Hmmmmm.... What can I say about this game. The best piece of storytelling that I have ever played in any video game, and probably one of the best scenes across any media IMO. We are talking about Luna's story of course.

But the updates have been so underwhelming for such a long time, that I have just started losing interest in playing it anymore.
The story basically does not move forward anymore. I'm sure it will be a masterpiece in story telling once it is done, but it I'm just not excited about it anymore.

The last version I played in 2022 (0.8) and it seems from the description that there is very little that happened since then.
Will wait another year and then I will try it again. It will be good once it's done I'm sure.

4 months without an update and people are calling it dead. Noobs do not have much experience with games here, if they knew how long it takes for some games to release an update.

I just hope you are right, but at the same time it's hard not to go with the sentiment. As alfius pointed out as well. Content wise the game has not really progressed much since 2022, surely there was a steam (re)release, we had some lore and some lewd content with the bikini lady, but story wise there was next to nothing. Combe this with the promises made e.g. hopes going full time, but he has no nothing to show for it, the last release was released early to give the players something but then the additional content never came. Well and then you get the sentiment that we are in now....

But then again, hopes deserves the benefit of the doubt as his game is just to good. So i reslly hope you are right and that hopes is working somewhere secretly to program the best game ever.

Either way HopesGaming if you are reading this, i hope you are okay and know thst no matter if you developed nothing. The game you brought out already is so awesmome, you can be really proud of it. If i could give you any advice, it would be to always stay true to everyone, including yourself. If you cant make it to do anything on the game for a year, thats fine. If you lost your passion to continue, thats fine. Just do not make promisses you know before hand you cant keep. Setting s goal and not making it, is ok, as long as you are honest about it.

Uh, you're remembering it wrong.

Season 1 finale was a cliffhanger, but it was Gracie getting shot in the DeLuca family's dinner (or could have been breakfast or lunch, for all we know) with an attack from unknown forces. Poisoning food was what happened to MC in the very early part of the game.

I think everything went downhill, in a major way, since Hopes added the text based mini game. It's not the mini-game itself, which is frankly just bad and seems to belong in a completely different game, but also it just seems to have taken all his attention or perhaps allowed him to pass off development to someone else, so everything else has been very short and rudimentary, not to mention taking over a year each release for the last 3 or years. This game has been in development for 6 years, but the last several years have been basically next to nothing story wise.

This looks pretty much like the slow death we have seen with many, many games here. The dev takes longer and longer to release, with less and less content per release, less and less communication, until all but a few fans forget about it. It's too bad. Story-wise, Deluca Family is in the top 5, but development has to actually happen.

I remember how in the discord literally everyone were telling him that mini-game idea is shit and will kill the game by distracting him from the main plot. Then he took a year and a half introducing like 3 quests with combined playtime of about 20 minutes, and it all went downhill from there.

Sometimes people are not wrong.

I think Lockhear made more renders with Deluca characters in the last 3 years than the dev.

yet most active games even though they only get 1 update a year usually have devs talking more than what is it now ? once in 6monts or something. i could agree with you if the dev had said anything about the game. instead they dont seem to have been active here or in discord or even online in discord as far as i can see. instead we get a dead patreon not used since may, a dead f95zone and a dead discord also since around may. i mean not as much as a HI PEOPLE. they put out season 1 and went dead silent

When you have a fanbase that support everything you do or in this case don't do and attack anyone who even think about asking if there is any update about the game you don't need to do anything
I like this game so much but at this moment I don't give a fuck about it anymore
You couldn't be more right about that. The Deluca family's fanbase is probably the worst I've ever seen on this forum. I remember that some time ago, you literally couldn't say anything about how Hope was taking more and more time to deliver updates without them attacking you and making you feel bad about it. But it seems like maybe the people who were criticizing him weren't so wrong after all, huh?

Hmm, I actually like the mission mini game and thought it was an improvement over what we had before. To me, I'd say the Steam release and supposedly going "full time" as a dev is when things went south.

I'm not shitting on the game or the dev. It's a great game and I have nothing against the dev. But just look at the enthusiasm for the game. I posted a week ago and we are still on the same page.

This game used to be one of the top games on this site. If you look at other top games, you can barely keep up with the thread. Your post disappears inside a ton of other useless posts. (That's why I rarely post in very popular game threads)

I would expect the same from the Deluca Family, but the enthusiasm for this game has died. I was just making an observation. I'm not excited about updates anymore, since they have been a bit underwhelming for a long time. So a new update for TDF does not excite me anymore. And I say that as an absolute fan of the game. It's not that the quality of the story went down, but it feels like the story does not move forward.

In any case... not going to post more negative posts. The game is still an awesome game. I just motivated myself to play the latest updates....lol
