The more you ignore the very real censorship happening right under your nose for monetary profit for Paypal, the more likely that DC and others have no where else to go as Paypal spreads their monopoly like they've done for the last decade to push adult content out of everywhere.
This isn't whining. It's a very real problem and issue that is going to touch Summertime Saga eventually.
But don't say people didn't warn you when they're talking about how financial institutions are trying to take down adult content and have history to back it up.
Jesus, just create a separate thread for that, and leave that one for the ACTUAL game and ACTUAL game news.

$276000 p.a for maybe 5 updates. That does seem like a lot but patreon is for patronage not per unit purchases. The pope patronised Michaelangelo for 4 years. And there's virtually no fish women on that.

Gotta love when people complain about a developer, even though (A) They admitted that they decided to take more time to add more stuff, and (B) they constantly deliver quality updates, as well as also having constant updates and are willing to speak with their patrons.

Personally, I'm pretty done with SS because the updates are too slow and I don't think any of them since the sister update have been very good. Adding extra arcs or retweaking existing ones, when there's been over a year of some arcs not being finished, is something that wouldn't be accepted on any other kind of game or media.

That's a fair observation, and your opinion is your own, but they have been going off of what their patron's want, as they have polls whenever a new update is launched for what they'd like to see in update XXX.

Yeah I know, and I get that. The problem with democracy though, is a big chunk of people always lose out!
And again, you compare to other media (books, TV series, films etc.) and how they produce quality content, it is not by asking the fans what they want next.
Also I don't think any fans voted for the whole mom arc to be reworked, over say, sorting Roxy out. Did they?

It's easy to omit the fact that the game is drawn and thus DC simply can't work more than 10-12 hours a day as he does. The only way to speed up the whole thing is to either skip on details, animations etc. and start doing things fast or finding someone who can just draw as DC does without him having to rework everything. The game would loose a lot if the art wouldn't be consistent anymore.
And of course that kind of thing would be accepted as it is everywhere in business. It's normal that an artist, photographer or anybody who does work only he can do has a limit of what can be done and will simply reject additional work. The "problem" is more that there's no limit on how much people can spend on patreon and I think it's pretty clear that DC can't and won't reject additional patreons.

The problem isn't what time he has available, it's how he uses it. And what wouldn't be accepted in other media is starting a story arc, then it saying "under construction" halfway through it, and it still be under construction a year later, whilst development time is spent on fish women, trump fucking hillary, and redoing an arc that people were already happy with.

Well, that under construction thing is patreon immanent and can't be changed. Every game suffers from it, especially if you actually introduce a lot of characters right away as DC did.
When it comes to developements most things were simply voted on. People had two times the choice to choose between aditional homestories and for example Mia's second update and the dating system and yet wanted mom and the sister (just as it's pretty sure that Diane will be next right after Roxxy). The auqa update was made for halloween and a nice surprise so I wouldn't really blame DC for that. Otherwise it's the small things which make the game fun and I wouldn't want to miss them for more content. Because at least to me it's pretty clear that DC will very likely move on once the story is done and thus you either introduce them now or never.

The development choices have been shocking, the updates have been getting shorter and less detailed, we've lost the x-ray shots in new patches, and we keep getting new characters that nobody gives a shit about. And it hasn't all been voted for.
