So I was playing this game again and I decided to do the Aqua route and something annoyed me...

When you're going through the underwater cave, is there actually a way to figure out which way to go or are we always to rely on either A = Blind luck or B= Some guide somewhere?

I tried looking for clues/prompts on the screen but there's literally nothing to tell you if you went the wrong or right way or even how many different rooms you have to go through to finish...

Am I missing something or is that puzzle just REALLY badly designed?

(Don't message me with the correct answer, I looked it up already. I was just wondering if I missed the 'method' for navigating the underwater cave...)

As far as I'm aware the solution is the pattern on the globe on MC's attic. But yeah, it's really not that well done, given the missing clues to connect those two.

But at least we can be hopefull that they'll make it a little better once Aqua gets the rig-system rework.

uh guys, no one can say DC doesn't work on the game enough. I mean he does art streams so you can see part of the progress on his side.
its one thing to say updates are slow, or maybe that there needs to be more staff members since there 'should' be enough patreon income.
Its another thing to tell SS devs what they deserve. literally no one has the power to decide those things, its mostly luck man so leave it alone. Anyone claiming SS devs to be 'stealing' just for making so much money is just petty shit.

also, approx 17 MILLION views has come across F95 zone's thread for SS alone. lets be generous and say 100k of those viewers are unique since SS has had many updates. since DC makes 57k and also only has 22k patrons, that means a little more than 1/5 of us here actually pay for the game.
I don't usually see the 'wheres update' complainers having donor flair. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MONEY IF YOU AREN'T THE ONES SPENDING IT.

lets not beat around the bush, this is pretty much a pirating site. any1 here could just get the game free and not spend a dime. I don't think any1 except the donors can complain about this games update speeds. even then when something goes bad, its not like people won't just move on to something else. donor or no thats what most people gonna do.
hell I was a donor to cloud meadow for 4mo's, but the second I smelled bullshit I left it behind.
its good that we at least get to have dialogue with the devs from time 2 time, even though we still don't know as much as we would like behind the scenes. we seriously have an honest game here, I don't think anyone is being taken advantage of.

I am fine with the updating speed its a bit slow but it is constant so I am not gonna bitch about that but its at the worst moment where you have replayed the game once or twice and your just waiting for the update it when the wait is not long enough the check every week or two but it is also not short enough to expect it for another week but you have to check every day to see how close it is. now that I am done with my whining I love the game especially the art the MC looks under feed sometimes but overall very good and I like the little twist of having a male eve it gives the game a bit more replayabilitey. nothing else to say I guess..............................bye

The thing is, DarkCookie isn't asking for 60k/month or half a million/year. People simply give it to him and his team.

Imagine a street musician with a cup in front of him. Everybody can listen to him play, nobody has to throw money in his cup. But people want to, because they like the music being played and hope he keeps playing. He says a certain amount is needed to ensure he keeps playing, but any more than that is not required. But he still gets way more money than he asked for.
Could he hire a full band with that much money? Maybe, but why should he? He's playing what he wants and can choose the corner on which he plays. Sure, some people may be annoyed that he keeps playing the same songs or covers only some genres of music. But the fact that he keeps making way more money than he asked for shows that most people are happy with how things are. And those unhappy people are free to stop throwing money in his cup. There seem to be enough people that want him to continue doing what he's doing.
Also: Should he refuse the excess amount of money he gets? Would any of you?

First of all if you paid to be his patron and later on you're disappointed with the slow updates coming from DC then you can come here and write a freakin novel on how slow he is and how he milks people's money with this kinda slow updates,but don't freaking come here and start saying that he's slow on getting updates done because you don't know the full story,ya know...having a child is one thing but having three childs that's a challenge that no one of you are ready...jusr think about it...you're a game dev and for example your child is sick, would you rather working on getting updates for SS or take care of a child...JUST THINK ABOUT IT.

Second of all that bs of being jealous of how much money he makes from SS it's NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS because the GAME IS FREE and instead of being jealous just start working somewhere and earn money or start making your own game, it doesn't matter how slow the updates are but how much love and content puts in them...one example is Roxxy and Eve's updates, they're storylines was so nice made and i bet Maria and the Rump family storyline will be even better, if you can't wait for the new update to be released just take a break,play some other games but don't come here and pretend to be a boss or whatever of DC and start accusing him or spread a bunch of negative things about the game because the game is a masterpiece and so far i haven't seen a game better made than SS.

And Mr Dave98424 don't talk about professionalism with a guy(I'm mentioning DC) that he works for so much months/years that at the time he released SS you still had a biberon in your mouth.

Why is it so hard for you guys to just ENJOY THE GODDAMN GAME while it's free rather than bitching about everything about it ?

So in order to express an opinion, you need to use force?. I think you fail to understand the definition of opinion or professionalism for that matter. I stand by what I said. No force needed, just stating an opinion that the developer lacks professionalism when generating over 200k without an update to a basic game. The developer is not inventing the cure for cancer, it is a game and nothing more. More than I can do for sure but again I am not the one getting the $200k.

All true. And you forgot the people who are listening and enjoing your street musician day by day, not paying, but constantly complaing how he plays not enough, not fast enough, and not what they like to hear, when they like to hear it.

Once you discover OTHER great games besides SS (Melody, Dating my Daughter, Depraved Awakening, Broken Dreamers, Being a DIK for me), the waiting process of a new DC's update becomes child's play. If you're only into 2D art, go to Hentai Foundry. Works as well.

As of late, I discovered HS Tutor and The Headmaster. A while around is Something Unlimited. And of course, if you didn't play them already, Akabur's classics Princess Trainer and Witch Trainer.

I think most people complain because they really think that at that point and with the engagement from the patrons, DC would have gotten a more professional touch on how the game is being developed.

And then he makes less money. Hence the reason he will always work at the absolute minimum he can get away with. I'm still laughing at the notion that no one on the planet can duplicate his art style, as if every comic book, anime, and cartoon isn't made by many artist following style guides. I know porn studios that make less a month than this game and produce significantly more content. It's fine to like the game, but it's increasingly obvious how this is a cash cow slowly being milked. That notion of fools and their money remains as true as it ever was.

That's mainly because you are laughing about your own strawman. DC never claimed there's nobody out there. He said people could apply (as far as I'm aware there's still a chance even now, if they want), but he's certainly free to reject people he doesn't like and who don't fit his liking, as he did in the past.

Most importantly though: Those things happened 2 years ago.

It's highly unlikely that there'll ever be another artist and you'd have to be beyond dense to think otherwise by now. Sure, a few people (not pointing at anybody here right now) probably continue to complain about it in the future, but at some point they probably should accept that a good number patreons like the game and development as it is?

If you want to support upward striving devs who want to optimze their project and ask for money to do that, there are plenty out there, after all.

In the end there's never a need to be as extreme, on both sides. Surely DC is earning more by now than the game is objectively worth, but that simply happens as soon as you personally manage to create a good product which has a huge global audience. Nobody is complaining that his/her favourite actor, singer, sportsstar, youtuber, etc. makes a lot of money. He's a guy who is doing his thing on the small scale he likes, who gives the game away for free, and if you like it, you give some money, if not, you don't. It's really that simple and he's not really demanding or promising anything else. If people don't like it that way, it's probably a good idea to simply forget about the game for a year or two and come back at that point. I'd say there's a very good chance that DC will be around and that they'd enjoy the game once again.

Next to that it's actually quite funny to see how long this whole discussion is already going. I still remember the times when people called ICSTOR their hero over here to trash DC:

Well, you know, the first time I played SS the author had A daughter. Now he has 3 siblings and SS is far from to be completed.

In the meantime, a lot of things happened, a lot of things changed. New wars, famine and plague. UK left the UE. A new disease is wrecking my country (and the rest of the world, too).
