Look, I get where you are coming from. (Arts or otherwise) patronage has been around for centuries. It's one of the reasons why Gutenberg could work on his printing press, though I doubt he would have continued to receive his grain by fucking around for years.
This system never existed as a philantropical means (as in, feeding bums) but to further political or societal advancements by wealthy people. As such, it's reasonable to expect results from the aided subject.

No he just doing a really long tech update thst supposed to fix a lot of the bugs witch dosent really makes sense. it would be way more productive to get all the routes done first than go back to fixing the bugs

The "really long tech update" is reworking the entire game - nearly all/all the coding including upgrading it to the latest version of Ren'py, the artwork from 4:3 display ratio to 16:9. It is then reposing the thousands of art layers to the new ratio. Making the game more android friendly. Fixing story continuity. And more.
Why do a rework here u still got routes to finish, not every girl can get pregnant, and theres still inaccessible areas in game.

TL;DR: Supposedly the game is lucky to run as it is now. From what has been shared, in order for it to do some things in some fashion near to what DC wants it to do in the future, things need reworked to make that happen before they could go further. It wasn't a choice of if it was going to happen, but whether it was before or after Rhonda's update.

I almost complained about it, but then I remembered I pirated it completely and haven't given him a cent. So I actually look forward to an update whenever it happens (even if it takes years) because I don't, at any point, consider it something he owes me or something I desperately need at any point.
The bigger issue isnt that the tech update is taking a while, its basically a rebuild. The issue is this:

Over a year and they are really no closer because of feature creep. This is the kind of stuff that gets projects cancelled or stall into oblivion. Also, to me oddly convenient how it's always just a little bit away.

I think even when DC comes out and says that the SS project is abandoned, and he's leaving gamdev, the abandoned tag won't be put on this thread because people at the level of Count Morado will say that the developer didn't promise us anything, and the game is actively developing (in someone's mind for a couple years now)
It's literally an evolution, but backwards
