Roz looking surprisingly good when her mouth isn't locked in a catfish frown.
Yeah, I'm into grannies. Come at me.

It is interesting to me is how this point is constantly mentioned considering it seems as the art is never the bottleneck.Yeah, he just talked about that in the stream the other day/week. He can't afford anyone who is good enough to realistically match his style, and willing to work on this kind of game, rather than their own project or a higher paid studio. Same problem it's always been. Good artists are hard to come by, and not cheap when you do. That's why so many use so many pre-generated Daz models, they can churn out without much effort.
I don't think he would like to increase the speed at all. He is getting paid good money every month and as long as that does not change why would he want that check to stop coming every month? Also I do not understand why everyone talks about getting other artist so often considering that seems to be the first thing that is finished every update.I'd actually even disagree insofar as I'm pretty sure that DC would like to increase the speed and would like to find a second artist who is "basically him" and will deliver just what he himself delivers. But I can understand that it's almost impossible to get that. He talked about it some time ago and one problem seems to be that "Indy porn games" are indeed one of the worst things most professional artists can imagine and thus it's basically impossible to actually get the really good artists who can deliver quality and have at least a little experience (even for good money) since they obviously have the choice within the animation industry and don't want to work on projects like SS since they can't use them in their portfolio etc. or start their own indy projects right away if they want to get away from the industry.
So I'd say it's basically stuck at the current speed and money won't change that. And in the end that's not even a really bad thing: Yes, it'll take longer but at least everything is done by the same person, in the same style, same humor and with the same, positive picarto chat influence etc. we have now.
But that indeed doesn't really change anything else you've said. It's going well and most/many/enough people seem content with what they get. At least as long as the updates stay good.
Well, it's not really been a month but ~7 weeks in Mia's case (between 0.13 on 21st of august and 0.14 on 13th october) and the update is still regarded as one of the worst within the community. It had fewer sex scenes with few frames, no(?) minigames, a simpler story with less interactions etc.I wasn't talking about much older updates but two adjacent updates. Mia update which took roughly a month and teachers update which roughly took four. Mia update had more content than teachers update averaged. I have since lost interest in this game. Didn't even finish teachers update. But heard they are gonna focus on Diane this time, so thought of checking out the thread. Hope this update will have better content than last time.
Art is the absolute and so to say final bottleneck over time and the only one that really matters. Everything else only changes the speed between updates but doesn't change the overall pace of the development. Right now DC draws for 0.18 already so it doesn't really matter in the end if the other devs take a few weeks longer or not to pose and code for 0.17. If DC needs let's say 4 years to draw all the art, then the game will need ~4 years to be done.It is interesting to me is how this point is constantly mentioned considering it seems as the art is never the bottleneck.
Eh, yes and no, you have to remember that almost everything else is dependent on the art being done first. It is interesting to me is how this point is constantly mentioned considering it seems as the art is never the bottleneck.
Seeing as Missy appears to have a crush on you from the get-go, not being able to date her is pretty crummy. Seeing how she feels about you makes her way hotter.said that minor characters like her, Missy and Becca wouldn't be in the dating system.
Guess we'll see how much there is to her when the roadmap for the whole game comes out.Seeing as Missy appears to have a crush on you from the get-go, not being able to date her is pretty crummy. Seeing how she feels about you makes her way hotter.
I agree 100%, we need a lot more Missy content.Seeing as Missy appears to have a crush on you from the get-go, not being able to date her is pretty crummy. Seeing how she feels about you makes her way hotter.
If enough people want it, I am sure he can be persuaded. XDGuess we'll see how much there is to her when the roadmap for the whole game comes out.
It's not like more tasks haven't been added to prior versions...If enough people want it, I am sure he can be persuaded. XD
Every update the art is done well before everything else. Adding another artist would do nothing to increase development considering the art is already the first thing completed.Well, it's not really been a month but ~7 weeks in Mia's case (between 0.13 on 21st of august and 0.14 on 13th october) and the update is still regarded as one of the worst within the community. So I'd somehow like to see something better to be convinced. Everything else is of course up to you. While I personally didn't like the teacher's update that much either, I'd say Roxxy's update was by far the best until now.

So right now there's no need to even think about hiring more coders or posers since they'd be sitting around half of the time.
I think it helps to know that right now DC does almost nothing else but drawing and outlining the story. Dialogs are written by others, coding and posing is done by others, the HP is done by others and most of the administrative stuff is done by his wife.
Edit: Of course it would be nice to get the release a few days after the art is finished but I personally see that as a luxury, especially since it would mean that we'd have to wait that same amount of time longer to get the next update.
That is true to a certain point. I have never done this type of development but the time between the art being finished and the new version being released it seems they are doing more then replacing some placeholders and finishing up some animations. I could be wrong and the dev can do it however he likes, it's his game. I just don't think the art is the real bottleneck.Eh, yes and no, you have to remember that almost everything else is dependent on the art being done first.
Of course just hiring an artist wouldn't help either but the point that you'd need an artist first, before you can hire more coders and posers.Every update the art is done well before everything else. The art is done first, because you can't do the rest without it. How do you pose art that isn't there? You can't code art that isn't there...Every update the art is done well before everything else. Placeholders only go so far, you cannot do precision work, without the actual art. I am starting to do this kind of work, and it is very difficult to work without art. That is true to a certain point. It is not as if he does all the art and only then passes it along so they can then start working on everything else. All I am saying is when there is 3-4 weeks between him finishing the last piece of art and the release of a beta it is not as if the other people on the team are nipping at his heals.Of course just hiring an artist wouldn't help either but the point that you'd need an artist first, before you can hire more coders and posers.
Yes, art is done before everything else per update, but right when it's done the work for the next update starts. Right now the art is done and 0.17 will be out in 2 or 3 weeks. In that time DC works on 0.18 art so when 0.17 drops, the coders and posers have something to work on right away. So what I'm saying is, that the updates can't be released faster than DC is drawing. If he needs 3 months for 0.16, 0.17 and 0.18 each, than the time between those updates won't be shorter than 3 months, no matter what coding and posing is doing.
But the question is, if those few weeks are worth spending money on? Especially since it's a one time effect. As said, the update can't be done faster than the art is drawn and if 0.17 would drop right now we'd save 3 weeks now but 0.18 still wouldn't come earlier on that relativ scale. It's basic logic. All I am saying is when there is 3-4 weeks between him finishing the last piece of art and the release of a beta it is not as if the other people on the team are nipping at his heals.
Both of your points would be very valid if DC did all the art and then didn't give it to his team until everything is finished but that is not how it is done. Which is why I said I don't think the art is the real bottleneck. Look at it this way. If he was the bottleneck when he passes along the last piece of art that should be the only thing left to really implement (not including routine polish and testing) into the game and I can't imagine that would take 3-4 weeks. The art is done first, because you can't do the rest without it. How do you pose art that isn't there? You can't code art that isn't there...

Well it would come earlier obviously as they would be right up against him. They would be getting .17 out faster in a few days and be on the way to 0.18. As you said he has already moved on to the next update. What I said was adding another artist alone would not speed anything up. I have also said I don't think he wants to move faster and doesn't want to put updates out faster. He has people giving him a lot of money every month at the pace he is moving now and I would think he wants to keep doing that as long as he can. People tend to like money. But the question is, if those few weeks are worth spending money on? Especially since it's a one time effect.
