A week on Mars is (comparing to Earth) around 13 days.

I look at donating just like I look at any other tip given. Say I am walking down the street and I hear or see a street performer. I may like or even love what they are doing and " IF " (key word) I have money to spare I will give them a tip. I don't see this as a transaction where I expect to receive something more like I just appreciate what I have received. In essence there is no formal or informal contract between me and the performer.

Essentially this IS what Patreon mostly is ( the exception is when the item on Patreon is behind a paywall to get it, does not apply to any Dev that gives a free to play version ). You are tipping because you like it and have no obligation to continue or do it in the first place.

Of course if no one contributes the street performer/patreon devs will likely not be able to continue performing but there was never any agreement from either party that the performer would be able to make a living doing such, nor is there or should be any expectation from the audience/supporters that the performer will continue to be there day after day or what ever the time line is.

Then how can your theory respond to a ton of Dev's giving out free to play versions of the game? In a lot of cases only delayed for a time and no different then the Patreons access to it. I did provide an exception for games that are only pay walled and there is no Free version to play. In the free version to play scenario it is no different than my analogy.

As far as this site we are pirates whether the Devs provide versions here or not , the devs are not likely stopping F95 from hoisting it. So that part of your theory is moot. It does not matter why the devs do anything as far as F95 is concerned. Look at a lot of successful Devs they offer free to play versions on there own sites in a lot of cases they have figured out it is better a shit ton of people are playing there works because the likely hood of finding people who will tip is increased. the Devs that don't do this generally are not making as much money and their games are niche, hardly a good business model unless you have an advertising campaign. Some do have that you see those games all the time on the tops or bottoms of just about any porn site or even adult game web sites.

Honestly it could been better if Uber not stated estimated release date, because it's always uncertain and leading to dissapointment. I'd rather him to give a teaser than hopium just to keep his patrons from dropping this project.

Well, this "remake" should be really useful for new upcoming updates after this, cuz needs result some well written code, if this don't help the programming of the game this will make no sense since the game continue take too long to update, and Uber himself said that he want to focus in small and more constant updates (he said after the last update) and now this remake maybe is his entrance on Steam.
If he continue to get long with updates, i dont know more what he thinks, because in this pace he will finish the game like 5-10 years.
And the game is already 4 years.

Clearly that the main problem of Mega Update. Even if Uber decided to update it regularly each month, people would still have complain, they always will and you can't stop them from demanding something from the Devs¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . It's a huge dilema for the Devs, for me Uber's choice on picking mega update isn't bad, but he just need to stop estimating the release date. Seriously he don't need to stated it, We knew his content will be worth.

Once upon a time there was a donkey (hmmm... a gullible Uber's fan). He lived by himself and did not worry about it at all. Once a donkey played an amazing game called "Taffy Tales". Well, well, well. Uber asks the donkey: Did you like the game and maybe you want to continue? And after that the donkey lost his peace. The carrot (update) looked very appetizing, bright orange with a lush lace of green tops, and the donkey eagerly hurried to the treat. But as soon as he approached Uber, he suddenly pulled his hand away and hid the carrot behind his back. "The time has not come yet. Soon you will receive the coveted reward, you just need to wait a little.", - Uber reassured the donkey.
Years have passed ...

Moral: Ok, Uber joked on the first of April. Really, somebody was seriously waiting for the release of the update this weekend??? You just don't know Uber well yet.

Let's see - the game is free for us to play for the work Uber and his development team put into it. He does put out updates, even if not as timely as we'd expect, but he does work. We have played without ever paying him.

And, yes, there are subscribers donate to him. If they don't like his work ethic, they can stop (something we have stated over and over again). There are some who do - but the vast majority stay on, and his subscribers continue to rise because the quality of the work the devteam performs, even when it takes longer than people wished.

It really must suck for you to have Uber live rent-free in your mind, day in and day out.

Buddy, you may be surprised, but there are still things in the world that are available to any of us absolutely for free. I absolutely don't care how much Uber gets for its work. It's just unpleasant when people are milked with the help of vain expectations. You take any attacks on the developer so warmly to your heart that the thought involuntarily creeps in: maybe you are an Uber
This guy just has to pay you for the work of protecting him here.
