See. This is what happens when porn game dads are allowed to survive. Why do you think dev's are always killing them off.
As long as you dont write something like "The scenes are good but every renders are stolen." you are free to review the game. Just rate the game as it is and forgot about the fact that the renders are from another game.Horseshit. Reviewing the image aspect of a VISUAL NOVEL, should definitely be allowed.
I'm quite sure they feel just the same as they would visiting places like SVSComics and see their game been downloaded 200k+ times. What do you think they feel the most loss from? Some dude pirate their art work and put up an patreon hardly anyone would support because they frown on what he is doing, or all those who pirate their original creation getting pittance and crumbles in return?I'm with you. As a dev you spend hours posing, composing, constructing, and rendering quality images for a game like "We Were Just Kids" and somebody else can do what this guy did and make what is in principle a Renpy slideshow with a few back clicks of the mouse. And then get money for it on Patreon? Not today, Satan! It can charitably be called plagiarism but it is undeniable theft of someone else's labor.
Well, that would be even more stupid! What if his Ban Appeal is:
"Well, what about the many games with real porn? All of those are using 3rd party stolen art. How come they can do it and I can't?"
Yep just tell a dev that he doesn't know how much work devs put into gamesWell, that would be even more stupid!
You know how much time the REAL devs put into just one image?! You obviously don't...
You not only grab the renders without any permission, but you even aggravate the situation lowering the quality of the images.
Using that excuse of "real porn", it's just a stupid way out of it!
As copyrights go, it'd be more the photographer (and/or studio) than the talent. Talent for those types of films/photos fall into the "work for hire" category of creative ownership. (Same would apply for the person holding the camera if working for a studio.)without permission of porn stars
There is also that attitude of... "Oh,it's just porn, who cares"... Some double standards going around..As copyrights go, it'd be more the photographer (and/or studio) than the talent. Talent for those types of films/photos fall into the "work for hire" category of creative ownership. (Same would apply for the person holding the camera if working for a studio.)
To translate it to the rendered world: the photographer is the graphic artist (you, for instance) who composes the scenes, controls the lighting and poses; the porn star is more like the digital asset... and the studio's role (in paying the bills and choosing the stars) is also like the dev/graphic artist.
I've always felt a bit like it sounds (from this thread) several other VN devs feel about the whole "real porn" type of VN on here. Theft is theft, be it using w/o permission photos or digital assets or digital scenes or story text. However, in my neck of the world, there's varying legal degrees of theft that reflect severity (item value, intellectual value, intent, etc).
Just a few thoughts from a past life as a photog who knew some from that industry. (Some of those photo sets represent many hours of set design and work... but probably less than it takes to get to the point of hitting "render".)
Do the pixels in the image look different because the image is taken from another game? No. Then that fact has nothing to do with the game, only with the developer and the development. That's the rules. It's not my rules, but the rules are good.Horseshit. Reviewing the image aspect of a VISUAL NOVEL, should definitely be allowed.
Is it worth to play?Looks like Jennifer from Inside Jennifer. I'll give this a try.
This guy's definitely not a DEV, he's just grabing others renders...Yep just tell a dev that he doesn't know how much work devs put into games
And what else does he do? Did he use the renders creating a new story? Did the images get used in such a order it make sense with the story he creating? Would people get upset still the same if he used rl adult/porn images in stead? and if not, why not? This guy's definitely not a DEV, he's just grabing others renders...
Just speaking for myself, but I have the same issue with the real porn games as I have with this, as such I will never touch this game and in no way would I ever support it. I do think all real porn games should be removed from the site, as the site is opening themselves to lawsuits from all kinds of people. Imagine if one of the talents from the real porn was used as a rapist, like is occurring in this game, the talent might just sue f95 and the creator for defamation of character and would probably win their case if it was tried in the US at least. And what else does he do? It already open itself due to spreading pirated games, like Illusion games sold on steam for 60 bucks. I don't really mind the use of rl adult material. I just object to how it is used most of the times. Because with all the millions of images, video clips, movies and so forth of adult/porn movies you can find on the internet. The same shit get reused over and over and over again. Sometimes even just grabbing things used in other games. That is imho minimnal effort spent on source the assets used.Just speaking for myself, but I have the same issue with the real porn games as I have with this, as such I will never touch this game and in no way would I ever support it.
