Because of Da rules.
Short if a game has the prefix abadonded then only an update can remove it.
Long arse explenation: What hornyy say and "on-hold" is only given on a request base. As hope didn't communicate at all for over 3 months, da rules happend and *peng* abadonded.

Read the posts just above yours. The game is only tagged that way because of the site's rules. The dev hasn't said anything about abandoning it.

don't think with the main girls yet. but if you are playing this for porn you probably won't have a good time. I love this game for the comedy and story but mostly comedy

There is a reason why S1 is definitely one of my top 3 games, not just what you wrote.
But I also have legitimate concerns: IF the dev resumes his work and IF he should release S2 at some point, will S2 be able to maintain the extremely high level of S1?
We can only hope that he finds his "flow" again, otherwise............

yeah I mean it messed me up more than Luna's backstory and that is really dark only thing ive seen that is worst and darker is Renne's back story from the legend of heroes trails series ( not a AVN). Probably because I got super attached to Grace and her personality + comedy.

Firstly, it comes out of NOWHERE and is completely unexpected and secondly, how emotionally the scene is described and thirdly, as you already wrote, it hits the person who is (still) least involved in the "family business"!
The only cliffhanger that has reached this high level to date is "The Neverwhere Tales". This cliffhanger is also extremely well done.
i really hope you guys continue this game it really would be a shame for this game to be abandoned like this, since this game has all the potential to be not just in the top 10 but i would even say #1 on the list

it took him only 4 days to awaken from a 3 month slumber after it got the abandoned tag. surely it's just a coincidence right? it is also worth to mention there hasn't been any new content since v0.09.5 (567 days).
I am the first one to shit on Hopes but man paused Patreon subscriptions, gotta respect that even though it should have happened months ago.But yeah that whole "full time working on the game" went down the drain, the chance of this game reaching its epilogue is lower than ever...

If you look at the changelog, the REALLY last update was version 0.09.0 and that was in summer 2023!
Sorry, then it would be better not to update at all. The update would then have the character of a cliffhanger without a resolution. This is the situation we are currently experiencing.

o I just want to see the very next moments afterwards , while I would like to see some character resolution I know that would be a bit too fast pace for a story like this. I wouldn't expect it till the update after or the very end of the next at the earliest.
After a little while i come Here to check for News and look at it, the "Abandoned" tag really does motivate thèse devs. Now he obviously is trying to save face by stoping payments but what about the money he took while Not working and ignoring his patreons? I hope people won't Fall for it.

It was in my Top 2 for a very long time. But, I stopped being a regular when the rework happened.
When saves don't work and you have to start over, it's not that bad if it's a very short game, and not that time consuming, cause you can easily skip through already seen scenes to get back to the new stuff. But, for lengthy games like this, it takes way too long to get back to the new stuff. I absolutely can't stand having to redo the same scenes over and over, every time the dev chooses to rework older scenes. I get it. New quality..fresh ideas for scenes...still...I would almost ALWAYS choose finishing the story first, THEN reworking the quality and adding in new scenes, at that time.
What would most people do if they filmed a movie, got people to love it, released part 2, got people to love it....teased a part 3, with trailers, built up a following, then said "NOPE, We're canning Part 3, mid production, and starting a remake of the original?"
To me, it's the same thing. Finish the story, THEN rework it.
Maybe just my 2 cents. Take it with a grain of salt. lol
