Well, you know, the first time I played SS the author had A daughter. Now he has 3 siblings and SS is far from to be completed.

In the meantime, a lot of things happened, a lot of things changed. New wars, famine and plague. UK left the UE. A new disease is wrecking my country (and the rest of the world, too). The only thing that didn't change is you and that srksrk68 guy always whiteknighting DC whatever, whenever, wherever. Forever?

You're so funny, you know.
You should also try looking at the bright side sometimes. Makes you happier :)

Edit: If I would whithknight him whatever, whenever and wherever, I would not need to fix his bugs. It's not that I don't see room for improvement there.

That does make me curious, why arent you on the team for that very purpose?

As is often brought up every few posts, DC seems to have the income to support the assistance.

That's mainly because you are laughing about your own strawman. DC never claimed there's nobody out there. He said people could apply (as far as I'm aware there's still a chance even now, if they want), but he's certainly free to reject people he doesn't like and who don't fit his liking, as he did in the past.
No other company doing similar work on the entire planet has this issue. This is strictly a choice for motives I'm not buying are altruistic or artistic.

You act like he invented the rapist shota archetype. Hell, most porn isn't all about dat ethical consent.
No I don't. I act like sexually assaulting multiple women while they sleep and in at least a couple of cases actually flat out rape one of them is a thing that happens in the game. "But everyone does it" is not an excuse.

Because, like DC, I am doing this for my own. I don't need the money, I do it for myself and I have not problem sharing it.

And I definitly will not work harder or more or faster or hire somebody only because I make 57K a month :D

I guess you didn't see the sister's original sleep scene.

I've said this before. I like SS and I think DC has a great amount of talent as a designer. This game is awesome, I've played nearly every version, and DC is the only creator I've supported on Patreon. I love checking in, seeing the growth of the game, and playing each version. Each update reminds me why I used to support him. He is clearly passionate about his game and it shows. So when I see post about him milking his Patreons or being lazy, it makes me sad because that isn't at all indicated in his work. But its also frustrating watching people with frustrations simply be dismissed if they aren't Patreons or because the way they express these frustrations isn't helpful.

That said, each update also reminds me why I stopped supporting DC on Patreon. It came down to the fact I thought he was being very inefficient with the game's development considering the resources he has available. I really started thinking when he switched engines and started redoing stories. We were years into development, he had changed engines or something, got a team, started a studio, and yet there wasn't a core game yet. He's spent years building the branches of a tree without a trunk. At his current rate, it will be a very long time before the game is done. I'm fine with the time. Game's aren't quick to make and I always prefer quality over quantity. However, looking at what he still wants to do, every girl will require 2 or 3 major updates instead of just one with minor tweaks with his method of development. There was no indication it would change in the future then and it still hasn't. Inefficient development is why I dropped and why I think some people are truly frustrated. I'll still play his updates because I do really like DC and SS, but as was suggested by others, I only check once and a while.

To be constructive, I think DC needs to do two things if he intends on finishing this game before the heat death of the universe; Consult/Hire a project specialist since he hasn't found another artist he's comfortable with so he can move into this position, and spend time working on the core of his game (dating for prom, time limit to prom, money goals, and pregnancy). I like that this update is to the main story but this update should be more than just story. He should use this update to implement some core systems and really show us what this game can be.

he releases like 2 updates a year and 2 patches for said updates. this <removed> slow as hell and i'm vindicated in my complaints. he's gonna take longer due to global pandemic.
You are not vindicated in your complaints. You can dislike how the game is being made, you can dislike the speed at which it is being developed, you can whine, bitch, piss, moan, and cry about it all the live long day. However ultimately the people who pay into his patreon are fine with how the game is being made. DC has support and has consistently had that support for years. He rarely misses deadlines, he always updates with a lot of content per update, the work is always high quality, and the team is small. Your whining is not vindicated simply because development of the game is slow.

And no, he's not going to take longer because of the pandemic. He's going to take longer because he just had a kid. Life is more important than the lives you spill into your hand.

I disagree quite strongly, to be honest. Everybody who starts for example as solo selfemployed or owns a small business will have to make the decision how far he wants to expand in case business goes well. Do you feel comfortable sharing certain aspects for your core work or not? Would you share it with anybody or just members of your family? Do you want to open and manage branches or not? Those are key questions for many small/family businesses and both directions are viable to any degree. If he doesn't want to expand his team/business beyond the current scale, he does indeed have to live the consquences, which mean less growth and revenue than he could have had. Even though the numbers look good, the game basically plateaued quite some time ago, unlike other games who continue to expand. Wild Life is probably the most prominent example, currently.

I think we both agree that the game would very likely be more successful if he'd manage to hire another artist and to increase the update schedule and amount of content he releases. I mean, there are many who stopped being patreons after he changed his schedule, who likely would have stayed otherwise.

But that still doesn't mean that he's milking, which, at least in my eyes, requires a strong missmatch of the time it takes and the promised content (quantity and quality) released, which I just don't see in this case. Sure, there was some confusion when those changes happened, but I can't see any possible missunderstanding or ill will since.

Incorporating artists to draw or color in an ongoing project is a bad idea. DC would be forced to spend less time drawing to supervise the artists' work. Also, it is important to maintain homogeneity in the visual aspect.

If you think that with $50,000 monthly you can hire a whole team of cartoonists full time, you are hallucinating. In addition to salaries you have to pay taxes. Hiring is very expensive. Without forgetting, of course, that there has to be money left to live on.
with 50,000 a month you can pay a whole team, how? start hiring people who live's in countrys like Argentina/Mexico/Chile where 1 dollar have a lot of value after all dc already works "online" with he's colleagues, and you are crazy if you think that their work would be bad.

Bold of you to think that there are artists lining up and applying. There aren't.
