As someone who paid for it on Steam, I have a bit more ability to complain. But I read her Discord. She just got married and had some health issues that caused her to take a while off. I can think of at least one more Dev who has health issues that causes him to not be able to update like he did in the beginning. But I, unlike you apparently, understand that there are real health issues. Not excuses. She says shes getting back to work on it now. So maybe in a few months or so there might be the start of the new season.
He, not she as the dev is a male.

Ahh the old 'Health Issues'. Ok we can cross that one off our bingo card. Just waiting on 'The dog ate my computer' and I will have the entire set.

Someone who will finish it
Ah, well, yes of course.
  1. The abandoned prefix here, obviously stated that the dev abandoned the game. No, it does not. It is just a prefix given to a game that have may be officially abandoned, have no release in a very long time or the dev goes radio silent for a long time. For more, read da rules...
  2. Most of the games, if they are picked up again by someone, that someone is the dev from the game. I haven't really seen a VN that was picked up by another dev - without handover from the previous - and finished it.
  3. As the dev has stated, that he still works on the game - if you believe him or not is your decision - I assume, that the amount of people wnated to "finish" the game in his shoe is rather small.

I hate white knights, especially when they have their head stuck in the sand.
1. Did I mention the abandoned tag? Can you point out anywhere in my 5 WORD answer I insulted the dev and/or said that it was abandoned? Even you, Whitey McWhiteNightp0 must agree that it has been years since the plot was advanced.

2. I agree, but measured against that fact is that I want the game finished before I die. I'd rather it was Hopes, but at this point in time I don't believe it will be, which leads on to your point 3

3. It was at 0.3 I think when I was subscribed to his Patreon, and that was Jan/Feb 2019. Since then, tectonic plates have moved faster than his plot. I reckon Morocco will bump into Spain before Hopes gets around to finishing the game - even if he is still working on it. I hope I'm proved wrong, I don't think I will be.

To be fair, it's only been a "good game" because of the author.
If the author changed, it wouldn't be the same game\story anymore.
Sure, it might get more frequent updates (not difficult) but it would potentially lose a lot of its charm, because that's driven by the author's writing & his character creation.
imo if he has the option too hire a person who deals with the gameplay(I doubt this would happen) aspect and he deals with the story because it's been years since the cliff hanger I just want to see if it gets resolved but I doubt if and or when he releases a update with content it will resolve that cliffhanger, I just need closer on that part and I can move on and maybe come back again in a few years to see if will have any more content

Oh well, mister dark knight. Frist of all, I serious doubt you can be proofen wrong, with what happen first, as at the time Morocco will bump into Spain we all have bite the dust.:geek:

And for you 1.
No, it was an assumption, mostly the same that I am Whitey McWhiteNightp0. Also, please point out, where I should have written anything about you insulting the dev?

you know i think sometimes people forget that the developers of these games are human beings too who have their own lives to lead and other stuff they have to do along side making games or family they need to support i mean didn't the dev get married then move house after which he started backup working on the game. The amount of time this game has got the abandoned tag on this site is funny at this point think the abandoned tag requirements need some updating and working on to be honest Though i think some people often forget the devs aren't robots who are supposed to be slaving away to create these games for your enjoyment a large portion of the developers of these games do this as a hobby along side their real life responsibilities and jobs

Agreed on the first part, hard disagree on the second. Devs are human beings and shit does happen but abandoned tag is pretty fair and if it needs any tweak it needs tightening, not loosing. Even if they are doing it as a hobby, which is not the case for this game because of steam and so on, and if they care about the tag then all they have to do give news about the game once in awhile and make an update every 18 months. Pretty fair if you ask me. Though, I am not sure a dev would care a tag here.

Nah.

Devs can take all the downtimes and breaks they want but they should communicate that towards their supporters if they intend to act in good faith and stop payments.

And im not talking about a 2 week vacation but if a dev just vanishes for 3+ months without any communication whatsoever, the abandonment tag is absolutely earned. And even more when the last real update is this long ago already.

All of this counts even more since he put it on steam and turned it into a buisness. Of course a dev can just do nothing or be hyyyyyyyyper slow, nobody can force them to anything but than he dev sucks and his buisness sucks. And it will lead to less paying customers which happened here too. This leads to even less motivation from the dev and in the end its abandoned.

Im still way more pissed about the way he communicated his break (not at all really) than about him being slow or taking a break.

There's no need (for a pickup or remake), cause Hopes is still working on the game.
I should know, given that I chatted with him in DMs the day before yesterday and we talked about the game and what's to come.
So, hows the progression? How many renders did he produced since the last update? But a pick up or remake would of course be stupid anyway as hope's story is very unique, i doubt anyone else could finish it in a satisfying way.

What i meant in regards to the abandoned requirements was a bit of leeway so information from other sources can be used to show a game is still being worked and an extension in the timeframe it takes without communication to be classed as abandoned. Hopes isn't the best at communicating with his followers at the best of times which they themselves admit they need to work on however they do pop in on patreon or their discord server every so often to let people know what's going on with the games development. I mean sometimes the tag works as some devs will be notified and will post an update to get it removed but like in this case all the tag does is create spam posts on threads and pass out disinformation
