Take it some people don't know this vn has really long development cycle's updates could take a year or more and yes could be less

like i played the update before the steam release several years ago and it has the exact same content as the new version. Like did the dev even do anything significant at all on this in the past several years? i just treat this game as abandoned af. I feel sorry for the people buying it on steam.

Of course, nobody knows anything, which is part of the problem. Personally, if I had to bet, I think Hopes is still working on the game, but just at a slower and slower pace, until basically the fans will get 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay every 2 years. But, I wish he would have abandoned all the minigame parts, both before and after the text based mini-game shift, and just make this a straight KN.So the end of time is here since this is forever huh?
How do you know that he is NOT working on it just because we haven't heard from him for a while? Know something the rest of us doesn't (regarding Hopes)?
Not sure if that would make anything any faster as far as updates go, but at least focus on what people care about. Plus, the mini games make the game worse in every way, and doesn't fit at all in the story. It's lazy, because he got someone else to do that part, just as filler to the lack of content is less obvious.

But to some point I can understand it. Hope post nothing since over since 29th of May this year on Patreon. Even his most recent post on Discord is from 22th July - if that hasn't change.
He had almost 900 subscribers in April 2021 and now he have a little bit over 400. I don't know what he earns through Steam, but assuming that this also is declining then his goal for being full time dev, may be proven very difficulty to maintain.
I do hope, he is working on the game, but I have no proof of that - sure, I also have no proof of the contrary, yet I begin to think that this game may never be finished.

Pretty much. Get rid of the mini games and focus on the story. Such a waste of development time with the mini games.... I'll play other games besides AVNs if i want an actual "game".... i just want to follow a good story. VNs are about a story and not about mediocre mini games.

Hope wasn’t satisfied with the steam numbers, pretty sure he’s burned out from it and not as motivated.
You know, it seems I'm not the first one, but I won't be the last one. You should get used to, or ignore it.
TBH I don't know how many other post like mine exist, because I'm not invested into this game forum, and I played it late 2021 the last time. I already forgot it, until I remembered a bit of that game. I also forgot the name of it, and used the search for "mafia game", and then found it. And I found out, that after 6 years of development that game barely moved forward.
And it is my right to judge, and leave a sloppy comment.
Also, after this post, I will move forward, and will forget it. Will even forget that I answered you.
But you know, the worst part is, seeing people like you, who stick to a six year old "almost dead" game, and kinda defend it. This is sad! Move on! Or will you defend this game for another 12 years until Episode 3 is finshed? Think about it!

Look if a person wants to defend a dev or a VN that's their right to do it I mean I get development cycle are slow but would it kill this dev put something or discord once a month or 2 last time I checked nothing for a while

Well JJJ messaged Hopes, but JJJ was going on vacation right after. So I’m guessing he isn’t back yet. However you would think that if Hopes saw that message he would’ve showed up or posted something somewhere. Not feeling great about the future of this game right now.
Hopes has a gem here but he’s doing a terrible job at going full time on this game. You aren’t going to pick up support with no updates and horrible communication. Not hard to churn out a progress report every couple weeks. Doesn’t need to be complicated. Something like work continues currently on scene 3 of 6 for the update.
Always amazed that people can fuck up the simplest things.

burned out from doing what? dude has barely touched his game the past couple years. If hes disappointed by the numbers well thats on him too. I think most of us know this game never getting finished at this pace so why reward/invest in that? Id rather buy a lesser game that is actively being worked on.
its a shame cuz the game could be truly great and has a really interesting story, but story means fuck all if it never gets made.
