Summer's Gone has not been in development for 4 years and neither has Hillside whatever you are smoking seems to be interfering with your ability to count.lol there are games like Summer's Gone and Hillside which if I'm not mistaken have been in development for similar length of time to DeLuca (if not longer), and have no sex scenes yet (in fact, Hillside only has couple more updates to go until game's complete and there's still no sex scenes. Despite that, great game that's enjoyable).
And yes, those games devs also have the "story first" policy of the game which the dev maintains, as well as the people who complain/whine saying "where are my sex scenes!" (particularly those who want quick fap lol)
So no, I don't find that to be a valid thing to say.
Just people who whine feeling entitled, because the dev is not following their demands.
For those people, I'm actually tempted to say they should try out games like The House in Fata Morgana, a great game but has zero sex scenes

Well, okay, but the main reason people are complaining/whining here are that the main LIs aren't banged yet (and from what I can tell, main LI Charlie, there still isn't a sex scene with her yet).
Charlie's sister? Sure, there may be a path where MC bangs her, but given that she doesn't really seem to be given the main LI treatment compared to Charlie or Emma (I'm only interested in the former, not latter though both of them, there are no sex scenes), I'd say she's more of a side girl (like Eiza in DeLuca) than a main girl (like Charlie).
But that's all I'll say, given this is veering into OT territory.

I think it's pretty apparent how this dev feels about the people who don't like the lack of sexual content. If I recall correctly, he even put a joke in the game about it. The fat guy crying about the no sex bit, I think? Kind of a waste of your time because I doubt the dev really gives a fuck about the people here for the sexual content.

Like Cordia telling Gracie directly (in front of Wilfred & other DeLuca soldiers) that she has her permission to work with the family.
We didn't get that, alas, but I guess we can sort of expect it for season 2.
And I have to say, that dining room scene was nice.

My sentiments exactly. The announcement happening after the finale of season 1 kinda makes it feel like it was Gracie randomly getting hurt that influenced the decision rather than her proactively forcing them to accept her as a result of the hijinks of episode 8.
But the dinner scene did make for a nice cliffhanger finale for season 1

You forget that you don't PAY for the game. You donate to support the developer.
You gain no rights by donating money, and you even get the full game for free if you don't donate at all.
You plebs should stop to claim that you have ANY rights just because you pay some bucks - just read the ToS. Aside that, most people crying about what patreons should get when they "pay" aren't even patreons at all.
So i repeat myself: You may leave if you don't like it - no problem.
But please stop badmouthing the developer just because he doesn't do the speed YOU expect. You should be happy that he releases his game for free at all (higher tier supporter just get the game few days earlier)

The honest answer is no. All of the info is somewhere in the 1300+ pages of posts, but here's a quick summary.
The next update will be mainly missions and any other bits and pieces needed to get the game ready for chapter 1 to be released on Steam.
Like any steam release, there will probably be some updates to correct issues before development resumes in earnest on the story.
Hopes, (the solo developer), lives in Denmark, which has a very high cost of living. He has needed to work a full time job to pay the bills, and this means long development times. This might change after the steam release but probably won't.
Hopes has always been clear about the fact that although he would like to work full time on the game, real life issues take priority.
