It has become obvious they're milking those patreons as much as possible.
I don't know what I would've done in their position though... 46k per month is A LOT of fucking money. When Summertime Saga is finished, they wont have to lift a finger for the rest of their lives.

Well, the game is free, so patreons support the game because they want to. Unlike many other projects nobody ever spend a single dollar to play the game and everybody gets it on day one. I mean, those who aren't happy will just stop supporting and that's how it is.

Edit: Else it's indeed worth noting that those longer updates came along with a massive increase in quality. Not only much more content and better art/animation, but better quest quality, story depth, etc.

Looks like you Otter get your eyes checked, bud.
Well, I am blind as a bat. XD Though it could be the stylization (besides, beaver is funnier).

But, I do desperately need a new pair of reading glasses, but I have to wait to get a referral from my general doctor, for my 'insurance' to cover it, but they won't see me in any kind of decent time (if at all)... Also, I have a pinched nerve in my back/shoulder, so I cant sit close enough to see the screen w/o my glasses, nor can I sit far enough away to see it with them...

When I started following the game, I think they were down in the high four-figure range. I'm not sure how many people are on the team right now (half a dozen or so?), but they aren't taking in anything like Fuck You money

I remember when Roz's scene and the entire Aqua story was released on Halloween last year with no warning, and it didn't even delay 14.5 which was a full sized update a month later. They were making a fourth of what they are now and yet development has inexplicably slowed down while the volume of new content has remained the same. ::|:

The volume of content has actually decreased. It looks the same because of bigger updates taking longer time but if you bring them down to scenes per month they are actually less. I won't go into details because I got a lot of heat from his fans when I showed the statistics :/ So, anyway, whatever.

Well, I'd say that's to a degree true if you take the very first updates which were done at a much lower art quality and with quests/story elements that bloated the content a bit, like those repeating scenes in Jenny's story which create a lot of somewhat low quality playtime and demand basically no additional work from DC. Now he moved quite a bit away from those "earn money and buy item x" and other repating quests recently which does indeed take more time but improves the game content wise. I'd personally say that the content per timeframe is basically the same and will stay the same. Simply because the speed is limited by DC drawing the art and if DC draws X amount of art per week/month/year that's the content well get, no matter if they earn 20.000, 30.000 or 50.000 per month.

I thought I was the only one who was thinking its been awhile since the last update was released. It used to not take this long,I figured it was due to the game being larger and the overhauls but then I read he has a bigger team.So who knows *shrugs*

Whether you think the content is updated an acceptable rate or not, I dislike posts like this.

The game is not made for free, people do not donate to it as if it where a charity.

Also the idea that you shouldn't criticize something you pay for or in this case subsidize is absurd. Don't run a business, if your first step on the customers not liking a specific aspect is to tell them to stop paying, you won't be around for very long.

Since it's so focussed on DC's work and since it's quite personal due the streams and communication I'd not really compare it to a normal business but indeed to other artists. And those on Patreon aren't customers, let alone investors, but fans who support the whole thing. Of course musicians, actors, athletes and others have to be considerate of their audience/fans but it's certainly not a normal business relationship.

Edit: I mean, we can't go to our favourite bands, actors, etc. and actually demand certain content because we may or may not pay for it. They create something and it's up to us to decide if that "something" is worth paying something or not. And in this case it's even better for us because one can still "enjoy" DC's work without paying anything if you aren't "I'd-pay-for-that-happy" with it.

Exactly! Why should he change, if enough people who like what he does supports him? He makes more than any other adult game on patreon, and almost more than any other project at all, so clearly, people like what he is doing, most of us seem to think he is going in the right direction with it. So, why would he change it? If 'you' don't like it, either go take it up with them on the patreon, discord, or whatever, or stop your support.
This is not even the same as a AAA project, where they do what they want for X years, and then you take it or leave it, DC takes constant feedback, and input from his supporters, more than just about any other I have seen.

I'd actually even disagree insofar as I'm pretty sure that DC would like to increase the speed and would like to find a second artist who is "basically him" and will deliver just what he himself delivers. But I can understand that it's almost impossible to get that. He talked about it some time ago and one problem seems to be that "Indy porn games" are indeed one of the worst things most professional artists can imagine and thus it's basically impossible to actually get the really good artists who can deliver quality and have at least a little experience (even for good money) since they obviously have the choice within the animation industry and don't want to work on projects like SS since they can't use them in their portfolio etc. or start their own indy projects right away if they want to get away from the industry.

So I'd say it's basically stuck at the current speed and money won't change that. And in the end that's not even a really bad thing: Yes, it'll take longer but at least everything is done by the same person, in the same style, same humor and with the same, positive picarto chat influence etc. we have now.

But that indeed doesn't really change anything else you've said. It's going well and most/many/enough people seem content with what they get. At least as long as the updates stay good.

Yeah, he just talked about that in the stream the other day/week. He can't afford anyone who is good enough to realistically match his style, and willing to work on this kind of game, rather than their own project or a higher paid studio. Same problem it's always been. Good artists are hard to come by, and not cheap when you do. That's why so many use so many pre-generated Daz models, they can churn out without much effort.

I wasn't talking about much older updates but two adjacent updates. Mia update which took roughly a month and teachers update which roughly took four. Mia update had more content than teachers update averaged. I have since lost interest in this game. Didn't even finish teachers update. But heard they are gonna focus on Diane this time, so thought of checking out the thread. Hope this update will have better content than last time.

The teachers were a step in the right direction, but you should check out Roxxy's.
