Honestly, as I said earlier, I'm fine with either course. As one of the few people on this particular board who isn't scared of Nicole being with another man (or wasn't, now that we know about the cuckquean thing) I was looking forward to a little drama. My entire problem currently is twofold. 1. The devs are being pricks. I don't really care how much flack they've had to take. They're making a porn game and they were going to take flak regardless. They have several (very good) games ahead of this and they knew that. 2. People keep defending Nicole and that annoys me. (lol)

Hyper is just like that, he loves to ruffle feathers and Jeff was just having a good time trolling IMO. As far as Nichole yeah I agree she is basically Rachel from DMD, more worried about money and success then her relationship.

Well, one dev and one discord guy so far. Hyperserver was straight up bitching at people and Jeff was trying to troll them. And, I honestly don't know if I believe the cuckquean plotline was a thing. Some people have expressed doubts and I don't really know if I disagree with them.

Cuckquean plotline fits perfectly on her development in the game. I expected, based on her inner monologues, a harem base, but a cuckquean would do the same.

The problem is that most players don't like her, so they don't pay attention to her internal monologues. Instead, they imagine a her personality diferently than the one described in the game.

Otherwise, I agree that the developer should ignore the crowds with the pitchforks. The whole situation reminded me of BaDIK after the fourth episode. Many demanded a third option there as well.

No, you were being cryptic as fuck while there was radio silence from MrDots, you had created an unlikeable, controlling and whiny (to be fair, a fault the MC shares) character that the playerbase was forced into a relationship with. Then you made her thirst for other guys, call you and blurt out that she wanted to see other people and provide no way to break up with her.

Instead of just being honest and open with people when the backlash started you decided to play coy. Aside from that I don't know how you're related to the project. Hell you probably could have done it now instead of changing anything and it's likely people would have been okay with it. People don't like being messed with man, who'd have thunk it. Rubbing it in peoples faces now is a real class move.

By the way the choice that's being changed is super weird. I don't see why it would be "Deny her request and continue dating someone who is obviously unhappy and probably going to cheat on you, or break up" instead of "Break up, or Agree to her request for an open relationship." Why those two things weren't there in the first place just blows my mind.

MrDots games are a slow burn. They take time to develop the story. Why would they spoil the entire story line in the third update? Also, who said she was going to break up with him? I'm not saying it isn't possible, but up until this point she has been faithful to him.

It's not that I disagree with the cuckquean plotline, I think it could be cool. I do disagree with the "fits perfectly" part though, but that's just an opinion. But, despite me thinking it could be cool, I seriously doubt it could be written in a way that didn't feel shoehorned in. If it was ever planned in the first place. We'll never know at this point though, so it's moot.

It is a rotation between games now, DMD and SL are on a 2 month rotation. Next month is DMD then Oct is SL again.

Even Steven King writes bad books every now and then. But I don't think that's the case here. So far the writing has been pretty damn good, which is why the cuckquean plotline doesn't make sense to me. I mean, I can't see all the angles as I don't know the future of the game, but from what we know so far it feels shoehorned. There's going to be people that point that out.
