My understanding was that the pills were gonezo patch or no patch, maybe I'm wrong, though. I thought deem said something about he wanted to take them out anyway. I'm easy either way, just thought I remembered him saying that.

That's also fair. The alpha release contained all the previous CGs that required the pills (even though they couldn't be accessed in the alpha version of the game), and the drug dealer guy was still there (even if you couldn't actually buy anything from him) so I assumed the forthcoming patch would account for this. I very well could be wrong. I shouldn't assume, because it makes an ass out of... me and me.

There where various pre-alpha builds e.g 1.9, 1.92, 1.93 etc. We skipped over 1.7 and 1.8 as due to this being such a big re-work Deem thought best to just make it 2.0 and continue on from there.
