So, I could explain what NTR is to you. But I don't want to provoke an argument here. Maybe Jeff Stell will read this and take over . Or someone else will look for Jeffs explanation in the DMD thread and post it here via a link. Then it's official.

Discussion about what is or not ntr is pointless. Even if there is a misconception about what exactly is ntr, when people say they don't like ntr, if what they mean is they don't like the LI fucking another guy in the game, saying that ain't ntr just means people are calling it by the wrong name, but people who dislike love interests fucking random guys will continue to dislike it reguardless of the name you give to it.

It's like for instance, if you serve potato to someone and when the person complain "I don't like yam", then you respond "but that's potato not yam, so you have to swallow it".

Gross simplification, for the sake of how users on this site see/interoperate the tag?
NTR is "any love interest/romantic interest/ Character the MC and sexually pursue, being involved in sexual situations with any other male."

That might not be a strictly accurate definition of NTR, but it is what people who want to avoid NTR think of it as.
So, rather than argue semantics of how the word can be defined, and why, is it really that hard to understand when someone says "I hope this game will not have NTRm or it is at least avoidable," all they mean is they don't want to see other male characters fucking the girls they could pursue, and that if such content does exist, hopefully we can avoid it.

Seems straightforward to me.

I'm no stranger to making long, rambling posts about inconsequential things that no one gives a fuck about but rub me the wrong way... but as petty as I can be, I don't think I've ever lectured someone about the technical definition of a tag, despite knowing exactly what they meant and were hoping to not see in a game, just because it made me feel intellectually superior.

I liked the game, I hope it doesn't have NTR, if it does in future updates, at least, that it is avoidable, because I hate NTR, I don't want to waste time behind the girls and they fuck with other guys.

That's why I intend to avoid the twins and Ashley in my playthrough, if I can't stay strictly on the girlfriend path.

I mean, I get it, my tastes are weird when combined with the fact I'm playing literal porn games, but I don't like "slutty" characters.
(This is more true when I play games with romance plotlines. More casual games, I don't care as much, but I also don't get invested in the characters or plot).
Highly sexual, yes. Slutty, no. Even if no NTR, you're given reason to believe they've been through countless dick. Are the other girls virgins? Nah, but doesn't bother me.
All NTR in games does that puts me off is it takes referenced sluttiness of a character and puts it on display.

I'm not sure that is fair or accurate.
I have no idea what kind of playthrough they are doing, but, for example, I intended to be on a "girlfriend only" path until devs nuked it.
You don't know what those of us playing, while hoping to avoid, NTR are looking for. And it is entirely likely that they are doing a "loyalty" playthrough, or going for some other happy/romantic end game.

For example, if we make all the wrong choices in the game and end up losing our LI to another guy, what can be wrong about it? That's how it works in real life and makes it so more realistic... I've only played a couple of VN so far and what I notice is we simply don't have male competition, it's all too easy and all women act like if there are no other men in the world. For me it's much more interesting to seduce and fight for my LI, who will of course choose me in the end if I make all the right decisions...

MrDots always releases the games on a Saturday, (noon Pacific Time), 13:00 Mountain Time, 21:00 Central European Time. (No, I won't mention American Country Countdown this time.) If you are further east, then it will always be Sundays for you. (Depending on DST it can also be one hour later.)

Simply put, the vast majority of players out there would rather NOT have competition for the same L.I. If they did, I’m sure Devs would take that into consideration.
