You complain that the last update was short, despite the fact that it was well communicated that it was a complete rewrite of the game, so only had a relatively small amount of main story progress as a result.

Which literally no one asked for, and the whole change resulted in addition of 3 bare bones quests written not even by the dev, with characters we hear first time about and that do not influence the main story in any way, shape or form, and have no lasting consequence. If you do not want to include the main characters in the quests, why do you even add them?

I'd say that the most important person in this equation probably asked for it--Hopes. Hopes is not [REDACTED] who seems to let his $40 patrons guide his project.

I find it fascinating how you guys interpreted it all so different. Make me both excited and fearful for how you guys will react for future 'situations'

A little bit busy at the moment, but I'll have more questions for you when I get home tonight after 5 to 6 hours or so (PC literally died on me yesterday and trying to solve the clusterfuck of mess it has made yesterday and is still making today at work).

I do not know about that, "as much time as he needs". I think 7 months is quite a long time with no update, i guess if you are fine with waiting for another 12 or 24 months then he can take as much time as he needs. That is too long of a time i think though.

Basically, a whole year of development was wasted on the fillers, and now the first content update since forever is just a few Gracie events.

Are we in the full-on "1 update per year" cycle now? Cause it will probably give a ration of 1 render/week or something like that.

Well sure, Noone actually asked Hope's to change the contracts system, but I'm one of those people who really wasn't a fan of the old contracts system and the gameplay.
Old system felt incredibly boring, lackluster and much less engaging overall.

So having the contracts to be changed so they are more immersive was a definite welcome change for me (if you don't like it, then I guess too bad for you).
The main LIs get plenty of storyline and exposure in the main story/events as well as their own freedom events.
Why would they even be involved in contracts when they're not even involved in Family business yet?

This is especially true for Gracie (at least until she gets permission to work for the family) & Isabel.
Sure Luna and Cordia are in family business, but Luna is sort of an outlier Capo who works on her own (and doesn't have her own crew), hence MC's current level of contracts is way below her level, and Cordia.....lol well she's literally the Dona so has more important matters to attend to regarding the family than what MC (who is a mere soldato) is doing.

Also, one big draw for these contracts is that they are a chance for the side girls to shine (and dudes also perhaps? Wouldn't mind some badass side male characters to shine also if I'm being honest), since they don't get nearly as much time in the main story.
So of course the contracts (from Wilfred) will focus on the side girls.

I absolutely love and treasure the main girls, but adore the side girls too.
Don't know about you, but for me (and likely those who favor the new contracts), this is a win-win scenario (also, considering this new gameplay will be included more into the main game in future like Ombra mission was, well I like the sound of that).

Regarding the update time, I'll only say this.
While it's not always the case, generally when season finale is announced and developed I found Devs pushing hard to put in as much content as possible to finish the season on a high.

I expect that is the case here.
Especially considering there's one Luna event and 4~5 Gracie events + Season finale event and some extras.
Don't know about you, but for me it already feels more than usual (also need to consider Hopes having gone through surgery which delayed things).
Sure, would have been nice if we could have gotten the update sooner, but it is what it is, and I'm fine with the wait until Hopes is ready to release it.

I mean that's all fine and all but man now I'm fearing for your life when you get to the next update (did you check out the previews with Hopes dev posts? Yes there will be lewd with Luna, but update is heavily Gracie-centric, and let's just say.......... there's quite a bit of naughty scenes with Gracie ).

Sure, you can probably send someone to kill Gracie (like with Eiza), but are you sure you wanna go down that path?
Going after Gracie seems like one-way ticket with no return.

I understand you.

I cannot tell about all the games on F95 (it is impossible to know everyone), but, there is only 2 that kept me just because of the story.

One, obviously, is The DeLuca Family. I don't intend to be presumptuous, but for me, Hopes made maybe the first authentic ADULT Visual Novel. Not completed yet, it is true. But has a huge potential. It is very possible that I am wrong about it, just because I do not know all projects over here.

I'm not here to discuss definitions itselfs or tags, like whats is "VN", "Sandbox", or else. For me, "Adult" is related to the story itself. That means you (the player) will be not only involved on a mindless sex plot for some hours. Many other games around are fun, but only very few can make you remember their characters. DeLucas is one of them.

Not to compare, but a example, "WVM" is classified as a VN harem story, which MC can fuck anyone who moves. Is it fun? Of course it is. But you will never see a single one character as Luna on that. Because it is not suppose to be. The female characters on WVM are, on their best, narrow, shallow, or just plain as it is. It is fun, but it is like a "gonzo" story. Nothing wrong with that, but it is like a fast food (to my perspective, of course). DeLucas is on the opposite side of that.

At this point, I believe is a character's depth from Luna (and others) is that makes a difference between this project and others, on the term "Adult VN". You can have fun, jokes, boobs, asses, and many more things at DeLucas, but not enough, you have a potential badass mafia story. "Potential", just because it is not yet a finished story.

Besides, one thing about DeLucas that makes me never complain about the time between new releases: "My name is Luna" is not a story that you can develop on one single day. It takes time. One another is that I am not supporting Hopes on Patreon, due to my poor income (never encourage your kids to be journalists, it works only on comic books! ). To me, it is a matter of respect to the dev, and the other people on this thread.

The Mysterious Six story scenes alone makes it better than most of the games I have played. You could literally make that storyline into a movie

Okay, back at home, and here are more questions for ya Hopes (guess I scraped the bottom of the barrel for these, heh):



1) Activities exclusive to each main girl like

- buying & drinking wine, as well as yoga with Isabel
- watching porn or adult movies (for the sake of learning) as well as dancing practice with Gracie

will they continue to be recurring events even in season 2 (or are they getting changed for something else)?
Also, in regards to these recurring activities, will Luna & Cordia each have some of their own?


Just asking cause it feels like while Luna has variety of great events, none of them yet feel like something which her and MC may do more than once like drinking with Isabel or dance practice with Gracie (even though I have a sneaking suspicion that her being in a dress and in formal events might be one for Luna).

For example, perhaps an activity that Luna might enjoy doing is doing combat training with MC which will lead to tussles that may range from vigorous to playful, and may lead to several lewd situations (especially grappling and wrestling, oh boy. I can only imagine).
With Cordia, since you said Cordia is passionate about cooking, perhaps (or not) that could be one of ways that can connect MC and her (amongst other things) [yeah, I mentioned this often, sorry. Just would love to see some activities where MC and Cordia bond with]?


2) When people see Gracie in town, their attitude toward her is that they treat her like a princess (as shown in Town Time event) by the townsfolk.
What is the reaction when they see Luna?

Is it fear or wariness (I say so, cause in one of the contracts, when MC brings up Luna's name saying "You wouldn't want to disappoint Sister Luna, would you?" the kids if I'm remembering correctly got a bit scared and got more compliant) or another reaction?
And how does Luna react to the townsfolks' reaction? If they're scared, is she pleased with her fearsome reputation, or does she feel sad that people aren't being warm to her like they are to Gracie?


3) Not sure whether this is a question you can answer, but did the first generation of Serpents (i.e. Cordia, Rina, Rina's fiance, and likely MC's father) have specific uniforms/wardrobe like the current Serpents (not sure we can call what Gottardo always wears as uniform, heh but with the armor style that "Serpent" wears and Gracie wearing Cynthia's former uniform in beach prison event does have me curious).

If so, will we see these 1st generation of Serpents wearing them in flashbacks? I mean, yes we have that amazing pic of young Cordia in that white dress in the blizzard, but I guess my imagination is running wild as to what her official Serpent uniform would be.


4) (I probably asked this before, but sorry, seems my memory of it is a bit rusty) What content will be in the "Lore" section which will be coming sometime in the future? I think I remember there being history of the war and some Families as well as Heirarchy of each Family teased, but any others?


5) (I guess this sort of relates to question 4 as well) Any chance the lore section can contain all the symbols/sigils of the Families (e.g. DeLucas, the rest of Big 5, Fazio, Ombras, Carnefice etc etc) and groups (e.g. 4 Serpents, Wilfred's Division etc), and misc organization (e.g. Mysterious 6, Pacificatori), and more info on them?

Perhaps ones which are currently spoilery like rest of Big 5, & Mysterious 6 (and others which are coming in the future) could be greyed out until they are actually revealed in the story, but the rest, I'd love to find out more.


6) (Just asking out of curiosity) Are there any Families which their symbol isn't animal based (you know, how in GOT Starks are Direwolves, Lannisters are Lions, Targaryens are Dragons, yet Boltons are "A red flayed man, hanging upside-down on a white X-shaped cross")?
What was the symbol for the now "no more" Carnefice Family?

Also, any symbol for the Pacficatori organizartion? Or do they have none since they're a neutral party?


7) In contracts, since Legendary items are highest tier items, once the player obtains a legendary item, will there be chance to gain different legendary item?
For example, even if we have Lock Glasses (Legendary rank accessory item), I'm wondering whether we'll still gain another Legendary accessory which its stats are distributed differently and used for other purposes.


8) The Capo Angelo's 3 deep scars on (his left) side of his face, is there a story behind that, how he got it? Perhaps during combat when fighting against a rival family?
Is that something we might find out (through a flashback, or if not, something that Angelo might mention, telling his story to MC or others)?


9) So, no doubt there will be plenty of Dons in the DeLuca universe. But are there any other Donas with some Families? Or is Cordia a special case?
Also, will we see more Don's/Dona's children other than Luna, Gracie, Jalen, Charvi (expected to appear), Siobhan in the mix? Would be pretty nice to see more characters in MC's age group.


10) Speaking of MC's age group, will we see our MC mingle with the other soldatos in season 2?
I mean yes, it's reasonable to say that he would spend a lot more times with the girls and Isabel (and possibly Cordia when her route unlocks) than others, but I sure would not be averse to MC spending a bit of time with other male recruits/soldatos of same rank and form a sort of camaraderie between them.


11) MC's "Wet Dreams" segment, will that continue to be ongoing, even after MC starts to have bed action with the main girls (till the very end of the game), or is there a planned stop to them?

Don't really mind it either way, just curious.


12) I'm actually looking forward to return of Apce, when he comes back later as deadly and dangerous as ever, and possibly giving Luna a run for her money in their rematch.

Any inspiration in terms of his design, personality or even name?


13) Can we get Chibi designs for more characters? Pretty please??
They just are soooooooooooooooo adorable!

Absolutely in love with the Chibi design of Luna, Gracie and Isabel (and definitely looking forward to Cordia), and would love to see more.
And not just the female characters, male characters definitely deserve some love there too (would love some MC, Wilfred, Antonio, "Serpent", Gottardo, Joey etc Chibi designs if possible)!!

You know what? We should also have Chibi design of Floaty, and make it official!


14) Are any new music scores or soundtracks additions planned for the future (I love game's version of "Sakura Cherry Blossom" and the music we have during in-game, but would also be open to any additions to music which would further complement in terms of tone etc)?

Yeah, of course. How could I forget, they are Don's children, and Eiza (princess!) & Fina are of course previous.

Though in my defense, when I wrote that question I was thinking more in terms of Don (or Dona's) children in which their Family is still thriving (and as you're well aware of, Carnefice Family is sadly no more), where these children play off the whole Family dynamic/chemistry with the Dons/Donas and the Family soldiers.

Well, if the wait is too long for you for whatever reason, there's two possible solutions.

(1) Hopes speeds up - won't happen, it's not his business.

(2) You (silently, we don't need to book the Madison Square Garden for this) declare that this game isn't worth your time and move on to something else.
