Also, 20 fucking years passed between those two games, a lot changed. The so-called "mafia" element is going to be background noise, or maybe a minor intrigue in the future, for example the gay barber still being connected to the black market and looking for Nika's background "just in case".

SG is a college themed VN. The majority of the plot will be healing, college rivalry, sports, sex, romance and shit like that. It has no place for a major Mafia or criminal underworld plot.

Yet. As we get more of the character backstories, and meet more of the old WIAB people, it will come into play, if not actively, then in backstory explanations. Even if all the mob bullshit is resolved in WIAB 22 years before this game (or however long it becomes), it will still have profound effects on anyone related to the WIAB characters.

Rest assured, SG won’t go down that road. It’s not turning into a mafia-style VN. Nika and the crew might deal with some part of it poking around, but they’ll sort it out and move on, keeping things grounded.

Besides, Ocean wouldn't dare making TWO Mafia themed VN.

i feel like ocean painted himself in a corner here with the new twist to WIAB . i like the direction but it kill his monthly subs. with all the new characters , the new families, the main plot, side plots it will take years to put together a decent update. unless he puts out smaller updates about every 3 months no one will sub knowing they have wait 1 to 2 years for an update.. with SG the same thing is happening . every one will just wait for it to be leaked because the wait is so long..
