The reason I didn't ''moved on" is because of all of the people that made outrageous claims that after checking are just not related to reality. So, instead of just moving on from a game you didn't like previously, you felt compelled to try it again (without even checking if it had gotten a rewrite that you desperately want? lol also why would it even be rewritten?
When reading all the fawning reviews and post after post about how incredible the story is, how magnificient the story, how marvelous and grand it is, how emotional, how deeply felt the narrative is, the game play, the settings, one of the best games ever if not the very best on this forum..... how much more checking should I do before trying it again for myself?
If you try a dish in a restaurant and it's not to your taste and years later you hear from lots of people how fantastic the dish is .... and it being typically a dish that you love... if you are an adult you'll give it a second chance because perhaps you just had the dish on the chef's off day or perhaps they changed the recipe or perhaps your palette was of.... and then you go and taste it and it's slimey, putrid, smells funky.... I for one push back so that others don't have to endure that experience.
If you can't cope with someone listing glaring errors, mistakes, bugs, unfinished options, plain sillyness and story lines that one wouldn't accept from a 8 year old, in other words facts about this game it's not me that has a problem. Perhaps time to grab a mirror and take a long hard look.
Tastes differ. Sure. Not everyone finds the same things funny or pretty or great. However this isn't about taste but about being an adult. And please, don't start about it being a slow burn. I have no problem with slow burns, for a story to work your audience has to get invested in the characters and most of the games that I love take awhile for things to start to happen. But for a slow burn to work you need the audience/player get invested in the characters and they have to actually portray their character in their actions and their dialog. This game has lots of text but never the less it doesn't really flesh out the characters at least not in a believable manner.
Its kind of telling that the 'fans' of this game instead of addressing the points of critique they rather dismiss any criticism to protect the dev. I can only presume that all those people are suffering from sunk cost. Here's an idea for you, if you want to improve something you first have to acknowledge that there is a problem.
Why would it be rewritten asked JJJ184? Because the story doesn't make sense. The characters don't make sense. The stageing doesn't make sense. The lore doesn't make sense. The renders, pretty I give you that, don't make sense in the story.
By the by, all of you that think this game is a 5 star (or anything more then 2 star) game because of the marvelous writing... is there truly not a single one of you that pointed out the glaring grammatical error in the very first line of text which has been present now for FIVE years? English isn't my 1st language either but common guys.... is your bar really that low? And no, it's far from the only fault that can't be blamed on a typo.
