I had the notion at one point that if he could survive a large enough charge of electricity that was administered body wide it might literally jumpstart his next evolution. Don't know, just some analgenic theorizing.
This is perhaps a less stupid idea than it might seem at first glance...
(I don't mean it as an insult ;))
My first thought was "That's bullshit" but then I thought twice.

What if MC slime cells are shaped and changed using (VERY) small electrical charges? Too large a dose of electricity will therefore cause breakdown of any cellular structure that has been formed (dose that is painful but not strong enough to immobilize MC) or uncontrolled inflation (and subsequent explosion) caused by extreme overdose.

It would pretty much explain the behavior of his body.
So in theory, MC could be able to supercharge himself at some point in the future which could give him a short term combat buff.

Im kinda curious about something, so the human body produces enough electricity to power a light bulb, could a human hypothetically kill the MC just by well...existing or like giving him a static shock by accident? (The episode of family guy where peter shuffles his feet and shocks his family comes to mind when I think about it)

I wouldn't doubt her being evil and just trying to resist in her own way at the same time
The thing about this games is that because we don´t know a lot about the motivations of,... anyone really, they all come across as incredibly shady. What we know of Ella´s backstory and what she does in game with the pills, Jake and Derek makes it clear that she isn´t an heroic character, but the part with the orphans, her friendliness with the MC and the fact that we don´t know a lot about her foes makes it hard to discern is she´s full on villanous or just a well intentioned extremist.

H.E.R.O is backed by a world goverment which is implied to be somewhat dystopian, their main researcher makes deals with the mob for test subjects and they have been covering up monster attacks for years, but then again, we don´t know if their doing out of pragmatism or for some other sinister goal.

And then there´s the monsters themselves, but we don´t know enough about them to speculate shit about their motives.

The ones in this game that we can call outright evil are the Aldains, the NTR dude in Liz route and Amber´s Mother.

So basically the MC's allergy to electricity isn't necessarily fatal so much as it is debilitating, and yet there are levels of voltage below which he will feel pretty much no effect whatsoever, and above the unclear voltage the effects are disastrous. On top of that, the MC has already shown the capability to counteract said allergy with self-discipline and conditioning, in turn requiring a higher voltage to harm him.

Theoretically, considering he's only in his 2nd evolution, the MC could grow so powerful that one would require enough terajoules to make an atom bomb blush to incapacitate him. I became a fan of the game for its surprisingly intriguing story but it really only just struck me how powerful these characters are. While not on the level of most comic books, I'm pretty sure they would decimate the live-action superheroes and supervillains before facing any true threats.

I really was out here thinking this was less fantastical when one of these motherfuckers was making swords the size of a city block like it was nothing.

The only problem is that his central core is in his head.
If someone does enough damage to the head it will kill him.
One good blow to the head with some higher caliber is all it takes.

No it isn't, during the fight with Deryl and Jake there is a bad end where you still fight on despite missing upper torso and head, you only die once the rest of your body dies. Plus there are multiple times where MC gets his head blown and lives, for example, during the mall fight one of the snipers lands a headshot and MC just shrugs it off.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, in one of the training events MC liquifies himself, including his head, and lives. That basically means that no central neural system is really needed.

Did you forget about the collar situation?
The whole body can be destroyed, but if the head survives, the MC survives.

And yes, MC got shot in the head a few times and although he survived, it always really hurt him, slowed him down, or paralyzed him. I don't think the MC would survive a shotgun headshot at close range or good hit from anti-tank rifle. If enemies destroy too much of his core, he will not be able to regenerate.

Worth noting that during liquification he has to firmly hold in his mind a "re-solidify after X seconds with a new head" or he dies.
And he has to do the transformation all at once. if he tries to cautiously do it slowly he dies.

So, the head is necessary. But can regrow under certain conditions without loss of memories.
