Just tried this game out for the first time. I think it has some foundations of excellence, including the entire business building premise, but a few things hold it back for me:
1) I find the character models for Yuki, Connie, the cousin, and Kristina problematic. It's very possible to create youthful appearances without bringing in childlike qualities, but the dev has elected not to do so. I don't know the devs intent, but this is a huge red flag for me.
2) Questionable sound choices. While I do like much of the soundtrack, the ominous 'Desire' track is particularly detracting.
3) Character overload. More choices does not mean more meaningful choices. I've never seen a game do a good job with more than 5 or 6 meaningful characters - there needs to be space in the narrative that just doesn't exist with so many love interests.
4) Relationship overload. In particular, so many love interests are inter-related for sake of drama that it makes it difficult to invest in the story. Ashley and her daughter, Tricia and her daughter, Ashley and Tricia as sisters, the twins and Kristina as sisters, Nicole and her sister, ... it's frankly a bit much.
5) Donut hunting. It's silly, which is inline with the general tone of the game, but I wish I could just disable this altogether.
For me, while #3-5 are all forgivable, and #2 is annoying enough to make some points of the game unbearable, #1 pretty much scratches this from my list of games I'd be willing to support. Suum cuique!
