What I am wondering was there an actual "promise"? or was it an estimation of "completion"? . I don't have access to the posts on Patreon but I would think it would be unwise to "promise" anything in this line of work. The issue I see is that every update cycle the same thing happens when the update is "perceived" to be late. People say the same things every time , scam, milk, bad practices and mismanagement. There are some in the thread that just get tired of it. I totally get people have a right to complain but frankly you all should be used to it by now. The updates are almost always later than people expected. So what is the purpose of stating displeasure almost every time people should be used to it by now. imo. A mature person would have either just excepted this is the way it is or have moved on to other games. (APoc1 waits for incoming hate  )

All I gotta say is - this guy had it called correctly back in November:
v0.68.2a came out in September
v0.47.5a came out around March
v0.22.0a was about August 2020
v0.17.0a was around April 2020
v0.14.3a November 2019

Based upon this information, I would expect no earlier than March/April 2022. But we could be surprised. But then again, not.
It's the post I built my own history tracker from:

Don't presume everyone is a freeloader, brah.

Im an Epic Pie ($10 tier) and while not particularly pissed, I completely understand the mad crowd (mostly due to Uber promises - had he been quiet, no one would be pissed).
Who is presuming anything. maybe read the conversation you're jumping in on.
this conversation started at #19,839 , feel free to quote my presumption. everything I've posted after that was either a question or postulation in reply to ohers.

Those who have sincere complaints about the Devs practices, I'd expect to take up with the Dev in question or Patreon directly, and failing that if they really felt the need to vent here, they could post something that actually sheds light on their experiences, something with specifics that demonstrate they aren't just half-witts bitching about imagined promises

The bottom line is if you act like a troll, you deserve to be treated like a troll.

You're either the dev in disguise or you outright refuse to use your reading comprehension skills.

...

We really appreciate the patience our fans are showing, we know you're eager for some kind of a deadline for the next release, and we can now confirm an APPROXIMATE release date of sometime late Febuary.

...
If that isn't explicit enough, not even taking into account all the other times this has happened before I don't know what else to say.

You do know what approximate means right? That is not a hard date there is a lot of gray area in the word approximate. Either way who cares? the update will come when it comes.

I have worked in project management - "approximate" is not a promise, not a commitment, not a deadline. A date is a deadline. Even better if there is a time attached.

Also, as is stated in the discord faq for the devteam:
3) 'When's the next update out?'
The next update will be out once it's ready. We take pride in having our word matter, so we won't fully commit to a release date unless we're confident we can make it!

"approximate" is never considered a commitment, it's exactly what it is - an approximation.

"Once again, we are sorry for this delay, the update will be ready as soon as possible, and you can still expect it in early March.

Thank you for your understanding and support."

The main issue is the "early March" comment.

Folks were expecting (after a delay) It in first two weeks or so.

I understand your perspective on those words and that "early March" - but it was prefaced with "as soon as possible" and still did not give a date. It is still an estimate and not a definitive answer. A date - i.e. April 8, 2022 (as an example) is a definitive answer and can be used to hold someone accountable. Anything else is a guess, a hope, an estimate, a wish.

Estimates should be followed (specially after failing to meet the first one).

Im not really mad ir anything, just think Uber could keep us informed about what still needs doing.

U-ha-hah!!! Following the broken hopes of BDSM club of Uber fans is much better than playing this game itself.

End of March. Now the fools are betting on the beginning or middle of April, and a whole bunch of idiots are supporting them in this. Uber said, Uber did. So a couple of updates ago, the dev said that he intends to abandon the release of the so-called "mega" in favor of shorter ones, so as not to delay the release of updates. And where are they??? Almost a year has passed since then  You are being fed another super-puper "mega"update. Lol's, because in the case of dev of this game, making any predictions is a thankless task. The game already brings its dev good money. The milking of idiots continues: "Thank you for your understanding and support."

it's almost as if video game development is difficult, and people have their own lives they try to balance while making a game, and things can come up unexpectedly to delay development, which makes even giving vague release dates extremely difficult. especially when the art style is as detailed as this game, and when there are so many characters and flags to work with.
I'm not a game dev tho, so I don't know. I just try to give the benefit of the doubt when I can. I AM a patron tho. so I'd like to see a new update at some point. but yall like to forget how ambitious this game is, and just pile on the hate, thinking it does anything helpful. if you aren't a patron, wtf are you even complaining about?

Kinda sad the update is taking this much time, I will be going to live together with my GF soon, so I won't have too many opportunities to experience the next update most likely. :(

If the rest of the world had the Patreon dev work ethiquette we'd still be living in the middle ages...

The only reason this happens here is because these guys have horny teenagers to answer to instead of a board of shareholders, but hey, that's the tradeoff of porn game development.

As long as there are fools in the world
We live by deception, therefore, from the hand
What a blue sky!
We are not supporters of robbery
You don't need a knife for a fool:
You're going to lie to him like hell
And do what you want with it

This thread is nightmare fuel whew going into hibernation after reading all this my brain is fried

I would say don't let it bother you although I feel the same. Just that I am not really wanting this thread to become an echo chamber for hyperbolic non-sense. People have the right to complain but some are bandying around so called facts and just don't have any real evidence to back up their salacious claims. Sadly this site is filled with threads that have this problem. It has nothing to do with being a paying supporter if you are and are happy with the way things are why should I be upset? I am not a paying supporter and I am not on Discord I am just a person playing a free game and thus I cant be milked so to speak. I can't be a "white Knight" either I have no contact with the Devs in regards to this game. I am just a reasonable person that dislikes extremism and occasionally will push back on ridiculous comments. Hate me if you will , don't give two flying rat fucks about it if you do.
