There’s no denying this game has some absolutely killer storylines. When it hits, it hits hard. But the quality of the narrative has taken a nosedive lately. We’ve seen crucial plot points delayed for two, sometimes three consecutive updates, stretched out in a way that feels less like building tension and more like an inability to just get on with it. What’s the play here? Is this a cash grab, or is the dev just some impossibly honest perfectionist terrified of releasing 1.0? Frankly, I’ve already formed my goddamn opinion.

Let’s talk about these recent updates. On paper, they’re fine. But in practice? They’re missing that fucking spark. That vital energy that made you feverishly click for the next line of dialogue is just… gone. The story is technically moving, but it’s become bland. The delays to the core plot aren't smooth or intriguing; they’re clunky, obvious, and frustrating.

And don’t you dare come at me with that “but the world-building!” sanctimonious bullshit. I’m not saying the lore and side characters don’t matter. What I am saying is that there’s a right way and a wrong way to do it. The right way integrates it seamlessly into the main narrative. The wrong way—the way they’ve been doing it—is to halt the protagonist's journey dead in its tracks (hello monster world) for months to focus on some side character’s boring ass domestic problems that have zero bearing on the main plot. This isn't The Witcher 3; it’s a visual novel. A picture book. I’m not waiting a quarter of a year for an update where 70% of the content is about shit that has nothing to do with me (MC).
TRNUKE. Superhuman has been falling off, but I’m hopeful things are going to get back to the high stakes plot progression we’ve all love very soon. With the way the story’s been hyping up the seven-days thing, the MC’s potentially evolving, and all the stuff with the Black moon.

I've no idea wtf you're talking about.
First, I will admit, the first two parts of the Monster World arc were a little slow, with the constant traveling sim. But these last two updates have been absolute fire.

The Alice update was peak and to me it was perfect, that update featured enough lore dive and confirmed and revealed a fuck ton of backstory AND it was absolutely action packed. The arena showdown was insane with Alice blasting through old and new monsters before fighting Danu, I absolutely read through every line and savored it. None of the world building is irrelevant, we needed to know of how the Monster World works, we needed to know about the Chosen, we needed to know that previous human worlds were invaded by Monsters, that is all essential.
Anyone who says anything bad about the Alice update is dead wrong.

This last update was also fantastic, we are finaly back on Earth, we see the Mc and his crew make a fucking badass entrance anihilating a A class Godzilla before the bewildered on-lookers, we finay got to see everyone again, we got to see the Mc be a absolute badass bitch-slapping Yuren. We got to see the boys again, the gals, we get some insane ramps for future conflicts, such as tracking down Langdon, Tanos and the rest of SIN, we get a possible Jared and Cole confrontation, we get some insane hints that the Black Mouth is one hell of a Chosen, we learn that Malik and Zack have gone missing which is a huge deal.
And ofc before these two I for one really liked the Monster World arc, trainning with and bonding with everyone, the Mc learning and seeing the epic showdown beetwen Sylla and Indra, fighting new monsters, the battle at the Hexenringe portal, Michael's sacrifice.
And also all the heartfelt drama about Liz and Amber, and the growing camraderie of the main cast, I loved all of it
And you can dislike the world building portion all you like I think they are fantastic and essential, I loved reading about what happened to previous human inhabited worlds and finding out fragments of them.

To be honest idk what to tell you, I just think you're absolutely wrong. The writing is as good as it has ever been and I for one am not dissapointed in the slightest.

With the Mc unlocking his sealed memories, the Eye ominously warning him of a impending event, Ella stating it clear the Mc is her Chosen, Aos giving hints that the Mc will play a big role in humanities future, the story is still centered around the Mc. But I for one enjoyed learning of the rest of the cast.
Honestly, you're a prime example of why developers should not always take everyone's yapping to heart. I mean again, the Alice update and this latest had a fuckton of vital information for the nerds, and a fuckton of action for the rest, yet you're still disappointed ? Sheesh, true what they say it's impossible to please everyone and some people will always complaing about one thing or another and ignore the big picture.

funny how he thinks he's a threat to us when we fight level 3/B-ranks daily

aside from Cole, this mf is the second one we REALLY enjoy killing and making him regret coming into this world
Actually I think he might be.
In that one Dead End where you try to kill him only for him to be saved by Charlie, he says : '' The Doc made a special arrow for me in case I met this fucker again '', or something like that.

The Doc clearly could only be Tanos, and Tanos evidently knows the Mc is a shapeshifter and given Tano's vast array of knowledge and experience he likely knows or has a good idea of how far the Mc's powers go, also due to him knowing the inner workings of the Third's spawn since he studied Ella for a long time.

So I could imagine Tanos making something akin to a Bio weapon of sorts that destroys bio matter or something along those lines, or maybe even a projectile of sorts imbued with a healing disabling properties, akin to Valravn's miasma.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I'm fine with it. I'm just pointing out the fact that we're not really Special despite many things that you would think SHOULD make us special. It's interesting.

Ohhh yeah, 100%. The only thing I can think of is that the MC's Genes from his Monster Mother and Human Father were at odds? I mean he went through regular health checkups and was fine, but that doesn't mean there weren't things going on internally in his development. After all, being Short and Skinny isn't Unhealthy. But who knows, the MC's Doctor was Tanos, if he could hide his True Self from his Dad, what's to say he couldn't throughout his Youth with our Spotty at best memories.

Possible that the reason the Eye has been with the MC for SO long even before he was a Superhuman is because he was Born from Syla?

That's not much of a Revelation by itself sure, but so far, I don't think a single other Superhuman has been Infected by not 1, but 2 Apostles, let alone carried 2 Traits. I feel like it's easy dismissed because Body and Memory are 2 Apostle Twins in which their Powers Coincide with each other, instead of being at Odds with each other like the 2nd Half of the Apostle Twins. But the fact of the matter is he uses Two Traits, AND has an Arbiter (The Eye) in his head? THAT'S Special, yet so far we don't have much to show for it by comparison of the other Upper, or even Newly made Superhumans.

Anyways, rambling about the Obvious, but what if the Pre-Requisite for The Eye/An Arbiter to Host itself in a Superhuman IS for them to be a Natural Born Monster, WITH the Adaptability of a Human. Half and Half if you will.

I think it's Dependent on whatever you Pick at the Start. Again, I think it's stupid anyways, because it's Heavily Implied, if not Outright Shown, that the MC gets Infected by BOTH the Apostles in Bills Park no matter which one you end up choosing. And that's later confirmed by the fact that we have BOTH Traits.

Sure, the Apostles, for whatever reason, can use the Trait of their Twin (Stupid if you ask me, they are the Embodiment of themselves after all, not their Sibling), but that doesn't seem to Apply, at least so far, to Any other Apostle-Created Superhuman. Michael can't use Authority, Alice can't fuck with Time, Tiffany can't fuck with Space, and Tiffany can't change her Bright Lightblub ass into a Shadow, hell, even Ella, at Level 5, still relies entirely on Body, otherwise she would've fucked with some Memories to save herself from the Captains.

I think it's said by Lisa that Henri got to Level 5 in the span of a week, not overnight or anything. He basically made a Deal with his Progenitor, or at least it's implied, because he fit the Conditions and then holed up and almost Monsterified. But we later find out, based on the Collective of Human Minds in the Dream World, that Henri's Progenitor is a GOD. They don't say that about us though, which implies they don't view Apostles as Gods. Either Henri was Transformed by an Arbiter 60 something years ago (assuming they were still alive?), or another Entity besides Monsters (Like the Outer Twins???) Infected him. Who knows, but it seems like Henri by EVERY account (Even W.W himself when Ranking the Powers used by an Average Joe), is ridiculously Overpowered and 'Built Different'

Jared getting to Level 4 is indeed bullshit. But does deter from the fact that people around us seem to just Grow way faster than us.
MC did not get infected by both Apostles. Apostles can give the trait of their twin if the Spawn is compatible, so being infected by Memory or Body gave MC both traits. The reason why others don't is because they don't have high compatibility.

If you will recall, the monster Ella originally gave to Michael as his highest compatibility is the Leigong, which is 58% Power/34% Ether/8% Fantasy. We know that trait compatibility is genetic, and Alice is high in Ether, so there was no compatibility with Authority for him to inherit the trait. And similarly, Alice is probably high in Ether/Power, so there's no compatibility with Time.

Ella's trial, where she killed the people at her prom, was likely intended to give her the Memory trait, but since she failed the trial by not eating Christie she didn't get it.

Agree with you there, Monster World arc killed any hype I had for this project. Latest update's fight felt more like a pity W to what feels like a stunted MC (IMO).

Yep, he went through 4 back-to-back evolutions in 4 nights (wiki an Henri himself)
The Doc made a special arrow for me in case I met this fucker again
This heavily implies that Jared believes he would be able to hit our MC. And wouldn't it be hilarious if it was a lightning arrow?
Yes, you can without any penality
Well, Emily does ask the MC if the other girls would be fine with him dating her, and there is a pending big talk about this with the implicated parts, but hes probaly just going to get beat down and sucked dry.

I'm glad you praise the latest crap we got in updates above all else, and how happy you were waiting (months) 2-3 updates for the final updates where MC was in a coma (unlocking memories), where it could easily have been finished in 1 update. Great, can I pat you on the head now? But this drivel you wrote has absolutely nothing to do with what I wrote. You're just imposing your point of view on me and presenting your flawed arguments.

What was so epic about Alice's fight in Monster World? She fought, fell to the ground, fought, fell to the ground, fought, fell to the ground for 80% of the update, and that's it, you see it somewhere. But cool, keep on hyping yourself up.

And I don't even want to comment on the rest because I don't want to sweat it out by reading any more.

You're the one to talk...
"Even if you disagree, he's right. The last two updates felt boring and unnecessary—like filler, as if everything was being rushed to get to the final arc. I only played them to prepare for the final version. I understand that you like the game, but we can't ignore the fact that those updates lacked real content. And they don't even mention the MC's progress, which was practically non-existent. I understand that they want to give prominence to other characters, but after two updates, the MC hasn't learned anything except a few memorization skills, without gaining any power or abilities. Don't forget what makes this game exciting: the MC's fights in his desire to improve and go further. Leaving your protagonist aside is a bad idea. Sorry if I explained myself poorly; my language is not English.

Give it up, even if dev shits on their face they will lick it off and thank them, they even confuse the concept of opinion with imposing an opinion.
he pacing dropped, that’s obvious. And yet some people defend the author like everything’s part of a master plan. Look, the author’s human—he can have weak moments in the story, and that’s fine. But that doesn’t mean every update is automatically amazing. The MC is stuck, the story feels hollow, and pretending everything’s perfect doesn’t help.

Still, I’ve got faith that the final arc will bring back what makes this game great: the intense fights and the meaningful choices we make to move forward.

WW has already said that MC will be the focus of the next update. I too have felt that the last few updates haven't had the same oomph as the ones even a couple arcs ago, but it's not like it's been that big of an issue.

Do I think WW is stretching out these updates to stall for v1.0? Maybe, but probably not. I think it's more so to do with WW being an amateur writer, as the issue isn't necessarily with content, but pacing, timing and structure. It could also be that WW has been focusing on rewriting earlier action pieces for v1.0 while writing the current content, and getting his wires crossed mentally when thinking about the action level of the update.

As far as the MC's progression goes, maybe on an update to update focus it's hard to see the progress, but MC is basically at the power level of a weak Level 4 at the moment. He's been fighting class A monsters on the regular, something he had to have Nico's help with much earlier, on top of taking literal hours of time fighting. One point I will give is how WW has decided to take the route of hiding training knowledge, which is unfortunate. Sure, it results in a cool scene where a new technique is revealed, but I enjoyed seeing the acquisition, formation, and eventual use of the Mantis Punch against Valravn. At least Evo 4 is likely on the horizon, so we'll have new toys to play with soon enough.

The more likely explanation, if WW is indeed deliberately stretching things out, is that the overhaul (remaster of earlier art plus new scenes earlier in the game) he's been promising 1.0 will contain isn't ready, and he doesn't want to go too long without an update.
One of the points of praise for the game has been his quick and consistent release schedule. For 4 years, he's put out an update every 2-3 months.

1.0 isn't the end of Superhuman, it's just the overhaul and possibly Steam release, so it wouldn't make sense for WW to be scared of releasing it, for any reason.

Of course, that's assuming that he is indeed doing this deliberately. WW is talented but he isn't some experienced expert writer or something, and even they sometimes make mistakes. The dip in quality also isn't as drastic, IMO, as you're making it out to be.

Almost certainly this. In one of the previous streams it was asked how long v1.0 will take, and he said six, maybe seven months.

Am I the only weird one who liked the monster arc
Sure in the start of it when cole is saved by his friends and that bitch throw us in that rift it made me little frustrated but I think I liked the monster arc ,got to see more monsters and some amazing power like the very big monster that was dead and we read it's memory and the water city lore and that big tree
Btw in starting when we fought ella and then she beaten us and throw us to the memory apostle what was she trying to do ,is this her way of getting both traits by letting mc killed and become the arbiter and in the diamond valley battle where mc reached like level 5 or become a monster and search ella to get her power like if we absorbed her that time could we become the arbiter of evolution ?and when we slept in college dorm in some nighttge voice said to become complete or something like we need to kill or absorbed the cross assasin ,and many other

Dont know the hate for the final fight I thought its meant to show how strong MC has become from his monster arc journey and now hes the one whos aura farming rather than other characters, that and the part where he easily killed a monster comparable to lv 4s power level, although that bit seemed a bit underwhelming to me. Yurian...whatever his name is, is by no means a weak character.

My biggest (and probably the only one worth mentioning) issue with the story is that now almost everyone in the main / supporting cast is a superhuman. In early game, the MC was overpowered but his friends weren't so it raised the stakes of each fight. Now every friend of the MC is some asspull gifted unique superhuman never seen before and it makes everything a bit cheap.
For example, one of Michael / Alice should've remained human. They were both supposed to be the pinnacle of human form and making them superhuman just makes that feat useless. Deryl was a prodigy, WW did not need to make him a monster to keep him interesting. Making the twins superhuman was also not required, it feels like the entire twin apostle stuff was created to make the twins superhuman. The MC should not have been the son of some uber powerful monster, the father should not have known the existence of monsters etc. It just invalidates all the secrecy that was created in the first 3-4 updates

The recent updates remind me of The Boys show. Both the show and this game started out with a small, weak main cast evolving / improvising their skills to take down beings much more powerful than them, but now both the show and the game contains needlessly overpowered characters that simply lowers the stakes and makes everything feel a bit flat.

Uh what? You literally get rid of the entire game if they don't become superhumans. Alice would remain dead. Michael was a badass getting his powers and he carried early game but being human could only do so much before he was out matched in every way. Deryl I suppose doesn't change much, his powers just letting him make things without taking as much time like Xanthe or Tanos. He gets to be in the action not stuck in the lab, besides the storytelling of their childhood friendship. The twins is probably your worst take.
