I totally believe it. Nika as an MC doesn't know who Katie is or what she's done, and neither do we when we see here at the book club. So a "Hi, I'm Katie" hits us differently than if we've played a completed WiaB. Half the fun I have is seeing the connections grow in tandem. Not everyone is like me, I get that, but I'll stand by the idea that currently the mysteries in each play off each other, and create a meta narrative between the two. We wouldn't have theories otherwise.

This is why we're blind to the past - as we're seeing it from NIka's perspective, he doesn't know about the Zanes at all. A finished WiaB destroys that illusion. What in SG says anything ominous about Katie, ZPR or anything? We have that only because of WiaB. Nika is more worried about Noji hiding things from him than who Katie is or who Sasha's mom is. The only concerns Nika has 1. himself (all the things, pocket rockets, foggy brain etc) 2. mice infestations 3. girls. 4. basketball. Emilio is the only criminal (other than Bella) that he really knows.

The question is, how long can it go before Ocean drops spoilers for WiaB in SG? It would be stilted storytelling to keep the leapfrog going right unto the last season.

Also, the money thing. I 100% believe if Ocean dropped WiaB and focused solely on SG updates twice as fast, it's be great for him financially. But I don't want him to drop WiaB, because I see them as a joined story and well, Katie.

I went out to a live music thing last night, don't worry ...too much :coffee::whistle:

my last music fest was defected croatia during the summer , Roger Sanchez and Idris Elba(YES ! , that Idris Elba) gigs were amazin and now waiting for summer 2025 'cause i'm planning to take vacations on Ibiza .

It feels like Ocean is preparing a lot of terrain for Nika to overcome his "problem" and finally be able to have a sexual relationship with his LI. I don't know if there will be a scene for each of the current LI's, but imo it feels like the story is going to a place where this will finally happen.

I don't think there'll be hardcore sex, but he most likely will be giving Bella an oral. I think it's implied in one of the previews.

You brought out a very good point for the reasons why it makes sense to present these two games step-by-step simultaneously, that I've never thought about.

Now I have a gut feeling that this has been Ocean's master plan from the very beginning exactly for the reasons you named here.

Initially he hoped that he could rely on Regium to be able to work on SG while he's working on WIAB himself and he's been working on both games since that hope failed, with this simultaneous presentation of both timelines step-by-step being one of the main reasons for pushing himself like that.

Sure, it may be good to switch between the games to avoid burnout and it would certainly be a shame to drop either of the games even temporarily to work on just a single one, but THIS is actually one of the main reasons that he's been keeping to himself - to keep the players of SG as blind about the past as Nika and the players of WIAB in the dark about whatever may happen in WIAB before the SG timeline starts, that may be revealed by SG.

I don't believe it's a master plan, but it's an unintended benefit. Think of it like this - imagine in the future when both games are complete, how would anyone play them in the order of development? The only way would be to have WiaB and SG set within the same game and done as flashbacks/flashforwards. Otherwise, unless I play 2 chapters of SG first, I'll be out of sync with the dev progress.

THere's definitely a meta-narrative, otherwise the games wouldn't be set in the same world, with some of the same characters. As far as Ocean's development goes, we can see the links - Donna appears in Ch2, Reveras are mentioned in SG in Ch4.5. Who didn't get a wow moment seeing Emilio appear without tatts or facial hair as a non gay non barber? (Maybe he becomes that from how he survives prison? or joins a gang for the tatts?) The point being is that OCean is thinking of both games while making each of them right now. I'm happy for the unintended benefit, it's like Dali's Persistence of Memory.

The history of WiaB pre rework shows us that there was no master plan in the development - Ocean got model upgrades and noticed that the characters looked so much better that miru wouldn't need to make people's eyes bleed. So now we're here, and I'm enjoying the link ups as Ocean's thinking about the scenes in a leapfrog manner due to co-development.

Edit: I should also say, now that it's happening in this way, and since WiaB's patreon got nuked, he's had to think about the meta narrative more concisely, and keep the games mysteries from impacting each other. That's had the effect of OCean keeping his cards close, and we get to wonder how it fits. It's an absolutely great mechanism, but I see it as fortuitous rather than as a plan, Ocean finding his feet between the two games after all the dust settled from the reworks. Now, he might actively be using that mechanism, or it's just a consequence of working on the two, things about scenes stay in the surface of his mind and he cross links stuff.

Dude, the problem isn't WiAB, the problem is that Ocean has no responsibilities! It's simple, the guy preferred to spend 2024 without any news in SG and then to fool us "I'm going to release two updates in one!" There are devs who deliver 3k renders 2/3 times a year.

Then you get to the point where "but if it weren't for WiAB he would have already delivered", well if we take into account that he has about 9k renders in SG, that would be 3 updates per year and still he has WiAB with SLA, 4k renders? Well, WiAB isn't slowing him down at all!

Anybody know what the console variable "bellad" is representative of?
Is it MC dominance over Bella, or Bella dominance over MC?
