I doubt there is really different views.
Yes. As we have established, there is my view, and then everyone else's. And that is okay.
I also doubt you managed to make an extraordinarelly good gameplay, because we know lemitations of RPGmaker.
I never claimed that I have made "extraordinarily good gameplay" nor that I would be capable of it.
Only that what I am creating would be substantially better than what I had previously.
Of course, how much this matters to your average player will vary.
I believe you are correct that the vast majority will not care too much one way or the other. They just want more porn.
The important thing is that I care. I cared enough to make a decision about this well over a year ago. I stand by that decision.
But it's totally okay and understandable that you disagree. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.
Found the cause. If you get both Vanessa and the dog in your party at the same time by doing both their rescue quests at once, all random chests break forever.
I guess the game starts trying to read one of their luck values when rolling for loot or something.
That bodes poorly, as the quest with Debra demands two party members...
Yes, someone just helped me find the problem earlier. The issue is a check I forgot to perform when Vanessa leaves the party in Day 2, but only if you had Jasper in your party as well and moved him to the pharmacy first. It's that specific order that causes it. The problem itself is that the game averages the Luck Stat of Tiffany & her companion. When when Jasper and Vanessa are in the party and returned in that order, the game still thinks there is a companion and is trying to take the average of a second party member that doesn't exits. This will be fixed in the next release.
There are multiple workarounds though, the first is to reload the save and have Vanesa leave the party before Jasper.
The other way to resolve after this is to go and add Debra to your party, or if Milburn is free adding Vanessa back to your party and taking her to him for his quest will also resolve the crashing.
The other horses will work too, but will only stop the crashing while they are actively in the party because they also miss a similar check but will not cause this issue on their own.
I really dont know why the fuck devs in RPGM games always do this they miss the entire reason RPGM is good for porn games.
1. you can have different artwork sprites to show your characters changes
2. same for equipment and if they are pregnant/big tits or not
3. ez to implement different cgs for different characters
4. can make cgs part of the battles
It is not i repeat not to play the old antiquated 1990 style of anime rpg games there is a reason no one plays those kind of games anymore they are boring and often not that engaging yet almost every fucking dev that makes a porn game in RPGM tries to make their game play "balanced" like i just cheated in the grenades to skip fights i had already seen.
Its like people are playing for the porn not the shitty turn based combat.
Why? Because I decided I was unhappy with the gameplay and wanted to change it for my own sake if nobody else's. I concede that most of these changes won't make the game into anything all that special in the grand scheme of gaming. Far from it. I am just one idiot after all. But I fail to accept the argument that this isn't a direct improvement over what I had. Or that I shouldn't even try to make it more varied and enjoyable.
I also accept that not everybody wants much of a game with their porn games, but alas a game is what I am attempting to develop. If I wanted to make a pure visual novel out of the same renders & story I would have just done that and saved myself the trouble. But I specifically wanted to make an RPG that I could play in different ways, and as of v0.09 there were different choices you could make, but the rest of the gameplay loop was boring and tedious to me. Now it is less so. That might not be much of a difference to many, but it is to me, as the person who plays this game the most. After all, I made it for myself because I couldn't find what I was looking for in other similar games.
In the end, when it's all said and done (whenever that may be) I would like to have made a game that I personally find interesting to play on some level. But if you want to cheat to skip the game part as quickly as possible then go for it. More power to you. It's your time after all.
