well I said it before but people started to rage at me and I am saying this again now , that this dev is just milking I mean how many renders is he gonna draw ? at its best this update will have 600 new renders but how many days we passed since last update ? over 120 days so you just do the math , it means at its best he is illustrating 5 renders each day .

for a guy who has been working as art director in bioshock it seems pretty unbelievable . and people say that he is working +12 hours per day for this game and that makes it even more unrealistic .

well I mean he just doesn't want to finish the project , I can draw a line in 30 sec but I also can draw same line in 3min I don't think illustrating models that you are working over 3 years on them should take that much of time

bu hey it is what it is no matter what people are gonna support him at the end because they like this game and they gonna get sad if dev abandon this project...

I have seen him working on steams where he was working on images which were part of the release which are still not out. And I am talking about the time at least 6 to 8 months ago.

He has used up much of the goodwill, I felt for the project. The last update was not very good and it took ages. I don't know how the silent majority feels, so I can only speak for myself. I will drop my long time support, if this update is just as bad. I do think, there are also a not insignificant amount of people—who feels the same way.

Giving excuse about number of bugs(are you kidding me)(BTW by profession I am a QA for last 9 years). The bugs surface because of
1. No timely testing of code.
2. Ignorance
3. Bad coding standards
As per my understanding SS has only one developer, so to maintain a code base it shouldn't be difficult. Apart from that as per my little understanding or knowledge other bugs are related to UI not functionality. UI bugs are never show stoppers.
Bringing in new UI guy, yes that's a valid point. It takes at least 1 months time for new guy to settle(but 6 months).
Comments about delayed animation: The guy hired is consultant they get paid by hours they work so if they cant deliver just replace or dont pay you will get your work on time .
Hey man, I know something about QA testing as well. In my opinion, there aren't even that many bugs - it's just a visual novel after all and there aren't any new minigames coming so it is as you say. They just check bugs every morning and reopen them in the google sheet as not fixed or wherever they have them listed. And then it goes full circle...

For example this day today, there was an influx of 20 new bugs, they have been testing this visual novel for over a month now? And suddenly 20 issues popped up? By progress bar they haven't even added anything new. Therefore it is obvious that there is a number of bugs that they're trying to deal with but so far they cannot. It's not like coder is a pro, if he was he'd be working at a real company and wouldn't waste time doing commissions for porn game :p

I also don't think money has anything to do with it, however, I disagree that it's because he needs another artist. I think he just needs a person to better organize the whole project. The team doing DMD and Melody is doing 2 games at once with a fixed schedule, and the product is still very high quality stuff. That's what great organization can do for a project. That's why no matter what you look at, whether it's in business or event in hospitals there's always a position of team manager to help guide everyone in the right direction.
I think hiring project manager would help more than hiring another artist or animator.

But it's a prideful thing, at the moment DarkCookie is managing the project and in my opinion his nature isn't too good for managing things, people who watch his streams can agree with me? Sadly he'd never hire project manager, like a real one with few years of experience.

Two reasons:

1)he is currently self-employed, and he cannot "hire" someone real unless he registers his company(certainly project manager cannot be commissioned unless he is fooling around haha ; p)
2)I can't bring myself to imagine patreon developer hiring project manager to help him organize things, it's just too vain.

1. Hiring manager doesn't make sense in such a project. There is a good joke about project managers. They are people who think that 9 women will give birth in one month. As a freelancer I would not hire a person who only tells me what to do and set unrealistic deadlines - this I could do by myself.

Another thing is about those "realistic dates". 2 weeks ago, after a week stuck at 97%, DC posted "almost finished" and that we wait for last 2 animations. At that point, bug testing should start. I can't imagine that now, after 2 weeks, we have 200 bugs with those 2 animations that were finally delivered. That is, in fact, bad project management.

0.17 was released 6 months ago - If this update doesn't end up having lots of content then I see no point in further supporting it.

No. There's 157 fixed out of 193.

so there is still 36 bugs to fix? on discord there are 5 or so QA testers online right now. could this mean the release is today? also why is the writing not at 100% yet?

DC and Sploosh both said 2 days ago that right only testing is left. That said, according to Dogeek a bug can be everything from real bugs to small posing errors which are fixed within minutes. So we don't really know how much work there's left and how many addtional testing runs they have planned. I think by now it's safe to say that it won't happen today, but sometime next week.

For every bug they fix they add 15 more. Hahahahahahahaha!

IT'S FUCKING RENPY! How are they fucking up the code so badly? This is even more hilarious than the fact they didn't know how to add saves when saves are a LITERALLY IN-BUILT MECHANIC OF RENPY! Hahahahaha!
Spoken like someone who doesn't understand programming. Having an engine that does some of the work for them does not take away the complexity and intricacies of programming.

Most people count from the November update, not the December update since the December update was two minutes long.
