude with her car.

Curious is Katie a MILF who is her kid?
We don't know, the suspicion is there might be, but all we know in WiaB was she had a girlfriend, and a massive sideserving of unfulfilled lust for William.

I get what you're saying but I think he's doing fine and will keep doing fine. There are plenty of creators focused on fully vanilla content that do very well. MrDots for example.

You're right, there's nothing shocking. Having said that, there's nothing shocking in WiaB either. The jam on the arm for Nika's wound in the violent incident, Vic's blood that looks just like, I don't know? Dirt? The Seigbert bloodless scratches.

But yeah, no sudden eviscerations, no gang shootups. I don't think it fits, but to some extent, NIka could be living in a troubled neighbourhood rather than by a nice lake, make it look grim. OH well. I mainly miss the idea that Nika crawls out of where he was, currently it feels like we simply accept his trajectory out of the hole, and Nami, Sasha, Vic whoever will carry him to the finish line almost regardless of what he does. I'd like to think that Ocean writes choices that turn LI against you, not just turn off LI status, but actually cause them to dislike you and only tolerate your presence - ie Zara going back to being bitchy like Nika's ripped her top.

Language wise I don't know how you can have anything much more hardcore than fuck or cunt. The only thing more intense is string them together to make longer, more articulate sentences, like "Fuck those fucking fuckers now cunt." Other than swearing, the only thing is using politically incorrect language, like Stahl's racism. USe it and have him called out for it, makes it non offensive but still keeps the violence of language.

So many different levls of potential, and I'll still play whatever we get and I'm sure I'll enjoy most of it, regardless of what could have been.

Don't think that we will gonna get much more fight, Nika seems to favor mind games. Also I kinda like Dwight, he as a vibe of charismatic douche.
A man can only dream, well at least the lessons of fighting with ayua remain. As for Dwight, the guy plays his asshole role perfectly, the only problem I have with him are those weird tendencies he has and the groping.:HideThePain:
