Slow is a joke...the last update was 4 years ago, not even icstor is this slow.Given the slow progress update...
i mean the tag was inevitable due to inactivity, but the game is still being worked on[abandoned]
rip
I'm still waiting for the next update, but for my mental health is better to see the game as abandoned, I know that is being in development currently but is so crazy the time from an update to the other that stupid scenarios like "All of this is a montage" or "The development is abandoned and we are being feed old cancel content" seems possible.i mean the tag was inevitable due to inactivity, but the game is still being worked on
That's probably the best way to look at it...plan for the worst and hope for the best. The dev will likely push another update due strictly on how much work seems to have already gone into what he's working on, but I get where people are with respects to not hedging their bets, especially given the environment we're in nowadays.I'm still waiting for the next update, but for my mental health is better to see the game as abandoned, I know that is being in development currently but is so crazy the time from an update to the other that stupid scenarios like "All of this is a montage" or "The development is abandoned and we are being feed old cancel content" seems possible.
Anything is possible at this point and I prefer to think that everything is lost and if one day, one year the update drop, will be a pleasant surprise
so that's a yes, it is patrons only, or a no, it's not patrons only, again if anyone can join please send me an invite
I wouldn't really call it a visual novel, far from it in fact, but that's besides the point. The situation is that MD isn't a full-time programmer, being primarily an artist, and works on the game as a passion project in their off time. Last update uses flash, which has died, so they had to learn how to use a different engine, then transfer the game to that engine, reworking several systems in the process. It all just took a while to get done in a way that MD liked, especially when it isn't their focus. It's still in development? Seems weird for a visual novel kinda game to not release updates in 4 years.
Can someone explain the situation?
Shortly yes, the game is in a development, with some hiccups we expect an update around Christmas or before next summer.I wouldn't really call it a visual novel, far from it in fact, but that's besides the point. I won't call it a passion project, when in reality it's just a hobby. If it was really his passion creating new games, then he would go fulltime. No disrespect to him, but sometimes fans are talking total bs.I wouldn't really call it a visual novel, far from it in fact, but that's besides the point. Calling this a passion project is an insult to indie developers working their asses off in order to make a game.I wouldn't really call it a visual novel, far from it in fact, but that's besides the point. Damn, put it in that way I totally agree, this project can't be call a passion project if we see other ones. A person doing a passion project would put 110% of effort on said project to see it completed and in its best shape, even if MD is now working a lot to get it ready in few months, in the moment they abandoned the project for so long time shows that was not passionate enough to be called like such.Calling this a passion project is an insult to indie developers working their asses off in order to make a game.
Terraria is a passion project. Stardew Valley is a passion project. This is not a passion project.
I like this game, don't get wrong, and I have nothing against Meandraco. But come on.
The definition of a passion project has nothing to do with the level of enthusiasm or hours of hard work per day or any other such thing. It means "a piece of work, especially a movie, that someone gets involved in because they love it or feel it is very good and important, not in order to make money."Damn, put it in that way I totally agree, this project can't be call a passion project if we see other ones. It's also not an official discord, though Meandraco (Dr Duum on the discord) does pop in semi-frequently.
