Yeah, i did mis-remember that part, of her being in the building, but again, if they were thinking of collateral damage they wouldn't have had alice BLOW UP THE BUILDING, and michaels job was specifically take her out of there, negating any risk. My point still stands.I dont want to 'Erm, Ackhually' you, but MC directly tells Jake after calling Michael that Michael is taking her away from the prime minister's office, blatantly stating that "keeping her in this crumbling building can't be safe."
At the point in the story the Jake fight occurs, MC isn't yet completely aware of his flaws as a fighter, those realizations happening after Michael criticizes his battle performance. It is only really after that when MC begins to seriously hone his on-the-fly tactical thinking, because he needs experience and outside help to become totally aware of his flaws. And still he remains somewhat of a Himbo. I think that my original point of MC not having the clarity of mind to come up with a better tactic that what he already had is still valid, a tactic that for all its flaws, still gave him victory. Even if Deryl hadn't shown up, he would have still won.
As for the poison decaying, yeah it does vanish slowly- However, Ella has stated that things cut off from her and the MC's bodies evaporate because the energy inside dissipates into the air, meaning that the degradation of the toxins was vastly slowed by being hidden from open air inside Jake's body. (Granted, it didnt really stay there for long, on the account of, well, all the blood loss). She even states that regular infusions of power, an airtight container and a few thick layers of paint were what kept the doll she made from her flesh from evaporating.
Literally michael has been telling him of his flaws the entire game since the first spar, and his fights with alice also taught him. He isn't a new fighter at that point and especially isn't unaware of his flaws. He even makes comments on how his power scales after seeing alices during their training. He just decided to simply push through, even though it was less effective.
The range of time it takes to dissolve has never exceeded "several minutes" except when dealing with the doll, even when said liquid is inside of a person. The infusion of energy is what extends its duration, not necessarily air. Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that it is the least effective way he could attack.
Nothing you actually said here changes anything i have said, except that Mia was in the building. He didn't use guns or explosives simply because WW didn't want him to use guns at that point, and probably wanted to use poison after setting it up so much.
