ive read somewhere that dev stated that he is planning to put sandbox into the game from the very beginning. i also made a small comment about that in one of his the class next door games long ago (dont remember which "version" lol). im not their patrons, but some are here. seeing how they changed the title and treat it as a new game, i believe those are the result of most players & patrons disagree with it.

thus maybe some patrons that still supporting them are the minority voices but majority monies so they keep the sandbox as it is.

I hope I can summarize what happened:
TCND was a pure VN at first. 9crux said that he wants to add a sandbox mode into his game when he's more comfortable with RenPy and after a while, he did release a PoC of the sandbox mode to a lot of negative reviews.

He asked people whether he should switch the game to sandbox mode. IIRC, the poll had five or six options. People were overwhelmingly against switching TCND to sandbox mode. There were a few who said they like the idea of a sandbox, but not this particular way of doing it.
I think 9crux teased VD by that time and patrons said to leave TCND alone and use VD for experiments like that.

So 9crux just ignored the poll, said he will incorporate sandbox into the game but will fix the issues that people had with it. He did change it, but half-heartedly and never addressed the actual concerns, only his impressions of people's concerns.

As for majority income, no. 9crux uses the peculiar uneven vote allowed by subscribestar where the more you pledge, the more voting power you have (which is why, if you want to actually influence change, it's better to drop $50 every five months than $10 monthly) and that's reflected in the poll votes.

People opposed sandbox vehemently and those who were on the fence eventually sided against sandbox.

ive read similar comment like yours before in this tread too. that's why i respond that way. planning to create sandbox from the very beginning BUT executing it later regardless what their supporters said. yep, im intentionally write: supporters not patrons. and im one of those supporters IYKWYM

The story of The Class Next Door EX2 continues with new game The Class Next Door SR.


First episode of SR dropped today for ten dollar substackers. It continues the erotic scene between Tiffany and the MC following the wonderful scene with Tiffany, her mother, and the MC in EX2.


This new game looks very promising. Already many elements of tension and good foreshadowing.


I was afraid it would be a sandbox, but it's a sandbox with built in walkthrough and no cogs. It was easy to play without any confusion about what to do, no wandering around, no pointless clicking. Also, developer has heard the message, and is eliminating the dreams.


And the scene with Tiffany was great!

Dev notes January 2024, second entry.
Alright, I have big plans for 2024; I will be moving TCND: EX2's story into a summer break.

The girls going are:
Daria, Emily, Joan, Marjory, Melanie, and Tiffany.
The guys going are:
Daria's Dad, Emily's Dad, Marjory's brother, and the Main Character (MC.)
I think Marjory could get some "help" from Daria, Joan, Melanie, and Tiffany; yeah, they may let Marjory get extra estrogens.
Joan and Melanie will also be working for the resort; Melanie has experience managing a hotel and Joan knows how to manage a restaurant.
Eleonor will be working on a last project before moving close by Tiffany and the MC; she may visit the resort once in a while.
Emily's Dad (Mr. Michaels) and Daria's Dad (Mr. Anderson) have their eyes on some of the girls, including Tiffany; They planned the summer vacation with the intention to get closer to the girls... (devil face)
The resort will get random guests once in a while; we may see some surprising content once in a while (devil face.)
I plan to name it TCND: SR SR stands for Summer Retreat; it will be a whole separated game; a new entry into the series.
I must warn you that TCND: SR will be my darkest game yet.
In the current TCND: EX2 timeline, the MC is getting back with his ex-wife. The MC knows that he can't keep his current lifestyle.
So... grab onto your chairs and get ready for TCND: SR!

Some more updates.
Now, a quick note about the upcoming TCND: SR.
In the upcoming new entry (TCND: SR) the story will follow Armand, Mr. Michaels, and Mr. Anderson as they try to seduce, blackmail, spy on, and corrupt the girls.
We will also witness how the MC and Tiffany come to terms with the idea of becoming a normal family; the MC wants to marry Eleonor again and his current life-style (harem) will be in the way.
We will learn more about the guys and their motivations; they will go through many hardships while trying to achieve their lewd goals.
Keep in mind that, in my game, there are different timelines and in the current timeline the MC is getting his ex-wife back; Tiffany will be following her own path.
TCND: SR tags will be (between others I may miss...) Big boobs, Romance, Relatives, Voyeurism, Groping, Oral sex, Anal sex, Vanilla, Cheating, Corruption, Blackmail, Forced, Petite, Threesome, Lesbian, and more!
I told you TCND: SR would be my darkest game yet! Previously I said I wouldn't add dark tags to my first game... but this is not my first game; my first game was TP: TCND.
"Pizza weekends!" subscribers will have the right to vote for story progression and who gets it.
"Dreamsparks" and "The VIP club" will have the right to vote for lewd content and who gets it. They will also have the right to vote for new kinks or, maybe, to remove some kink they don't like. We will see as we go.

Alright, let's talk about TCND: SR's design; the gameplay I have in mind involves tasks or quests.
I want to add a journal or quest tracker; it will be a simple notebook telling players what to do next. TCND: SR will have navigation.
Navigation will use a simple method; it will go like... choose floor, choose location on that floor, and/or select activity. Some events will only be available on specific days and at a given time.
Some subscribers asked me about choices; in TCND: SR there will be choices to make and those choices will affect events progression and routes. I will be implementing multiple protagonists; we will play as the guys.
The guys have their own goals; between them we have seduction, corruption, and more.
I will implement the gameplay gradually; episode one will be linear or kinetic but I also want to introduce the gameplay mechanics. I will add as much as I can.
Currently, I'm building the locations, rendering new side images, and working on the GUI; involves a lot of coding and graphic design.

TCND: SR Episode 1 Progress Update!
Hey there, I'm currently finishing up renders for main events; all the graphic design and gameplay mechanics took me a while.
Let me share a little more about the guys...
Aaron is Daria's dad, he has a secret BDSM fetish; he wants to build an underground operation to make his fantasies come true. Aaron is a hands-on guy and he will be taking care of logistics and building stuff.
Armand is Marjory's brother; he is a visionary business guy. He wants to get rich selling his favorite things... lewd images and videos. In TCND: SR he will be trying to get dirt on the girls so they do what he wants.
Michaels is Emily's dad, he secretly owns a strip club and is looking for new talent; he is determined to add the girls to his staff... by any means necessary. Michaels also offers special services to rich and powerful people; he makes perverted fantasies a reality for those who can pay for them.
MC will be struggling to leave his harem life behind; he wants to marry Eleonor, his ex, again. Eleonor doesn't mind if he messes around with Tiffany (as long as it doesn't go too far.) Tiffany is ok doing most things with him, as long as it doesn't involve going all the way. The MC will have a hard time wanting but not being able to go all the way with Tiffany.
I better go back to work; I will release TCND: SR by March 5; earlier if I can.

Yeah, I tried this new one. The girls are beautiful, episode is quite short, 150 renders. The biggest issue is the writing and the story, if you don't have the talent and skill, unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it.

Just to make it clear, no problem with NTR, but when i am "immersed" in what i expected to be a classy romance/harem thing and then get faceslapped with "Oh, no harem, just your mentally instable ex-wife now." followed by "And oh, you will now have to watch a bunch of shady losers that you thought were going to be cockblocked by you rail, use and abuse all the (mostly) mentally sane girls you were already looking forward to rail, use and abuse (romantically of course) instead of you doing so. Hmmm ... the scene at the hotel and the first attempt to defloring Tiffany.
In my opinion, at that moment her mother was to be present to observe and support her daughter at that moment, which she decided to give her husband to the role of his mistress.
