Good to hear!
Good to hear!
I have a deja vu with another gameDev Post:
Hey DeLucas!
I’ve been dealing with some things in my personal life and decided to take a step back from social communication for a while, including Discord, forums, and here. The good news is that things are back on track now, and I’m still actively working on the game.
However, due to limited progress recently, I’ve decided to temporarily pause Patreon subscriptions until the next release is ready. Once everything settles into a normal routine, I’ll re-enable subscriptions.
Thank you all for your support and understanding. Wishing you all a great weekend—don’t forget to take care of yourselves!
Best,
HG
Big difference is that Hopes never bsed people. Hell, the post he made didn't delve into any beyond that he had personal issues and that he's pausing patreon until the next release. Add in that he's not promising any false release dates and he's being pretty straight forward on the situation.I have a deja vu with another game
Can't see it being abandoned after putting the game on Steam, well at least I hope not.So... aboned?
Literally in the post above you the dev stated that he had some problems but is now back to work on it but it may still be a while, so not abandoned, on hold would maybe be a better markSo... aboned?
I would wait until official word from the dev as this site tends to put abandoned tag on things that haven't had a front post updated in a while
there was a dev post on patron today. While kind of basic it does kind of say he is still working on itSo... aboned?
Well, at least he's still alive and maybe there is still a chance for this story to be finished.
I highly doubt it now after this kind of message though. Its fine to take a break from social (or in general which is more what this looks like) but just mentioning it in a sloppy message afterwards paints a really bad picture.
Usually its expected to inform your customers/fans before you go down under.
This isn't some little hobby project (anymore), this is (supposed to be) business after he put it on steam.
It sounds like he either lost the motivation/drive or something like a heavy depression but i doubt strongly now that we will see this story finished. I even had more hope left before he came back lol, his message is more disheartening than his silence lol
I think he was referring to Summertime Saga. It had a similar drama like this game currently having.which game
yeah, but he should have said something before going dark. It doesn't have to be much. (Taking some time off, and will return at a later date), doesn't have to say anything about personal changesI'm not sure if that is the case or not, but if the game did well on Steam, the extra infusion of income may have pushed them to make some life and personal changes, and even take some well earned time off and then return to work on the project after the dust has settled.
Looking at the charts, it looks like interest in the game, and I think the sales too, may have plateaued in the last few weeks. This could be enough to motivate the Dev to get back to work to maintain the income levels I guess... But what do I know? it's all pure speculations... lol
That said, I've seen a number of devs go through this post-Steam cycle, so this is not as strange as it seems.
I agree there are devs out there who will pause Patreon when don't work or taking a break. What I guessed was he lost motivation and from Steam money he took a break. Kinda sad he didn't pause the Patreon money coming in when he took a break. I want him to handle personal life first but don't just take money without working on it. I feel like I was swindled. Glad I stopped paying a few months ago.
Um.. why didn't he do that straight away when you know.. he stopped working on it? why did it take months.. and he didn't even apologise. However, due to limited progress recently, I’ve decided to temporarily pause Patreon subscriptions
