Hmm, I may be in the minority, as in I don't project myself into these games and a harem to me means that it's just more women to have sex with and not some weird power fantasy, but I didn't see this game as "femdom" at all, and thought it was a pretty stupid thing to re-write it to begin with.
All those who got their panties in a wad because of the MC being drugged need to maybe grow some testicles and stop acting like the estrogen laden targets they seem to want to chase in a fantasy game. it's unfortunate that there are some who are perfectly fine with sleepraping a female character in a game as long as it follows their harem fantasy, but heaven forbid something happen they don't like with the MC. So he was drugged, big deal.
There was no inconsistency in the game. The basic premise was that if you pass the initiation you can have sex with whomever you want, and those who had passed the tests, men or women, did so. The big shock was that the women had sex with each other, and of course, since it was all to be hidden from anyone who had NOT passed the initiation, it made sense that they took measures to try to preserve that secret. it was more of a sex conspiracy to keep things hidden than anything nefarious to actually hurt the MC.
Unfortunately, the weak courage and weak self-esteem crowd who love their personal power fantasies, regardless of what potentialy detestable things the MC did in other games they liked did like mind-control or sleep rape, were vocal and complained about the game because their individual fetishes were not met. That was the true sad state of the game and what caused the decline.
It's unfortunate that those who complain the loudest about any infringement of what they feel are their 'rights' to how a game should unfold, when the vast majority of them never actually support a dev and get shit free here to compalin about, don't make their own games so others can lampoon their ideas and bitch about how shitty their efforts are (all while getting the game for free). But let's be honest here, those who put the most effort to whine and complain about a story they don't like have an almost zero percent chance to actually make something creative because that would take too much effort, and expose them to negative feedback, which might crush their already fragile courage.

Sorry, but I can't agree with that. The guy basically called everyone, who complained about the story, a sad and insecure hypocrite, who didn't have a right to complain, since the game was here free.
Now, I was one of the people who complained, because I dislike sleep-sex, drugging and raping regardless. No matter if it's "my" male MC or a female side-character. And I did support the dev on patreon, so the game wasn't exactly free for me either.
I really don't believe anyone complained about being "mistreated" because of self-insert. The vast majority of complains dealed with the very unneccessary mistreatment of the MC by his family. It was empathy, not vindictiveness.
And Devs DO need to find an audience for themselves, if they want to make money and be successful. So they DO need to be "the players bitches" in a way, if they want to create a product their chosen audience is willing to spend money on. Patreon is no different. Nobody is going to support you, if they think it will lead to something they won't like in the end.
I really can't find a single point in that guy's insult-riddled rant I'd want to support.

not only that but the game was advertised in the beginning (was changed later on) as a harem... for harem players...
so yea, it is the fuck up of the dev since he was trying to re-invent the "harem wheel"
see here, the problem is that the story was actually decent. i enjoyed it. a lot of other people enjoyed it. none of those people thought the developer was failing until he started catering to the wave of woke idiots that cried about his game, instead of simply leaving the thread and going to find something that was to their taste. then that was a massive fail. never cater to retards. it wont make them any smarter and wont make you or the sane people around you any happier.
and this is 100% accurate. it wasnt like they were giving the MC meth and sending him out into the forest to be molested by bears so they could have orgies bathed in blood. they put all the kids to sleep so they could do what their society had been set up to do without disturbing the kids or causing any unecessary stress on their customs. so many morons these days rant about how so many things are social constructs to justify their delusions, until a fantasy game comes along and a social construct isnt to their liking, so they cry about it? and before you say it, as ive seen many times, that there was no one hating on the developer, i saw this thread from the day it was released, and there was an obscene amount of hate thrown at a developer because people didnt like the premise of the game right off the bat and thought it should change. imagine that. telling a tv show writer that they like his pilot and want to continue the show, only if they change the premise, setting, and characters, otherwise there will be hell to pay. could they have accomplished the same goal a different way? sure. but that can be said for literally every other story in history if you start at page 1 and say rebuild it from the ground up. the funny part is you dont realize how hypocritical your own statements are. you spew hate at this guy for posting his opinion because you dont agree with it, so why would you think that your opinion should be valid when you start off by criticizing him for something that you intended to do in the next couple sentences?

you obviously didnt like the story from the start. otherwise you wouldnt have cried about it. i assume you never actually gave the developer any support, since if you dont like it why would you pay for it, and if you willingly pay for something you know you wont like, then you have only yourself to blame. i wouldnt pay for 14 kicks to the testicles, but if it was advertised as such, and i went up and put my hard earned money on the table, and got kicked in the testicles 13 times, i wouldnt expect anything else to happen on the 14th swing. and i definitely wouldnt blame my stupidity on the person who kicked me. the other problem here is that the developer still had support, and it wasnt cancelled for lack of support. it was cancelled because the developer didnt want to deal with the vitriol he was experiencing for trying to create something. it had an audience, and it have a wave of morons screeching about how they didnt like someone being fed a mild sedative. oh noes, end of the world. unnecessary is subjective. it was a prologue. maybe if anyone found out before the tests they went crazy and were eradicated by a race of space aliens intent on keeping all children in the dark about sex until a certain point. maybe an outside group of shadowy elites wanted to control every aspect of society and would kill entire families if their wishes werent met. it could have easily been explained in much simpler ways than my insane rants i came up with off the top of my head while typing. but instead of giving the developer the room to develop his story, or simply going to find a project you actually like, the rest of us got to read all about "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" from everyone that thought they were the morality police in a porn game. i still cant find any single point of the argument that the developer needed to change the story because some whiners didnt like it that id want to support.
it still boggles the mind that there are people so adamantly defending their shitty actions towards the developer that they will sit here in an abandoned game they helped kill and argue that they werent the bad guys because their own feelings make them benevolent somehow. you got your wish, the game is dead, no one else gets to enjoy themselves because you didnt like something that was a part of the project FROM DAY ONE, get fucked.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember the Dev trying to appease a certain group of players with a specific definition of what those players decided the game should be. Full disclosure - when it first released - I bitched about what purpose the mini-games served.
BTW, the 'Harem' tag means the MC will be pursuing multiple love interests. Nothing more. And if you disagree with that definition, you are free to take it up with the site moderators because it is the site's definition.
