yeah, but he should have said something before going dark. It doesn't have to be much. (Taking some time off, and will return at a later date), doesn't have to say anything about personal changes

What I guessed was he lost motivation and from Steam money he took a break. Kinda sad he didn't pause the Patreon money coming in when he took a break. I want him to handle personal life first but don't just take money without working on it. I feel like I was swindled. Glad I stopped paying a few months ago.
I agree there are devs out there who will pause Patreon when don't work or taking a break.

Well at this point it's all speculation. He said he stopped going on social platforms. Never said he stopped working on the game. Only one that knows that is Hopes. Either way he definitely should've done a better job of communicating what is going on with his supporters. No excuse for that!

You are absolutely right. For a short break or a vacation I wouldn't mind to continue paying for Patreon during these, a dev deserves to take a reasonable time of paid vacation. But a long break from game development with complete radio silence like HG did? Nope. The right thing to do would have been to pause Patreon, particularly with the Steam income pouring in, and communicate his intentions. If it was something serious and personal, most of the supporters would have understood if he had said so.
Like other deves do, PhillyGames (Depraved Awakening and City of Broken Dreamers) for example handled this properly. His Patreon payments are still paused and he is still engaged with the fans. Granted he has 2 full games selling on steam now, so Patreon income is not what it used to be for him, but still...
I think now HG is trying to make up for it by pausing Patreaon and working on the game without that support. It is damage control at this point. Is that enough? Some may think it is, others may feel that it is too little too late... Personally, I'm on the fence on this one.
All in all, after all is said and done, I just hope that HG is doing ok, and that this game keeps going and the contents keep coming. I really want to see what happens next.

If he had made somewhat acceptable progress (considering he's already slow anyway) he would have simply stated it and there would be no outcry/need to pause patreon now.
Whatever i hope this continues but yeah ...
hahahaha lol.. She was someone who released DLC once a year I wasn't surprised at all.....shame that its abandoned as it was a good story

Not abandoned, realistically though one mid-size update per year is the best we can hope for. Better than nothing though.
appart from the fact that this years 'update' was the steam release and never added any gameplay. the end of season 1 was 2 updates ago already

I downloaded this back in April 2024 it promptly put me to sleep and sat on my SSD until today. I checked the gallery and I don't see any HC but maybe I missed it.
