Seems like a very high ratio of AVN devs have shit go wrong in life that stops them working on it.

It's selection bias.

Devs are forced to share more about their lives than most people, so they appear to have more things go wrong than most people because you hear about it. Add to that that there aren't huge amounts of devs to start with, and any patterns you think you see look a lot more exaggerated than they really are.

Exactly, my family members had health issues since november, amount of free time in freefall, but nobody cares because i'm not a dev.

Don't know why you would say "lofty goal" but I'm guessing you're trying to be sarcastic.....

FF updates on discord now and then. As have been said, he's busy with real life but works on the VN every chance he gets. It will get here when it's ready.

He's also puts up previews of ch 9 on Patreon.

Checked Discord, don't see anything recent regarding Coven. I don't deal with Discord a whole lot. I am just not social enough to involve in conversations. Patreon, only shows anything to paying members. Living on a disability income, I cannot afford to be a paying member of anything, let alone a porn game that is past a year since "product" was delivered. (When you pay for something, you expect to receive something in a timely manner. Since I am not paying, I was trying not to be a dick about wondering when an update MIGHT be coming. And yes, "lofty goal" was sarcasm, since it shouldn't be such a remarkable thing to expect some story advancement.)

He was on Discord about a month ago and you don't need to be a paying Patreon to see that the last previews from ch 9 was on may 26th.

The whole idea behind Patreon is not to buy a product but to support the artist, there are no timely manners for a product to be delivered. That's why there is the whole subscription thing, if you don't like what a dev is doing, stop supporting.

Guess you missed the part where I said I'm on a limited income and don't buy subscriptions to anything.

And when I looked at Patreon, everything was behind a paywall. I don't mind a dev making money off his work, hell, I'd be HAPPY to be a supporter for some of the 45 games I follow if I had the income to do so. (I can't, that's why I get my games & news here instead of Patreon) I just find it a might irritating that you can't even read updates without paying.
