Help me figure this:

1- Game is set to Abandoned, because rules. So, officially, no one knows if the game is in development.
2- The thread is banned to discuss development, because rules. So, officially, someone knows that there's development.

Isn't this a case of either / or ? Or can both opposing arguments be true?

I'll stick to asking the questions, better brains can handle the answers...

Peace :(

Quick question for everyone: do you have any concerns ahead of the release? The expectations are really high. Do you think Ocean will deliver and meet your expectations, or are you approaching it with more distance after such a long gap since the last update?

If I've learned anything from AVN, it's not to set expectations at all. And don't get too attached to any particular AVN. Just enjoy the new releases as they come out.

And you need to be prepared for that a developer can abandon any game for a variety of reasons: it could be a hobby they've grown tired of. They could be starving because the game's revenue didn't meet expectations and they've decided to find a job. They might be looking for their unique style, try different genres, and abandon the next project at the first sign of trouble. They could have a terminal illness. They could suffer from a mental breakdown. They could start exploiting their fan base, no longer delivering the minimal appropriate results.

So yes, distancing yourself from the drama surrounding any given developer or game sounds perfectly reasonable. I personally feel the same way about any AVN, and it didn't come right away.

But to get back to SG, in my opinion, Ocean took too much risk by making the update so big and taking so long to develop. By making more frequent small updates, he would have more opportunities to test his ideas and evaluate the players' reactions, and adjust anything that didn't work out well. And no matter how massive the update is, it won't stay long in the spotlight. New shiny releases of other games will quickly steal players' attention. I hope he truly meant it and will get back to shorter updates.

I'm almost certain the update won't disappoint, unless he's done something completely out of line. But judging by the devlogs, previews, and the latest WiAB release, that's unlikely. It'll be the same old, good SG that I like.

I can tell you right now what's coming next. If the update comes out at all, it's going to have some problems. The first problem is the long gap between updates. No one on Steam will wait that long for updates, especially since the first part wasn't very successful. Therefore, the update needs to be truly interesting and surpass the first season. To do that, it needs to create an interesting plot or interesting sex scenes. We all know Ocean is a good artist, but a crappy writer, so you can't count on an interesting plot. And the second problem is that there are rumors that Ocean is doing an update without sex. If this is true, the game will be a huge flop on Steam, even worse than the failure of Season 1.

how is SG s1 a flop on steam?
17000 copies sold
94% positive rating

Most people liked it and only lamented bcz there wasn't much sex going on, otherwise most liked it
I liked the story so far as well, well branched out
Ocean randomly has to have a drastic drop in narration for it to flop like you said

Save the dick worship for 30 days later. Update is delayed again. :D
Hey I'm just saying his renders are damn good. As far the update?
Dude it's been constantly pushed back! Nothing new about that!
It's pretty much a given as he's the slowest Dev I've ever saw.
It's why I stop being a sub after the Beta of chapter 5 season 1.
The story was finish.....he wasn't and well....here we are again!:ROFLMAO:

I think this is exactly the magic word: not getting stuck on a single game and constantly trying out newly released ones. I used to love this game and would eagerly wait for every new update. But as I started playing new games, my interest in this one gradually faded. Now I’m in a “if it’s there, fine; if not, also fine” mindset.
