If they gave any fucks about their money they would have cancelled payment themselves.

We all get the dev dropped the ball but one thing that seriously pisses me off about people is the severe lack of personally responsibility.

It's not up to the dev to look after your money, it's up to you.

If people are still backing him then that's ALL on them.
If someone's paying me to do something and I keep taking their money even though I'm actually doing nothing I think that's a scumbag move.
Especially since pledges are automatically charged each month so it's easy to forget about.

Sure, but I hold people to standards. If I forgot my bag somewhere and someone rifled through it and stole all the valuables inside I would recognize that I made a mistake in forgetting it but that mistake doesn't nullify the fact that someone saw something that wasn't theirs and decided to steal from it.
What Deem did these past months is immoral and dishonest in my opinion.

Right, but they're not mutually exclusive. At some point the old "get a clue" has to sink in and you cut the pledge machine. It's not like all those patrons weren't actively checking in all the time waiting for the next update.

You assume that no one just sees a game they like and throws a few bucks its way and leaves it be until the next update.
Besides his inactivity on Patreon, Deem never hinted that he wasn't working on the game so I'm sure a solid amount of them remained pledged on good faith as well. I'll reiterate that in my opinion Deem has been acting immorally and absolving him of blame because "well, they should've realized Deem is a lying scam artist" is pretty shitty.

On the topic of Deem being shitty; using anxiety as an excuse for his bad behavior is also incredibly scummy and insulting to those of us who actually suffer from it and work to overcome it every day.

Welp, I'm off the thread again. The more posts that go here, the longer it stays "alive". I think it should be dead until the game is reasonably resuscitated. No one at this point has any reason to believe it will be updated anytime soon, so I'll go back to creators who actually deserve my attention...and my money.

(However, maybe he was telling everyone something when he picked his name....)

Why leave this shitshow? It's no longer in 'popular games' and won't be, so your posting has no effect now

He hasn't even made a post on his page! he just told some people on discord. Why? Because they are his most faithful! If he tells people on his page he'll have more lost money then ever!

Anyway, whose gonna support him? His team left him, his mods left him, how is gonna make his game?

You still assume that current level of support is by mistake. But people willingly support all kinds of nonsense, so why not once promising creator, even after he went MIA? I actually find it more believable than the other explanation, i.e. that out of the original maximum of 951 patrons (according to Graphtreon), 519 current ones just forgot to stop their pledge.

Has Deem said anything to his patreons about going away, or not working? Unless you are on discord you don't know what is going on. So no, quite a few people are in the dark, the others are discord cheerleaders who will probably support him for years.

Deem hasn't said anything specific, that I've seen at least, but I don't have the time to troll his discord and make a game myself. That said, I'll support him, spiritually, as I'd really like to see the game continued. Might even pledge again if he gets his shit together. We'll see.

This is some ridiculous defense. With this logic things like usury, misleading advertisement, poorly labeled food and aggressive drug marketing would be legal. Even then, there are a lot of legal practices that are highly unethical and deserve full contempt (e.g. fake news, lying in general). Furthermore, nobody is blaming Irredeemable only.

We are all calling him a scumbag for being misleading to his patrons, which he undoubtedly was (see the community section of his patreon, where people are still asking what is going on). No matter how you want to spin this, there is no way to defend the lies and crap he spouted before he vanished. Turns out the skeptics were right and should have been allowed to speak out.

I will never get over how many people here shit on multiple devs when they speak english poorly or have poor art or because they don't like a game (see DarkSilver), yet defend consummate asshole behavior like this. It's no surprising that the same people who influenced the mods to delete negative reviews and multiple "negative" posts are the ones still in complete denial.

Not a single thing you said there has anything to do with my point.

Not once did I defend the dev but I certainly do expect people to be responsible for their own money.

Reading comprehension.

If you could get out of the way of your own indignant outrage, you would notice a follow-up where I also said the dev is deserving of blame. But, to absolve each donor of responsibility is short-sighted and tunnel vision.

But, hey, thanks for your generality-filled rant.

Read the post you originally quoted, you are the one bringing up a complete strawman (who even said what you originally argued against?) for no discernible reason other than to defend the dev, which you have historically done.

No point in continuing this, you were proven wrong anyway.

I agree.
Deem is not responsible for all those people who made their OWN choice to keep paying him al those months.
I canceled my Pledge right when he changed the game a couple months ago because it was obvious that it was dead.

Has Deem used his pledgers and filled the heads of his fans with empty promises...Yes..
Does that make Deem a person with a questionable morale... Hell yeah..

But every one of his pledgers made their own choice to keep paying him money...And that says more about the person who kept pledging (a.k.a idiot) then Deem.
Don't get me wrong... I will never trust Deem again in the future and he will never see a Penny from me again, but i feel like a lot of people on this topic are more mad at themself for being such an idiot so they project their frustration at Deem. (Again... It was your own choice to pay).

And people who haven't payed a dime at all have 0% right to complain about Deem.... Give their opinion sure, but complain and be mad.... No..

Proven wrong?

How?

The guy I quoted blamed the dev for other peoples money saying he should have stopped payments.

Like any responsible person it's up to the people paying to monitor their money not the developer.

You didn't prove anything wrong, you blathered crap in a couple of paragraphs that had nothing to do with anything I said. The only thing you proved is you have no idea what the hell is going on.

No, he blamed the dev for not being transparent. As I said, you brought up a complete strawman.

And you were proven wrong because you defended the unsupported crap the dev lackeys brought up before the debacle. You think I can't search your posts on this thread?

I'm done here.

I will call out scumbags all I want for their scummy behavior. I think you are a little too obsessed with porn games if you want to silence people calling out unethical behavior because you want to fap.

No community in real life works like that and I don't see how a healthy community can ever exist otherwise. People criticize scummy behavior whether they were wronged or not because unethical behavior is contemptible and undesirable, and that's the least you can do to deter it.

Still spouting off without saying anything.

Either make an actual point or stop prattling on. You've said absolutely nothing of worth yet seem to think you on some moral high ground.
