Earlier, when someone asked how much they were paid each month to defend the game, I really wanted to ask how much they were paid to be a jerk and be negative about everything. But I though better about it, thinking it would be in bad taste. Apparently, there is no such thing here. At ease. Carry on.

Why can't people complain about stuff they care (I hope it's the case) without having someone like you and others defending this game like your lives depend on it?
The first problem with that is the futility of it. DC doesn't come here. No one involved in the development of the game does. It can't possibly help; no one benefits from it. It's like that line from Asshole: "I walk around in the summertime saying 'how about this heat?'" No one can do anything to make it cooler outside, so why annoy everyone by complaining about an unsolvable problem?

Beyond the fact that it serves no purpose, negativity brings everyone down. I'm sure we all know someone who does nothing but complain. It's exhausting to be around such people, isn't it? It ruins your mood. There's a reason why we call such people "toxic". Such people are literally harmful to your health.

Finally, most of the criticism isn't even made in good faith. People who are well aware that there was an update on October 31 come in and talk about how it's been years since the last update in order to rile everyone up and start an argument. This is called "trolling". If you're not Siskel or Ebert, you're probably not good at criticizing things. The people who have good intentions are indistinguishable from trolls.

As a complaint forum, there's nothing but negativity and fighting. You have to have the serenity to accept the things that you can't change. If you don't have anything good to say, do us all a favor and keep it to yourself.

I don't know. Give this a 2 out of 10. It would be nice to have variety, rather than, if you do this for me, you will get the item you need, if you do this for me, you will get the item you need, if you do this for me, you will get the item you need, etc. etc. etc. Repetitively boring, endless fetch quests. Quality over quanity, having a bigger choice of scenes (sexual and non-sexual) with a few characters is superior, rather than fucking every female in town. How many games are out there already that do this. On a more personal note, the main character's bowl-cut, well only douche-bags get that sort of cut, and wearing flip-flops/tongs. Look I get he is somewhere between the age of 14-16, but making him so dense, as if he he beamed down from the stars just yesterday, is not really that funny or cute. Yes. I get it, there are those that have a fetish for being called names, and considered the lowest of lows, there is/was no need to make his sister be such a huge kunt toward him or the scene with Roxy and his sister cutting him down. For fucks sake, he just stands there like a tree and says avsolutely nothing nor his mother. Guess that has to do with, can not defend yourself or anything else against a woman due to that beinghow things currently are. The chemistry teacher calling everyone else basicly butt-picking, backwards, incest apes, again nobody says a damn word. This game loose its luster some-where between 2-4 hours of repetitive game-play, the one crutch that is relied on, fetch quests. I know I will be hated by some with using this comparison, so be it. Insexual Awakening did it right. With its smaller cast focus, and sticking mostly to incest and not spiraling out of control. Its more laser focused. As odd as this may sound about Summertime, it has too much(uneccessary) content. A good 50% should be cut. Especially the mafia connection. Let me get this right. Eek and Ook will randomly steal 2 dollars from you, yet you have all the time in the world with the debt. Sheesh. The whole mafia angle here does not work due to no working against some kind of clock or deadline. Though the creator(s) will not even take this into consideration, do not add more chicks to bang and/or fetch quests. Will not bother playing this game again even if it is one day completed. Now that I see how it has been developed. And I have over time around when this game was first introduced. And please, for the die-hards, defenders, SJWs, chilvarious knights and so on, stepping up to defend the game, do not present, "Oh yeah, well lets see you make such and such." That is always a non-counter argument. One does not have to be a creator in some capacity of what they are criticising. Type back all the responses you like, it will be to a non-responsive blank screen. Will use a bizarre example, "Murdering people is wrong." "Oh yeah? How do you know? Have you ever killed anyone?"................................................................
At no point in your incoherent ramble were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought and everyone here is now dumber for having read this.

They are just stories that add nothing
If everyone wants to believe in fairy tales, that's a choice
But don't bother other people who know how it works
I hate stupid people
You don't see any reflection in football either

It is true that there are many people on this forum who only have something to complain about. I know that especially from certain haters.

However, it is not the case that criticism does not arrive. Believe it or not, there are a lot of developers on this forum. I now know several personally. And even more from their fans/patreons. Some use this forum specifically as public relations work to see how their product is received by the players. This means that criticism written here, provided it is formulated politely and constructively, often arrives the developers.

The developers of other games, yes. Not the developers of Summertime Saga. I'm only talking about this thread for this game. Criticism, constructive or otherwise, for this game will not be read by anyone who has the power to do anything about it.

That doesn't mean that criticism has no value. Critique breeds debate, debate breeds new ideas, and new ideas, if they're good enough, will find a way to the top. Even if DC and his team don't follow this thread directly, someone indirectly connected to them might be. Heck, even current devs or devs of games yet to be could read this thread and gain some useful ideas about what might work and might not work in their own projects. Even bad faith criticism has its own value in training each of us to recognize it and how to engage (or even ignore) it. And if someone is a consistent and obvious bad actor, it's easy enough to mute them so you'll never have to see their unhinged ramblings again.

Ideas don't form in a vacuum, they form as a result of vigorous debate and interrogation of that which we know and don't know. Is an incredible idea going to form from this barely-contained cesspool? Probably not. But it's incredibly cynical to preemptively dismiss someone attempting to engage in debate as "toxic" or a troll whose thoughts are useless because they lack the means to change things.

Yet you keep going?
Well if you read the thread you must have noticed that I haven't posted on this thread after I made that comment. Are you lonely or something? I get that we all need someone to talk but I am not really interested. Try someone else.
You're on the ignore list so keep that in mind if you decide to respond to this.

Crying milking daily isn't criticism though. And they could all just go to Patreon/Discord/Picarto with their "criticism" and dump it there, at least DC and co might see it. We'd then have reports of mass insta-bans and DC is a sleazeball

The lighthouse is part of the widescreen map extension (next to a biker bar, stadium, museum, arcade/bowling alley, cabin and a few new family homes) and it's mainly going to be used as a dating spot in the future - and it'll be Cpt. Sploosh's house.

I had no idea that shitposting was such a noble pursuit!

I still don't see the point of debating an issue that you have no power to change. I mean, your life is yours and you can waste it any way you want. I personally think it's nobler to use our precious time in this world to make people happier rather than angrier. Orgasms being the best thing in life, I consider creating pornography a noble pursuit. I'm here to create content to help people masturbate and enjoy life. How about we all post things to make each other happy instead of bringing each other down with futile "debating"?
