Coming up with discussion topics is harder than I thought
maybe today I'll talk about scene ideas?
With hentai university I mostly just let the imageset guide me, having complete freedom often leads to choice paralysis. For that reason my first draft of what each character's content should contain was done very formulaicly. I made a list of the things I could do
- handjob
- mutual masturbation
- oral
- paizuri/chest groping
- vaginal
- hotdogging/spanking
- anal
- footjob
And then distributed them around the cast until I felt I had enough scenes for each of them. I also had angles like POV/side view and character positions like kneeling or sex while standing so the list was pretty complex IE "I'll give Cayenne a POV oral scene, then a mutual masturbation scene that cuts between side view and POV, then" etc...
As such I have a big list of scene ideas I can then put characters into, except it's quite hard to organize as even just vaginal scenes can have lots of different modifiers like if you're doing it from behind or being ridden like:

I actually have scripts which try and keep things working smoothly, like if I do shots with the "head out of frame" tag it'll remove face details so I can get shots like this one:

On top of that I have very busy categories like toys where I need to consider what toy is being used, the position of the character, the angle of the shot, what hole is being penetrated, if the character is looking back or not...

For autofootjob scenes are the feet on the penis or on the balls? Is the character masturbating with their hand/hands at the same time?

For through-wall scenes is it a front/back view? Are they peering through the window or actually stuck in the wall? What should their expression be like before/during/after the scene is done? Fucked silly? Lusty? Not to mention all the possible backgrounds!

All of these on top of the fact that each scene is a set of prompts, not just one. At minimum I need
- The pre-insertion starting image
- The insertion image
- The riding image
- The climax image
- The aftermath image
And all of these have their own variables to consider (should I have a prodding image before/in addition to the insertion image? should the starting image have the player's dick visible? do I want motion lines for the riding image? should I have an internal cutaway for the riding image? for the climax image? should the dick leaking cum still be onscreen for the aftermath image?)
Storage and organization of these scene ideas is very difficult, but also very complex is remembering how they're organized so I can use them afterwards. Maybe for a sorbet scene I want a oral through-the-window scene, I'll also need some kind of system that'll fill in any unspoken details. If neither motion lines/trembling are selected, default to the twitching/trembling keyword pair. If no expression at the end is selected, I'll go with her looking hungry for more.
And in addition to all of those factors when I was using easyfluff I had this whole database but now that I'm using PrefectPony I'll need to go back to that database and change what tags are used, some of them don't work or have terrible side effects (I hate that pushing out a dildo is tagged 'dildo shitting' on e621). Not all of them have 1-1 parallels either, should I be using motion lines + motion blur for scenes where I used the emanata tag? Or twitching + trembling?
There is an absolute metric ton to consider! But I know it'll pay off. While the scripts I'm currently using are very janky their ability to auto-fill missing details and auto-remove keywords which conflict made training the new model much more bearable, and this all will help future AI users get better, more visually interesting results once I've finished the tools.

Mostly so I can keep things simple.
But really I treat controlnet like a collection of different tools as each have their own quirks, I only feel like I understand a handful of them.
- Openpose doesn't work well with the proportions of syrup town characters
- Canny, Depth, Lineart, and NormalMap would require making reference images
- IP-Adapter seems like it could be promising but since I make my own LoRa models I don't usually need help getting a specific character or item into a scene.
- Inpaint, Sketch, and Scribble all seem unecessary since I can just do similiar things in the img2img tab and I understand those better than controlnet.
- And I have no idea what blur, instant-ID, MLSD, Photomaker, Recolor, Reference, Revision, Segmentation, Shuffle, SoftEdge, T2I-Adapter, or Tile do.
Are there any scenes that particularly stand out as generic? As much as I'd like to blame the AI the culprit is probably more likely a lack of creativity on my part haha. When it comes to sex scenes in this game many follow the same general tone and themes due to the way heat/pheromones work, and due to many scenes being limited by the concepts/angles that worked well in easyfluff there isn't as much visual variety as there could be now.
Many of the more interesting scene ideas I've had also don't really fit syrup in terms of content. Things like body modification, bdsm, parasites, breeding mounts, etc are more suited towards games like Rainy DayZ. I have a number of what I think are good shots in my training data for that:

There are a lot of design choices I made very early on that were based on the limitations of the AI models I was using. Because fluffyrock and to a lesser extent easyfluff required a bunch of correcting work to make things look right, I didn't want to commit to making full sets of images for both sexes wherever possible.
A prime example is the shark tarot card, the model just would not do a decent shark girl, I believe that one alone took close to an hour, (all the pocketmanz cards at the time were a big pain as well because the fluffyrock model struggled to make landscape images). On top of that in order to do readings Sharly would need to reference details in the images which might be different between versions.
I felt like vegetarians having the tarot cards and carnivores getting the pocketmanz cards was a fair way to balance things, there's omnivore stuff just because some images came out so nice I wanted to include them anyways. With the new model I could probably start making omnivore content in all those areas, but at the moment I'm still not completely happy with how the current model looks. I'm not sure how noticable it actually is but when I look at how the easyfluff images looked after being converted to SDXL compared to how SDXL outputs them by itself even after training:

If it turns out the difference is unavoidable then I'll just live with it, but if future models correct this (or end up looking like a third style altogether) I'd rather avoid generating a bunch of shots I'll need to come back to touch up later.
Our time on this planet is as precious as it is limited. I can't stomach the thought of spending it on something as truly heinous as covering a syrup town character's crotch.
It goes against every value I stand for, it would be like giving them a normal sized, non-donut anus, please understand.
(Actually, Helena's original pocketmanz outfit had her shorts covering up her donger, so it's funny you bring up her specifically. The change was actually because there was an error in my easyfluff-to-pony keyword conversion script that didn't remove her canine penis despite the bulge tag)

With that said I think we have a different set of priorities, I'm not very interested in anatomical accuracy, otherwise Helena would have a pseudo-clit instead of a canine dick, knots wouldn't always be so engorged, and animal-cock'd characters would have sheathed dicks. Like with true pussy + penis futa, those are personal turn-offs for me. I prefer when things are exaggerated and a touch unrealistic.
Out of the box PrefectPony just can't do accurate feline dicks, as the feline penis, barbed penis, and penile spines tag have basically no effect. From what I recall easyfluff couldn't do them well either, and if the e621-trained trained model can't do it, then the mostly gelbooru-trained anime models probably has close to absolutely no training data on the subject.
None of syuro's art depicts feline dicks either. So while I think some more variety would be cool, more accurate feline types don't spark enough enthusiasm in me to want to teach the model to draw them essentially from scratch. Porcine dicks are pretty much in the same situation though I recently found some Fellatrix shots that I think are neat:

So I may give dicks that look like these a shot. And I may end up using the spiky cetacean ones as well, they make a good alien/monster dong to use for my other games.
Anyone is free to make suggestions for things I should add to the training data for future models, but I have my own preferences and creating new data that matches the style of the model takes a good amount of time. I've had people send me let's say "extremely anatomically correct" shots of hyena anatomy and I prefer the canine donger.
Throwaway mostly got it right, while each character will have their own solo ending, the veggie cast (sorbet, sharly, mary-lou, khanna (and angelica/bluebell/cayenne if you chose not to give them dicks)) will all take part in a group ending where you impregnate them similar to how I did the PTSA storyline in my other game Hentai University. They'll only be pregnant for a short time for the actual ending though.
Mary-Lou being a pregnancy-focused character will get pregnant early into her route and then stay pregnant for the whole rest of the game, even in content where she crosses-over with other characters.
Currently it's all dominant player content in the game. My initial plans didn't really have any submissive content since the model I was using at the time just couldn't do it, but technology has improved to the point where it's on the table. I still haven't figured out exactly how to work it in, there's a lot to consider:
- Adding in a whole submissive-player route would be a lot of extra work and would change the dynamic between you and the whole cast, that's a lot of rewriting even beyond just the porn scenes.
- I have a female MC route planned, I could make this one the submissive route and have all the subby content in this route, but this'd mean no getting pegged as a male MC and femdomming others would be off the table.
- I could add optional scenes where you're receiving to the repeatable scenes list, but I'd have to make it clear what the scene would be about before you click it, and I'd need a way to basically say "not interested" and then have the scene count bypass ignored scenes, otherwise the characters would be listed as not complete forever and the missing scenes would drive some players crazy.
I feel like Riley is the only character who could do that, since Marlow's entire thing is being a sissy, and all the other characters with dicks also have boobas. In my brainstorming I thought about how a female mc route might want to have a different set of characters, but I feel like that'd lead to a huge amount of scope creep.
The plan is that aside from Mary-Lou the cast will only be shown as pregnant for the group ending scenes I described above. I've thought about leaving them pregnant afterwards but then the seasonal content would need to have pregnant variants and I'd pop open the engine to allow for pregnant variants of character outfits to work. At the moment the prego-belly is just treated as a regular outfit, hence all the girls being nude when set to pregnant in the museum. Not to mention I'd need to account for their pregnancy in all their content afterwards.
I think it'd be cool if repeatable scenes accounted for the costume you've set the character to wear, but:
- That'd bloat the game's filesize a ton as each character has a clothed, nude, pregnant, alternate, and seasonal costumes, so each repeatable scene would need like 7-9 versions.
- If the repeatable scenes accounted for a character being pregnant but their other content (like their ending and seasonal events) didn't, people would probably think it's a bug or it'd break their immersion.
- I'd need to update the engine to only reflect the character's outfit if the images for that scene are actually done, otherwise you'd all get a ton of broken images.
So I'ma hold off on it for now. Maybe after the veggie ending is done, that's when I'd unlock the preggo outfits and give some kind of disclaimer that the pregnancy outfit only affects a few scenes?
Just as XoeSara mentioned, not yet implemented. Characters aren't hidden away, introductory events are all placed around the town with no requirements. The only ones implemented after v2.5 are the system characters/shopkeeps (Angelica, Bluebell, Cayenne, Jasper & Garnet) and the main characters added so far (Sorbet, Sharly, Riley).
The rest and more will be added in the future, I'll try not to take too long
