I don't really like MIla's model, but I'll bite.

Mila is the first girl at the college to try to befriend Nika. She goes out of her way to let him know he can talk to her, potentially crossing boundaries by making it personally awkward. She also accepts some of Nika's statements at face value, even when they both know he is lying, so I'd say she's actively trying to help him fit in; by this, I mean she doesn't push the issue, and respects his right to keep things to himself. She also pushes Vic at Nika, she can see how much Vic and NIka both need friends.

Personally I don't like that last one, well meaning friends can be a curse at times, but her intention is good.

Lastly, she tries to be self sufficient, and is trying to make her own way.

Compared to Bella, Mila's actively working to minimise the affect of her past on her present. Bella's got a free playing field relatively speaking, and basically avoids moving forward because her life is comfortable enough that she can hide from painful questions.

As a model, Bella is better, but as far as personality traits, Bella's a loose canon, and Mila is far more trustworthy. You're judging Mila for things she did when she was a teenager, without keeping in mind Bella's an even worse level of two facedness. Consider how she treats Kate and even Robyn - 'judgemental, bigoted, cowardly' completely describes Bella.

I get that you don't like her, but you've demonised her for the same faults you accept in Bella. That's why I made the comparison. SUre they're different, but Bella's far more antisocial, far more a bitch. It's only that the story forces you to interact whith her that you find out about her trauma. It's pretty lame to like the judgmental attitudes etc. in one character but hate them in another. Basically, you like Bella's model and screen time more than Mila, you're not really looking at her as a character independant the visual aspect and the forced aspect of the narrative.

You're expecting 1st year college students all with different degrees of trauma and shitheadedness to all be logical and make good choices? College AVN's are ALL about the stupid choices, or how to survive the stupid choices. Mila has good intentions, while Bella starts with malicious pranks. And yes, Mila's the first girl (other than Nami, I did mention girl rather than Trey) that takes the time to talk with Nika. I don't count the interaction with Bella as a conversation - Nika was just finding out who the anti-Nami person was.

Also, yes, Mila's actions as a kid were shitty. So were Nika's we can guess, based on the dropped charge, and so were Nami's based on her and Nika's suss deal. Zara's attitudes? Still a bit shitty. Bella's are very shitty, not sure her mental issues would gt her off the hook for her criminal activities. It's a college AVN, they're only barely adult, especially seeing there's no 18+ content - thy might be legal, but they're damn well acting immature

Bella is judgmental. How many times does she judge Nika on his looks and lack of wealth? And the same for MIla, but that's a different thing as we discover there is bad blood, but she still judges Mila on her poverty, much like the people she despises. And doesn't she judge the Holgersons without having any real proof of anything? Our whole perspective on Stefan is biased on Bella's judgment. THen the way she talks at the diner, also judging people for ostentatious wealth. And judging NIka over Elsa being out of his league and him staring hopelessly...

Cowardly, well, okay, not so accurate a descriptor, but about as equivalent as it applies to Mila. As Mila was beaten up her whole life, does coward really suit her? In her case it's pavlovian reflex, learned behaviour. Mila also has stood up for people, so coward doesn't fully describe her.

Edit: I focused on that bit and didn't flesh out my reply. 'she will do 10x what was done to her.' This is what most bullies start from. This is why she bullied Nami, sight unseen (how did that even happen?). Both Bella and Vanessa I have trouble with, in that I wouldn't be friends with them in real life, because I'd be switched off by their antics. As characters in an AVN, they stir up a lot of narrative choices, so they're great as antagonists, even if they're not 100% intended as such. Having such polarising characters works wonders for the depth of the story and where it can go. I imagine Adrianna will be similarly feisty.

In the same way, Kate is not meant to be a nice character, and her motives are underhanded. I can't wait to see how Ocean shoehorns her into the drama, much in the same way Vanessa is dangerous - but because of her connections to the Holgersons though, the magnitude of how she can screw Nika up is much higher than anything Kate can do.

It'll be interesting to see how nasty a piece of work Melanie is. I wonder if she'll be hidden in the background somewhere this update - I'm guessing it's too early to actually interact with her this next chapter.

After realizing that things went too far, Mila had the courage to took Bella's defense knowing that would also make her a target. Which was brave considering everybody seemed to be afraid of Melanie. Years later, Bella became herself a second Melanie Cerill bullying a newcomer with no friends like Nami ( easy target ) out of spite but somehow Mila is a coward but Bella isn't ?

I'm not into her, it's just the level of 'she's unforgiveable' while Bella is a criminal and promotes breaking the law to get revenge, and is happy to try and destroy families using strangers (Vanessa).

Something is up there, there's a either a continuity error, or something else is going on we're yet to find out about, or Bella is really oblivious. THere's no way she wouldn't recognise Zara's sister, and it seems improbably that she wouldn't have met her.

GOing back to the glazing:

The Holgersons. Zoey's great right? Mario's a douche, but it's the people he's around that are nasty.

So Zoey still hangs out with her brother, we know that from the rework. Is Zoey now on the side of the evil? We need to know more. Stefan raising charges, that's a thing. But we need to wait to see if he's using it to draw out the real criminals. He's underhanded, yes, but so is Bella and Nika. There's no way you can defend them from breaking and entering, or from planning to break the Holgersons, and using Brenda as collateral.

Kate, well she is nasty. But that doesn't make her bad for the story. Not trying to sugar coat her, she exists because Ocean wants to challenge people following Bella's path. But the way Bella treated her and threatened her shows Bella's not great either. We still have no idea what Kate has done to her. But the reason I don't like Kate is purely because she has an ulterior motive, she's not interested in Nika, just social leverage.

Again, Bella has done a hit and run, the guy flys over the bonnet, that's no tap. She's broken into a house, and stolen, fully intending to steal. She's willing to break up families and use strangers for twisted plots. She's invaded someone's privacy, breaking into their phone. She's doing illegal street racing.

Compare that to Mila, who did get the courage in the end. What is MIla doing that's so criminal? Why does Bella get the free passes? Oh, because she's not a seahorse (and yes, her model is atrocious).

I will totally admit that Bella will do things for Nika. That doesn't mean she's not holding a grudge against Mila, just that she wan't to please Nika now.

I'm not into Mila by the way, I wasn't even before Ocean ruined her model, it's just the comparison is pretty unfair when you look at it logically.

There is no continuity error. There is a plot misunderstanding. In fact, the real Bella - Amber's daughter - is the girl who is sleeping. She is the one Amber is worried about, she is the one in danger. She does not have a sister!!! What you think is Bella is not Bella. She knows Vanessa very well and works with her in the Holgerson house. She threw Amber a tantrum not because she is afraid that Holgerson will seduce her. No, it's just that if Amber sees Vanessa, she will understand what is happening and will not allow Vanessa to do her dirty deed.

Zara is shown as being pretty little, and the implication is that it's been a while since it happened. So Bella knew her from about the age she was bullied by Melanie, as they're the same year in college flashback Zara and flashback Bella are both bibi. Mario was around Mila and Bella at that age from the flashbacks. So Vanessa is only a few years older than Zara, so might have even gone to the same school back then. But she wasn't driving herself places, she also was young. And I'm sure that kids would gossip about the girl with the eyes around Zara and Bella would've hear about Vanessa. Especially as they were on the same football team.

I totally agree with that last part, but don't forget that Bella is an actual criminal, with the illegal street racing scene, and would have run over those assholes if they didn't jump out of the way. In fact, she did hit one of them, now that I think about it. She is the one that went beyond vandalism into breaking and entering and grand larceny.

Mila is a normal(ish) human being, and seems empathetic and caring now, despite the childhood bullying which she clearly regrets. She also seems to have at least a little ethics and morals, since she won't date you if you're dating Vic. If you don't think she's hot, that's fine, she still is a really good friend.

I aknowledged the points you like about Mila and even thanked you for trying to make her more likeable to me, for me (!) these points were not really convincing and felt lackluster but i did not dismiss them or anyone liking her because of that. I mean she literally talked to him because he was the one sitting next to her (and the other guy was .. troy? who she knows already and is .. well troy?).

The only reason i mentioned bella at all was because of their shared backstory. It wasnt about Bella, you could switch bella with person x or lets say troy lol and it would change nothing in my perception of Mila if she would have treated troy the same way afterwards.

Zara is shown as being pretty little, and the implication is that it's been a while since it happened. So Bella knew her from about the age she was bullied by Melanie, as they're the same year in college flashback Zara and flashback Bella are both bibi. Mario was around Mila and Bella at that age from the flashbacks. So Vanessa is only a few years older than Zara, so might have even gone to the same school back then. But she wasn't driving herself places, she also was young. And I'm sure that kids would gossip about the girl with the eyes around Zara and Bella would've hear about Vanessa. Especially as they were on the same football team.

Edit: But as was pointed out to me - I've confused part of it with an older version. Now there's the phone conversation while Nika's at the Benz's place, where before Bella used to talk about going out with a real bimbo. Damn having too many versions floating around in my head



I answered your question. You find it lackluster because you claimed the things I listed aren't good enough. Such as Mila showing concern, and offering to listen to him. Dismiss that all you like, but that's actually really cool, even if it's awkward. The comparison of Bella's first interactions with him pulling him down, treating him with disdain is more likeable? I'd totally keep talking to MIla and not deal with Bella if that was my introduction to two people in real life.

And Bella being a criminal, and being okay with Mila taking the blame for it until Nika calls her out on it? What's Bella's big plan to solve the problem she's created for Mila? To own up for breaking and entering to get Mila off the hook for something she didn't do? If you can't see that Bella is a far worse person than Mila, well some criminals aren't two faced either. Some criminals are even charming.

The fact that you like Bella despite her general shittiness and you make excuses for it because of her trauma, while you don't excuse any of Mila's behaviour on her abusive upbringing... well, what's there left to say? You like who you like. I just don't think Mila's that unlikeable over such small things while Bella's done a lot of unlikeable, dangerous and reprehensible things.

These rewrites and long times from the game fucks with us. Shit to be honest I wrote her sister instead of Vanessa I totally forgot her name.

it has been so long since a story update on this, i have forgotten most of the story. i guess that the dev is focused on monetizing the old content for steam and is not giving the story update any attention. hence the long time between updates. yeah i know, they are redoing the chapters. if this game wasn't so visually appealing, i would never bother with it even once a new update comes out.
