Then you realize people donate about 2$ a month, they don't pay for anything and aren't promised anything in return. Multiply that by ~25k people that don't care about it and you got whiners thinking they found something worthwhile to moan about

I am not being paid by anyone in fact the opposite I am also not saying anyone should go donate that is a personal choice they make. So, I will assume your ignorant about the word shill and just said the first hater remark that came to mind because your upset about something.
if you care about this game you should stop donating even if it's just 2$ or whatever. if enough people do this there might be change, for example DC might actually hire a project manager, employ a full time coder or at least he might pretend to actually work on stream instead of doodling for 2 hours or wasting 30 minutes talking to his team about where exactly to put a chair inside the bar and things like that. if progress continues at this pace the tech update is still not going to be out by the same time next year
I know this is difficult to process - but there are enough players of the game, both subscribers and non, who aren't as bothered by the pace as some of the more vocal individuals who are bothered. Personally - as a nonsubscriber - it doesn't bother me if this takes 2 months or 20 years.
that's great for you but i followed this project because i enjoyed playing it and would have liked to see it be finished during my lifetime. if you don't care about if the project ever gets finished why are you even here? just to write walls of texts and spam your faq?
read my post again. this is why i was saying "if you care about this project (be finished one day) you should consider not donating again because this might be the only way to change how DC is working right now. if you enjoy just watching DC horse around on stream or get off of seeing him get rich by all means keep donating
yeah i know DC clearly doesn't care about money because he said so. if his donations drop to 0 he's just going to be like "you know what kids, we could have retired as millionairs in a couple years but you know what... it was more important for me to not hire a project manager who know what he was doing or pay a coder full time. i just had to follow my dreams you know. i'll also definitely will keep working on this game for free because i said so." that's totally what's going to happen
I understand what you are saying as in DC becoming complacent getting money constantly even when he is stretching things out just doodling. I can say I am only donating when an update comes out which I think four came out in 2022 which I donated only a few times. If everyone started disappearing it would be a wakeup call definitely which may be the kick in the butt he may need, or just slow things down more before possibly quitting. Whether the donors stop like you say or just do the same as me donating when something enjoyable is presented we will never get enough to make a huge difference from the massive fanbase. The donors are going to donate as they want because it is their choice so no use whining and calling it a scam when it is as big as it is. The fan base is so big because DC has done so much right and not enough wrong in making this, I have enjoyed the content myself and what will be will be at this point. Most of the donors are not coming here to read about summertime when they are discussing it elsewhere this discussion might as well be a fart in the wind.

You did not write out that full statement in your original post - to now state that you did is in error. And this is the heart of the contention for you and a good number of the others who complain about the speed. Guess what. The world does not revolve around you or your sense of entitlement. The game will get updates when it gets updates - no sooner, no later. Also, it is very obvious that DC will continue to develop this game until he thinks its completed, which most likely means when he no longer gets satisfaction of the the development of the game. It may never "be finished" to the definition that you have for it.
Which is something we have said ad nauseum when the complaints come rolling in. Thank you.
donating whenever an updates comes it is totally fair and i have no illusions about donations dropping to zero anytime soon or my or others posts changing anything. that doesn't stop me from telling people, especially new people coming in here to consider donating to other creators than DC. his donations already dropped a couple thousand $ a month and because i doubt we'll see the tech update come out this year they will keep dropping. a small kick in the butt is better than nothing i think.
I just came in here seeing all this donor hate being thrown around calling us brainwashed cultists or something like that I didn't dive too deep, and I am not going to. I was just throwing out my perspective as just a simple fan that takes what he gets and only supports if I feel it is right. We all have different perspectives which gives us different opinions I just felt like expressing mine like you will yours I have no doubt.
it's not really not about protecting new people from donating. throwing 2$ a month or so in DC's pocket doesn't really hurt the donator, the problem is DC will not do better as he is right now because, just as you said, he keeps making more money
Sure you can keep doing that, but to me it just feels like you don't have anything better to do. People have been complaining about the same stuff for years now and nothing has changed.
i'm not posting that often and my posts aren't huge walls of texts, also when i post it's mostly about characters, story and so on (at least it was back when there was something to discuss). also why should i care about what you think about me having anything better to do or not. do you have nothing better to do than to respond to me?
