He said he doesn't want to because the broken characters make the text seem otherworldly. I think it's bullshit, but it is what it is.
God only made water, but man made wine.

If WeirdWorld doesn't want to cook the Papyrus.ttf, we ought to do it ourselves :WeSmart:

Sorry if it looks like ass, had to convert and compress it for F95 to let me send it :HideThePain:

On a more serious note, what is the ETA for the next update...? I kinda remember someone saying here it was 4-6 months

The version 1.0 update is estimated to take about 6 months, maybe 7 if things go wrong. If the next update is 1.0, then that's the timeline. If not, probably another 3-4 months again.

He really said that?, it sounds so weird having into consideration how the Trio are treated, like, when they pull up to rescue MC, Deryl and the Twins, the text gets to the extreme to glaze Malik, Bernie and Henri, more than that it sound actually cool lol. that to say, is a weird stance to have, since those three are already written that way, Indra too, not to forget the twelve Apostles, maybe is the MC what he don't want too broken?

i see people talking about the "trials" and a "checklist" superhumans have to reach to be level five but i think everyone is confusing becoming level 5 with becoming a god/apostle's chosen. there are no "trials" or "steps" for level 5's that's what charecters like michael Alice the MC and jake have but that isn't connected to them being able to get to level 5. the main trio among the captains of Bernhardt Malik and Henry are noted to be different from the others and in Henry's case the reason is all but stated to be that he's like the MC and has another powerful entity inside him on top of being level 5 and while malik's unusually potent power is because he also unknowingly completed trials over his long life as a superhuman this is seemingly only the case for him and bernie not the other captains. with that being said i think it's entirely likely he could take Xanthe's serum to reach level five as that isn't the biggest milestone in the grand scheme of things: The MC harnessing the eye's power is the actual thing that will help him reach those higher tiers of power.

This is wrong. We know from Ella telling us directly that there are requirements to reaching Level 5, and there is a good chance we might not meet those requirements, thus we would not be able to evolve except by the use of the serum.

The trials are unrelated to evolving, but are optional bonuses that Apostles can offer superhumans. Pass the test, and gain a boost or a new ability, or something.

To our understanding, the requirements to being a Chosen are just, being sapient and being well liked by the apostle. Then you undergo a ritual that presumably makes you pure genetically of that line, while also weaving Chosenhood into your very existence.

wait why doesn't the apostle the eye just give mc non stop trials and give him non stop stuff? plus then he would get more powerful. if the eye can even do that or is a apostle

She also says that a superhuman's body keeps track of things like winning and losing, and that if MC keeps on winning he might get lucky enough to meet at least one requirement from it. On top of that, Henri is referred to directly as having met his own conditions early which is what caused his chaining evolutions to 5 so fast.

For the Apostles there are a few possibilities you can make easy guesses for. First being that MC doesn't need a trait from either Apostle, he started with both in a way Ella did not. The vial Ella drank from induced her 3rd evolution and MC didn't need that either. Most of her body's extra capabilities are things she learned under her own knowledge and power. Her eyes are extra special but I don't remember if the game implies anything about how she got them.

The Eye does offer to grant MC its power, but every time it offers it's with the motive of usurping control from MC. It's otherwise only interested in MC surviving long enough for it to fully manifest and cannot act separately because it is (part of) the MC.

i wonder if in the sequel we will see a version of mc controlled by the eye while working with shop keep.

During the trance at St Artorius one of the first thing "Ella" says is "Our eyes.... are still blind... w-w-we must feed... s-s-so that we can see. O-O-Only then, can she begin her s-s-search. M-M-Memories v-v-visible. The O-O-One...." when I first played that bit I thought that meant this ritual is how she got her special eyes, but I'm not sure how to square the fact that she obviously failed said ritual when she didn't kill Christie... but then still has good eyes? So probably off base there lol. Tanos also gets a version of it too and there's obviously no way Tanos did a ritual like that for Memory, although he says his is just "Technology developed curtesy of my dear Ella" so presumably he just used his giga brain + rebis powers to imitate whatever it is that makes Ella's eyes special as opposed to actually getting a proper special eye himself. Anyway feel like I've typed the word eye too many times now and it's lost meaning so I'll stop here but I'm always interested in more Ella lore, even so many years in she's still a big mystery, and I'm sure we will get lots once big Ella is back to life, probably next update?

Is this monster text revealed in a high-corruption route? If so you should put that in spoilers

It's there on both low or high corruption. It's when Ella is speaking to her class to clarify not the bit after when MC touches the memory liquid and the 4th speaks to him, that bit you're right we can only understand with high corruption.

God, this could only have gone more meta if you showed WW on a discord call with MC and Big B joined in to forward his complaints.

What a shit week it was.

There is. Since Superhumans are constantly adapting to both the power and their surroundings and thus to how they use their power, it stands to reason that you can screw up your progress, like Ella did.
We are not sure of the exact mechanism, but with the trials, there seems to be a 'right' path and while that doesn't necessitate a 'wrong' path, it implies that Superhumans can adapt in ways their ancestors would find undesirable.
It's especially the talk that Superhumans have the potential to outgrow their monster parent. To me all of that is just a lot of implications to talk around the actual situation.

Here's the deal with other ways to gain power: we've been doing that since the cafe scene. Eat people, monsters, parts, memories.

Honestly, Nico explaining her specific way of powering up kind of makes it clear that those pathways are very personal and depend heavily on the parentage of a given superhuman.
Ella failed because her ritual required her to kill her entire school or year but she refused to kill christie and in fact destroyed her own body and defied her apostle to do so. she didn't "fail" she said "fuck you i'm not killing one of the only people i care about".

In a way, that's her failing. We don't know what the people that has completed their Trials has done, since they must be unique for each Spawn, like Michael needing to absorb energy from an S-Class, Malik and Bernhardt might have had some wacky shit like, I don't know, nuke an entire City(?, Kill a Million people under a day?, Malik was M-Corp Nuke after all, that to say, if Ella killed Christie despite the grief it would cause her, she would had obtained some stuff out of it, but she didn't, fail because of intent rather than lack of ability is still failure in this context.

but are those "requirements" for evolution individual things similar to the rituals and trials we see in the story connected to an individuals monster lineage or are they just obvious stuff that everyone has to do like surviving/experiencing extreme stimulus allowing your body and mind to adapt by actually experimenting with the power granted by your latest evolution etc. from what we see simple evolution just seems a matter of going through dangerous situations or inducing mutations via methods like monster blood. i may be misremembering but that's what i mean by "no requirements" as in nothing special or not obvious.
